Welcome one and all to thread 168. We're still going though because, (like the HBFs) we have stamina Grin and an unending supply of double-entendres and HBFs

Afternoon. The forecast was good today with no rain, so I did two washloads and put it all on the line. You can guess what happened. I should have known better. Hmm

DD and DGS came round again this afternoon. We never stop talking and when she's gone I think of loads of things I meant to tell her. Confused

Very impressive wildlife there Helen.

Eeek at the fox stand-off Fancy. They do sound alarming when they're loud.

Lol at onwards and upwards. You are funny LetUs. Grin

Hope you have a better night WW.

LetUsPrey · 06/05/2021 20:22

Evening wenches.

I read that as mice are mincing.

And did FancyCat say “it was absolutely fine though, totally had that situation covered” Grin like when LetUsCat would have a dispute with a neighbourhood dog and come in pretending to be nonchalant but with his tail like an enormous bottle brush?

Wicked. Sewing Bee is fun and quite relaxing to watch. And there’s also HotJudgePatrick.

Why thank you Apricot - I try Grin. My mum makes lists of things she wants to mention to us, either on the phone or in person. I can hear her crossing things off the list when she’s on the phone Grin

Yet more stupid lazy people fuckery at work. Yes, your department colleague is off so you need to pick up the slack. NiceColleague and I are very busy with our own stuff and guess who helps us when one of us is off? No one, that’s who. Sigh, Friday tomorrow though.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/05/2021 22:05

Evening all. Work has been... work. Various email/imaginary conversations along the lines of:
Customer: We'll do that...
Me: That would be quite expensive, but I'll see what I can do
Customer: OK, no, we're doing this instead
Me: No!!! That's even worse...
Customer:.....
Me: I'll keep the original idea ticking over for when the second idea goes pear-shaped

Customer: I need to go ahead with this
Me: Really? We haven't actually... how about that instead?
Customer: Oh - neither, we changed out minds.
Me:

Tonight's film has been Cowboys and Aliens, which was entertaining nonsense with Daniel Craig.

The mice are very definitely not mincing, and may also be their bigger cousins Hmm I have summoned WhatHisFace from S1Ep9 who was busy shooting rats before being reassigned to shooting Queenie put the poison down since they're taking the bait without being caught. We're going to have to work out where they're coming in (up through the walls and into the loft)

Gallagher - that was his name. He's in Outlander and Vikings too according to t'internet. (Lochlann O'Mearáin).

We have had a nice amount of rain again today - fortunately not while I was out with FriendWithHorses. Commiserations on the washing Apricot

Morning all. Blue sky and sunshine and birds and stuff. I'd be skipping around all Snow White ("Hello trees, hello birds!") except I'm tired and skipping is not remotely likely (unless HBFs appear in which case anything is possible). I've also had to reschedule a catch up with a friend who I haven't seen for... a year or more? Because the forecast on Friday is woeful. poop.

Still, it's Friday... have a good day all.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 07/05/2021 07:41

Morning wenches.

Loving the idea of HBFs drying washing with their hotness and recruiting Gallagher to deal with the rodents.

Is Friday hurrah! Hope you had a a better night Wicked.

It’s sunny here but seems quite breezy. Couldn’t believe the pictures of snow in parts of Scotland and the Lakes yesterday!

Better get going so I can see what fuckwittery awaits at work today.

ApricotCrush · 07/05/2021 17:48

Evening. Sunny and cloudy here, but still a cold wind.

Oh the jobs I get. DGS has broken the strap off his school bag. Only a bit of machining but the fabric was too thick to go under the foot. It needed an industrial machine, not a 100 year old Singer. Hmm Anyway DH has more patience than me, and together we managed to sort it.

That sounds like hard work with Helen's customer and LetUs's work people, but it's the weekend now so relax and have a good evening all. Wine

LetUsPrey · 07/05/2021 19:25

Evening wenches.

Poop at weather preventing meeting your friend Helen.

Star for mending the bag Apricot. “It’s the weekend now so relax” is excellent advice Apricot. You’re a wise wench.

Tonight I am planning bath’n’book, but only after I’ve emptied the washing machine.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 07/05/2021 19:43

Took a sleeping pill and slept very well and no weird dreams Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/05/2021 21:26

Hurrah for a good night's sleep Wicked

I'm a bit pooped - tonight's wildlife menu was venison (again, in greater numbers) and jugged hare (to be fair, I don't know what that actually is, or how you turn a hare into a jug, but there were two of them anyway). I got home at dusk (having left the chickens) out to discover that they really are thick, and having walked out of the open gate, two of them couldn't work out how to get into the run again, so they were 'roosting' on a plant pot and behind a clump of grass. Idiot birds. I think they were quite glad to be put back into the coop though.

Well done on the bag Apricot - modern sewing machines don't seem to have very high needle foots, which makes that sort of thing even worse. I shall stick with my 50-yo one until it dies...

Hope that Fancy has had a good day. I think I shall join LetUs with the bath'n'book. Not literally though. Unless she has spare HBFs. (rofl at the concept of a 'spare' HBF - they're all busy being put to good use Grin )

LetUsPrey · 08/05/2021 07:59

Morning wenches.

Woke up to the sound of rain falling. It does actually sound quite nice but then I don’t have to go out and I can dry the washing on the heated drier.

That sounds much better Wicked.

I shall google jugged hare. at the chickens not knowing how to get back in.

