We also have snow - but only the lightest scattering of 'little polystyrene balls' type of snow. And the ground was fairly frozen solid as well.

Today is... home-schooling and work!!! not exactly a surprise.

Excellent plan re. your viewing plans and your subconscious LetUs. It will absolutely work. No idea what I was watching to produce a dream involving going to a record shop which had replaced all its stairs with an ramp made of an open metal grid - sort of like walking along a ladder, but with irregular rungs. Plus trying to take DS to a holiday club for archery and coming across a hockey one instead

Back to work again now, and dealing with last week's mess/uncontactable idiot.

Working from home today having swapped my days - it looks lovely out there, but I can hear the crunching of cars on frozen slush from inside my house so I'm in no hurry to go out don't want to risk re-bruising my arse so may as well stay in & work.

Still much snow on the ground here. I needed to go and post a letter but my car battery was as flat as a pancake. DH had to take me in his car as I wasn't going to risk pranging it. The horror!

DD has been attempting working from home and home schooling Helen. On Mondays she's normally at work and DGS is at school, but it was closed. It hasn't worked as DGS needs to be supervised or he loses focus. She's in a frazzle and has decided she'll have to take some annual leave. I do so wish we could help.

Evening. I noticed at 4:30 today that it wasn't pitch dark!

Can she get furloughed apricot? I thought I read somewhere that if parent's couldn't work due to childcare then they should be furloughed. Or I made that up - that's always possible.

Oh - was reading DF's Radio Times and happened to see that 'Donkey Punch' is on TV next Friday night in the early hours. Not sure how I would explain that one being recorded on the box to DH, let alone DS, given the synopsis

Not impressed that the forecast rain hasn't arrived as without it the snow won't clear fast enough to really clear the roads

Afternoon. We still have a covering of snow but as I haven't been outside I don't know what the temperature's doing.

Helen DD is a key worker, so DGS is usually in school, but the snow buggered it up yesterday as school was closed. She was going to take annual leave if it was closed today, but it's open so I assume she's gone into work. They have many staff away with Covid or isolating (they sadly lost one of the team to Covid last week ) so it's a juggling act to keep everything going. And of course she's having to do the school run as well which we used to do. It is tough.

I'm wondering if we gave up on The Serpent too soon LetUs as you seem to be enjoying it. Perhaps I'll recover it.

Hope your DD is okay Apricot. We really enjoyed The Serpent - it did pick up the pace after the first episode.

Knackering day. DS2 phoned mid-morning saying he (genuinely) didn’t feel well and so took a long break from his schoolwork. Thankfully he picked up and got everything done but he’s still a bit pale. Early night for him I think, and me.

I seem to have got the rain here as well. That wasn't the plan. Had a bike ride at lunchtime and it's more than wet enough already.

Had quite a good day at work in the end. Even if Uncontactable Idiot remained uncontactable.

Glad to hear the ApricotDD got back to work. about them losing a team member though. Also for miniLetUs

Rain did arrive, but it was rather feeble

FML, last night's dreams were all 'I can't find my car in the car park' and 'I'm being chased by zombie/vampires' Great. Oh, and 'I have to travel to a certain place for work but I don't know how to get there'. I'm not feeling exactly rested.

We had 5mm yesterday in the rain gauge, but the garden doesn't seem to be too wet, which is a nice change. (Maybe it's all frozen under the top layer still)

Glad to hear that DS2 is feeling better. I recommend HBFs rather than shifts Much more fun.
