peacelily....if I would have went for Social work my dream job would have been to work in a Familycentre setting or something like that...however, if one gets that dreamjob once qualified is another thing, isn't it. There are areas within Nursing that I know I would enjoy, but the likelyhood of getting a Job in that area is well, near zero....but OT, I think I could work in just about any area and would like it

I'm a nurse, I really enjoy it, I work in paliative care

Beelliesebub · 15/11/2007 20:08

I don't do anything at the moment but I used to be a turf accountant.....
I used to love it until we had a conman in and he got really threatening. As a result I totally lost my confidence and to be honest I had got to the point where I was pretty scared to go to work in the mornings so I had to give it up........I miss it though.

Head of Communications in a large Defence Company - and I love it.
I enjoyed my maternity leave, but it was great to get back into the swing of things. An I just started in a new role about 3 months ago and am getting my feet under the table and settling in.

olala · 15/11/2007 20:18

i'm a solicitor.

i love my work, the clients, going to court etc. I absolutely detest the firm I work for and want to downsize (i work in a really big flashy one in central london) to the really nice one that is on the same road as my kids school soi can pop in and watch their assemblies. i just am so busy at work i havent approached the other firm yet.

so yes and no.

what sort of communications spanielsmom? "talking to one another" or the techie sort?

spanielsmom · 19/11/2007 13:45

arfishy - sorry, been away from computer for a couple of days.

Communications as in talking to journalists, investors, MPs and employees, etc, press releases, websites, newsletters and briefings - working closely with HR, legal and finance mainly.

Not qualified for the techie sort myself, but i help them put it into normalspeak - .

I work in the NHS.

Today, I hate it.

themoon66 · 19/11/2007 13:56

I've always worked in the NHS.

Trained as nurse, but then moved to a hospital I hated. Gave it up to have family.

Retrained as medical secretary. This I do enjoy most of the time, although it can be monotonous.

Staff are miserable gits, but the patients are great

Quadrophenia · 19/11/2007 14:32

I am a part time support worker in an Acquired Brain injury unit. I love my job so much, have just gone back after being a SAHM for four years.