Started a Shardlake book last night which makes me want all the others in the series. So I may go out after all to see if the bookshop have any others secondhand. Supporting local business and being eco aware by not buying new stuff. HBFs can reward me for my amazingness.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/05/2021 11:31

Morning all. Rain, rain and more rain out there.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 08/05/2021 16:57

Afternoon, rain all day here.

DH has found a new car bumper on eBay in the next town so has bought it and is now fitting it himself. It's so much more complicated than just a bumper, there are sensors and all sorts. I'm keeping out of the way. Hmm

I'm attempting to complete a Plan B jumper from last year which ground to a halt when I couldn't get inspiration and seem to be getting into a mess with rather an intricate lacy pattern. I think it's fated to never get completed. Confused

Awww at the chickens roosting in the wrong place.

ApricotCrush · 08/05/2021 16:58

Ooh, glad you had a good night WW.

FancyFancy · 08/05/2021 17:19

Afternoon. Lots of rain here too, have been mostly being a cat bed today. Need to crack on with the cleaning, but I'm not very motivated!

Had a low key leaving do for a colleague yesterday, got home to go straight to Lucifer and pink night. Episode 3 watched and much less weirdness than the first episode. Hurrah Grin Have also booked my second vaccination for a fortnight's time, well ahead of schedule, so yay!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/05/2021 20:09

Evening all. It has been a good day for washing a polytunnel (and getting very wet) DH and DS came back from SportingActivity with an advance request to light the fire and make a hot chocolate; the house got turned into a Chinese laundry with wet clothes draped everywhere once they were home!

I'm shattered and don't really know why since I got a lie-in. Also had weird dreams involving being (possibly) on a cruise where there was various entertainments on, including a play with TB, who didn't want to talk to me, but that was fine by me because I wanted to see a live performance of Handel's Messiah, and not watch the play. Hmm Okaaaaaaaaay. I have no idea what my subconscious was on.

LetUs - is that the series by C J Sansom? I'm part way through Tombland and enjoying it.

Fancy - I did hoovering and washed a floor this morning - does that mean that you've done cleaning by association? #WishfulThinking

Hope that the bumper went ok Apricot and DH isn't doing the huffing/puffing/endless descriptions about what he's done/needs to do? I'm also weirdly amused by your rhyming couplet of jumper and bumper activities.

Good luck with the viewing tomorrow Wicked - is there any new timescale for job news?

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 08/05/2021 22:16

If only it worked like that helen I did clean the bathrooms though, so not entirely idle. Hoping for better weather tomorrow so I can put the new plants in. Fingers crossed for the viewing ww

LetUsPrey · 08/05/2021 22:32

Rainy McRainington allllll day today.

I have many part finished knitting projects Apricot. At least yours are sizeable , mine are like little toys or scarves.

Hurrah for Lucifer and pink and second jabs!

Your subconscious is playing hard to get Helen. You have an unwench subconscious. Shardlake is indeed CJ Sansom. Got four more books from nice shop today and another jigsaw. Lovely bookshop owner said she’ll keep an eye out for more Sansom coming in.

Other than book and jigsaw buying I haven’t done much really. I think I shall head to the hayloft.

Morning all.

It's doing the sunshine thing at the moment. Don't know if it will last but I don't think we have any rain forecast.

Today's excitement is shopping Hmm also much cooking because DS and DH are out all day at SportingCompetition so I get to cook whatever I buy at the shops.

LetUsPrey · 09/05/2021 08:58

Morning wenches.

Sunny here and the washing is on.

What are you planning to cook Helen? Either way, pop so,e chairs in the garden an I’ll be down shortly.

Today is washing, ironing, homework, visiting parents, and hopefully finish that 3D image jigsaw.

LetUsPrey · 09/05/2021 17:27

Washing, ironing, visiting and jigsawing done.

Watching Foyle’s War where they’re standing round the radio listening to the announcement that the war’s over. Bit emotional.

I d got The Pursuit of Love set to record tonight but not sure when I’ll watch as it’s not DH’s thing so we’ll do another Line of Duty.

ApricotCrush · 09/05/2021 17:38

Afternoon.

Nothing much going on here. Yes I got the usual commentary from DH. Grin at bumper and jumper.

Hope the viewing went well WW.

I see we had a visitor. Wonder what she said that was against the Talk Guidelines. Shock

ApricotCrush · 09/05/2021 17:42

Ah, apparently it was porn links, she was all over the place last night. Hmm

FancyFancy · 09/05/2021 17:54

Hmm indeed apricot

Have finally put the new plants in. Think I need to buy some more though - there's still space to fill Grin

Think of me kindly wenches, instead of some Sunday night faf I will be watching a Spanish film with DD as she has an assessment tomorrow, with the film being one of the things being tested. Her previous assessment of the film was such that I don't think it's going to be a barrel of laughs. Luckily the Giro started yesterday...thiiiiiighs........

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/05/2021 20:28

Evening wenches - what a ridiculously warm day it was - coming on the back of the previous temperature dip. My handy hint for the day is that, if you're weeding near a red ant nest, don't let the little buggers bite you. It's bloody itchy, and that's only with three bites Sad

Good luck Fancy - could you not watch that 'Life of Fishes' film or whatever it was that Santi was in, and Madame did an epic translation for (emotions were measured in 'dead puppies' Grin ) Then you can come up for a visit and take some plants home with you!

LetUs - it was fish pie, followed by mandarin/rice/meringue pudding

Hope that MrA's bumper is not knitted fully fitted now.
