Eek at hail, and LOL at MaxTheCat. Grin I suspect your translation was spot on Apricot

Today I have mostly been dealing with tedious bank letters and working on spreadsheets. DH is out this evening and I think an early night is in order...

Morning wenches.

Is only daark as opposed to daaaaaarrrrkkkk this morning.

Did you have an in depth discussion with Athos Helen? Go through spreadsheets ?

DS2 parents’ evening tonight so that usually means straight out from work and then a late dinner.

I think my brain is still in the hayloft so I’ll send my body back to join it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/01/2020 07:57

Morning. I highly recommend staying in the hayloft. It's not daaaaaaaaaark, or raiing but there's a very biting wind. Wildlife report on the bus walk was 33 swans (hurrah! Was started to think they'd left already) and nothing else was stupid enough to venture out until I got home again. Were we got crows/pigeons and magpies - the latter of whom may account for the lack of eggs from the chickens recently. this means we'll have at start shutting the poor sods into their pen until midday again, until we've got at least one egg out of them.

Yes LetUs Lots of very thorough, in-depth activity with Athos last night Grin

And now I'm going back to bed because I can - and because DS' hot water bottle leaked last night, so guess which muggins was hauled out of bed to deal with that at 4am...

Morning
Bright & sunny here - just right for a day in the office Hmm
Must get moving, but as usual ScaredyCat is enjoying her morning snuggle with me

ApricotCrush · 28/01/2020 17:42

Evening.

It's DH's birthday today, but we don't bother to celebrate these days. The DC will be round to see him after work.

He's off gallivanting golfing tomorrow for a few days. I'm determined to get stuff done while he's away instead of sitting around wasting time on the internet. Hmm

Good luck with parents' evening LetUs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/01/2020 19:58

Happy birthday MrA! That sounds like a splendid birthday present for you - him going off gallivanting for a few days Grin

I have done Athos nothing of interest today. More spreadsheets and document reconciliations. Oh - I did get my post-school-bus snooze though, so that was good. Except I had to fight for space on the bed due to Athos cats being, well, cats. Hmm And we got two eggs with the chickens being shut in their pen. Result.

Evening wenches.

Hurrah for eggs! I could be a scarecrow for you Helen but I understand they have to stay outside which is not really my thing.

Awwww at ScaredyCat

I agree that that sounds a super present for —you— MrApricot. A very happy birthday to him! I think a rewatch of TM or Strike is in order as today’s birthday gift Grin

Rather fed up of people at work —one person— telling lies for no reason whatsoever. Just being completely obstructive and very fucking annoying.

Parents’ Evening went super well. Growing in confidence, trying his very best, etc. Very proud of him (even though he can be an utter PITA at home but I’m beginning to think that’s compulsory)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/01/2020 20:49

Awww - excellent news re. DS2 LetUs Smile (and stiff Gin / Wine for the PITA bit at home...) We should shove the twat at work into the dungeon with Vinnie - best place for them.

I shall make a new palatial chicken coop with living space for a particularly glamorous scarecrow shall I?

That coop is amazing! Is the tower my part? Aramis wouldn’t need to jump out of the window - unless he was doing it for effect and then ca,e straight back in

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/01/2020 22:36

I think it would be for effect only (unless he needs to prove his devotion by jumping out of the window Hmm ). He could also climb in that way if you're feeling all rapunzel-ish Grin or if Psychotic Cockerel is being overly aggressive to anyone going into the main chicken coop.Though I'm sure Aramis could deal with the overly-aggressive-feather-duster channelling his inner velociraptor.

And with that mental image, I'm off to the hayloft to see what my subconscious makes of that scenario...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 28/01/2020 22:43

I can think of many other ways Aramis can prove his devotion

Love the description of the cockerel Grin

I’m also heading to the hayloft

LetUsPrey · 28/01/2020 23:10

I’m watching an old episode of QI. They’re talking about Mount Athos and as soon as he said it, I could imagine many wenches shouting “yes please!”

LetUsPrey · 29/01/2020 07:51

Morning wenches.

I’m not here. I’m still asleep. Sigh that’s just wishful thinking.

I shall have to be calm and smiley at work today as I suspect certain colleagues are going to be “challenging”.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/01/2020 08:00

Morning
Sunny here, which means scraping the car the car this morning. Joy.

Hope work people aren't too bad today letus or they get found out lying

Happy birthday to MrA

Grin @ cockerel description helen

ApricotCrush · 29/01/2020 18:03

Evening. No ice here, but it is cold.

DH said thanks for the birthday wishes. DS's GF sent him a cake which was nice of her considering I didn't bother to get him one. I've had his usual minimal communication: 'Arrived at GC'. Grin

I've been sorting some cupboards out which resulted in finding a load of old photographs, so I got lost in nostalgia.

Love the posh chicken coop Helen. Grin at Psychotic Cockerel.

Well done to DS2 LetUs. Hope your day hasn't been too bad.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/01/2020 18:11

Sorry for being AWOL, just struggling with some stuff. Hope all wenches are ok Smile

LetUsPrey · 29/01/2020 19:32

Evening wenches.

At least stretching to scrape the ice off the car will help keep you flexible Fancy

Love looking at old photos! Sounds a great way to spend time. Grin at MrApricot’s update.

Wicked. Hope your struggles soon pass.

I needed that Gin today Helen. More of the same at work and then early finish to assist with homework which took bloody ages.

I’m watching Portrait Artist of the Year. I can’t draw or paint for toffee but I love watching others who can.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/01/2020 20:14

and [Kylo] for Wicked

Fancy - was it Portrait Artists that we accidentally came across at the Wallace Collection - the one where we dropped some armour and had a hysterical giggling fit?

Well, having shot out of the door like a scalded cat this morning, I got 10 minutes down the road and then realised I've got a day off today So I spent the morning catching up on yet more sleep, and then did a bit of work this afternoon. The weather's been lovely, but cold (we had a frost too). Oh, and I forgot to phone up about a getting a puncture fixed. Bother.

Going through old photos sound like a nice way to spend the day Apricot - and the cake. I was going to make one this evening. Maybe tomorrow...

That’s a happy mistake to make Helen Grin

I was watching PAOTY but then the football was on and I was surrounded by three loud people. I’d go to bed but my electric blanket isn’t on.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/01/2020 20:47

I have a cat blanket providing heating, but I think I'm heading for bath/hayloft early tonight.

LetUsPrey · 30/01/2020 07:55

Morning wenches.

I did end up having an early night but I read ‘Twas The Nighshift Before Christmas so didn’t go to sleep much earlier.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/01/2020 07:58

Morning all.

No scalded cat impressions today Grin Wildlife report - one barn owl which is always a nice thing to see.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 30/01/2020 08:29

Morning
Yes I think it was Portrait Artist helen - I can never revisit that place without happy memories of giggling fits Grin Rather jealous of your barn owl. We get tawnies here - well I hear them, not seen one yet.

ww

ApricotCrush · 30/01/2020 17:29

Afternoon.

WW, hope you're alright.

Oh, I love watching people draw or paint LetUs, it sends me to sleep.

There have been three ambulances in the road in the past two days. One over the road, one with blue lights round the corner, and one two doors away this afternoon. The hospital must wonder what's ging on round here. Hope no-one's just come back from China. Shock

Up-date from DH: Today he got back to the car after playing golf and realised he'd been playing in one golf shoe and one ordinary shoe, and wondered why he was slipping all over the place. I worry about him sometimes. Grin
