I am on the white wine & have been watching Lucifer with DD - the episode where he decides to appear naked to tempt the detective

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/05/2020 08:00

Morning. Sunny and cloudy here - it may be lovely or it may chick down with rain. Who knows... (not me because I haven't seen/heard any forecasts recently).

That sounds like a very pleasant way to spend the evening Fancy and today you have the excitement of the composter!

My excitement this morning was clearing up cat vom, and then deciding that I might as well wash all of the floor. Whoop. BoringSpareRoomJob will be calling me shortly.

Morning wenches.

Back to work. I know I’ve been very lucky to have furloughed these last few weeks but I don’t want to gooooooooooo Lots of lovely anxiety thoughts started spinning around when I went to bed (about DS2 being on his own even though he’s spent days on his own before) and it was getting on for 2am by the time I actually got to sleep.

I’d much rather spend the day the way Fancy spent her evening

Here’s to successful composting set up and to Helen finding an HBF in the spare room to make it less boring.

Is Wicked still in that bath with AD?

FancyFancy · 01/05/2020 10:01

Morning
It was a fab way to spend the evening, although my sinuses disagree this morning ffs.

Hmm, was going to spend the day gardening but it looks like it could chuck it down any minute.

FancyFancy · 01/05/2020 10:03

How's work letus? I hope the change of scenery is at least diverting?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/05/2020 10:57

Oh please god, send me HBFs so mitigate the pain of dealing with the finance department.
Finance: You haven't sent us the invoice
Me: It's on p.2 of the document that you just returned to me. Here it is as a separate document as well.
Finance: .....
Me: While you're at it, what happened to the year end stuff that you were doing - it's not showing up on any of our reports - did it happen?
Finance: .....

Hope that LetUs is doing ok at work and miniLetUs is getting on with school stuff at home... DS has huffed and puffed and winged, but then done ok when he actually got down to doing some. I have made the cardinal error of asking him to get dressed though Shock How very dare I...

Well, since there are no HBFs here Angry (inconsiderate sods) I'm going to hide in Fancy's compost bin and sulk about how unfair it all is. #Kevin

I'm having the day off since it's the 1st of May. It's raining and I'm doing sod all at the moment Smile

ApricotCrush · 01/05/2020 17:12

Afternoon. Also doing sod all WW. Our May Day holiday should be on Monday but it's not as we're apparently celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE Day next Friday instead.

Hope work was alright LetUs and everyone else has had a good day,

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/05/2020 20:17

Evening. TFI and all that...

LetUsPrey · 01/05/2020 21:17

Evening wenches. Well, I’ve been to work today so that’s quite enough of that and I really don’t see any need to continue with that sort of foolishness.

It was nice to see NiceColleague and do our handover but I’ll be on my lonesome from Monday. HBFs are, as ever, more than welcome to pop in

Did the compost bin arrive Fancy?

Doing sod all is a good way to spend your day and is good for your mental health

Athos could sort out the finance people and then sort you out Helen

hello LetUs Grin

Will you become a genius solitaire and minecraft player for the next three weeks? It must be boring as hell if you're the only one there.

Fancy has been very quiet about the composter. I reckon it was a sneaky way of smuggling HBFs in, and they're keeping her busy Grin

A day of doing nothing sounds lovely wicked and Apricot - chilling out and relaxing and doing HBFs nothing.

There’s other people who will walk past my office door every so often and chat from a safe distance —just as I’ve started one of the timed rounds on my Countdown app—. I’d said there’ll be about six or seven people in the whole office, as opposed to between 50 and 70.

We’re watching the Mash Report. I’m laughing. DH is waiting for it to be over. Grin

FancyFancy · 01/05/2020 23:50

Evening.
Compost bin did arrive thank you. I am irrationally excited by the thermometer in the lid Grin Haven't filled it yet as the garden waste is a bit soggy after all the rain, plus I want to raise it slightly to make emptying easier - FancyMan has promised me some paving slabs. Oh the romance Grin

LetUsPrey · 02/05/2020 08:51

Morning wenches.

I love how something like a compost bin can be so exciting! And FancyMan is indeed a true romantic.

Nothing particular planned for today. Washing of course and I’ll try to get one of the Frankensteins watched.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/05/2020 11:36

Morning. You want it a bit soggy though Fancy (nlt - wrong context) so that it all breaks down first. Though not too soggy or it goes all anaerobic and smelly on you and you make silage instead of compost Grin

I have had a lie-in that involved swapping beds with DS sometime between 4-5am, being woken by heating clanking the pipes at 6:30, then DS at 6:45, then DH at 7am... then back ot my bed to be trampled on by Stupid Cat at 7:15am... then I actually got a nice run of sleep from 8-11am - hurrah!!!!

I don't think we have any plans at all. Though I have to replant some crocosmia that I dug up yesterday. Thrilling stuff...

FancyFancy · 02/05/2020 14:37

Honestly, it's like a scientific experiment helen Grin As it's one of those hotbins, I particularly don't want it to get too soggy as then the temperature won't rise enough & it won't be a hotbin. And I'll have grass clippings to add in in a couple of days - which won't help the sogginess.

Lovely day here - mostly sunny, few clouds & lots of birdsong. Two loads of washing done & on the line. Am off for a walk later & then to to the supermarket - another exciting lockdown day....

ApricotCrush · 02/05/2020 16:36

Afternoon. I spent most of the morning ordering birthday cards and presents, May's a busy month. DGD is very good, she WhatsApps me the links to what she wants; I can't believe she'll be a teenager. Shock

The compost bin sounds fascinating Fancy.

I'm very jealous of your 3-hour sleep Helen, I very rarely sleep for that long at a stretch.

Very pretty.

LetUsPrey · 02/05/2020 17:30

Balls. Birthday cards. May’s busy here too. That can be a job for Monday. Happy upcoming birthday to soon to be teen DGD Apricot.

That three hour sleep sounds good Helen. I woke up around 5 with really bad cramp in my calf which made me jump out of bed to sort it out.

Lots of washing here too.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/05/2020 21:56

Ouch - that's not a good way to be woken up LetUs Sad

We've had too many rain showers here to do washing.

I'm going to have to google 'hot composters' - sounds far too high tech for me!

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 02/05/2020 22:04

That’s another Glastonbury act right there - Hot Composters Grin

My leg’s still a bit sore but as much as I enjoy things being rubbed better by HBFs, I’d rather no one massaged my calf.

I should head to the hayloft because I’m quite yawny.

LetUsPrey · 03/05/2020 10:12

Morning wenches. Had a lie in today.

DS1 is insisting I have another go at cutting his hair. I suppose he’s got a hat just in case.

We need a new thread. I’ve tried to think of something but brain is saying very much no.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/05/2020 10:38

Morning. I've tried to create a new thread, but I've stupidly included GIFs which don't always seem to post for me, so I'll give it 10 minutes or so and if it hasn't worked then I'll try again.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 03/05/2020 11:08

Morning
A most welcome uninterrupted night's sleep - no nocturnal teenagers wandering around as they're at their dad's Grin DS isn't so bad, he does make an effort to be quiet, but DD just forgets. Of course it could just be the smell of fresh toast that wakes me.....

Feeling a little stiff after walking yesterday & doing some exercises - the hbfs can maintain their massage skills on me if you're still declining services letus?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/05/2020 11:38

OK, new thread finally. FML that was hard work.

In the meantime, because it's the last message and all, I get Athos all to myself.
