New thread offically open, complete with Wine Gin [ brew] etc. And Hayloft. Speaking of which...

Morning. Lovely and sunny, not windy. No plans apart from going to stay in bed with HBFs fetch toaster and doing shopping for my father while I'm there.

Morning wenches.

Going to be a lovely day here weatherwise. DS2 has schoolwork. I’ll get the kitchen tidied and then it’s outside time with jigsaw and then a lounger —no doubt with headphones on as my neighbours seem to think that everyone wants to hear their music—

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/04/2020 11:04

Photos online with tons of people at outdoor restaurants in Sweden ignoring Covid-19. I'm actually embarassed about what the rest of the world must think of us. If restaurants are going to be open I think they should remove half of the tables at least!
Today I read about a nurse that died after working with Covid-19 patients Sad

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/04/2020 13:48

Sad wicked

I've just been sitting outside having lunch. It was rather lovely and civilised. the sitting outside bit, that it. Lunch was an eggy sandwich which was yummy, but not quite 'lovely and civilised' I also did some weeding that was within reach. Quelle excitement!

Afternoon. I fell asleep on the lounger earlier and was woken up by my snoring. Hope it didn't reverberate round the neighbourhood. Confused

Highlight of the day was ordering new taps for the bathroom. DH painting the outside of the house has had me looking at the inside with a critical eye.

WW. Considering the population of our two countries, your figures aren't as bad as ours and we've been in lockdown for a month. I don't understand these scientific models, and I believe that lockdown was the right thing for us, to stop our NHS being overwhelmed, but our deaths are still horrendous. Sad

On a good note, DD came round with the food I was missing from the shop and she brought DGS so we were able to have a chat, albeit through the car window.

Yay for new toaster and eggy sandwich.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/04/2020 17:48

On a positive note the summer clothes I ordered all fit well so I ordered one of the tops in another color Smile I also went for a walk, it was quite hot outside, so I got in the mood for Pimms and they had it in stock at Systembolaget. Yay! Wine

FancyFancy · 23/04/2020 19:29

Evening - could've sworn I'd posted, but evidently not.

Sweden is attracting interest ww - worse numbers of deaths compared to your neighbours, but not as bad as UK, Italy or Spain. I'm not sure we'll be able to tell which countries got their strategies right for quite a while yet, certainly need to see what happens when lockdowns are relaxed in various countries.

Am still bored with all this homeworking business, although tomorrow I do need to go into the office for a bit. I think it will be so empty I will be equally as bored there! Still, change of scenery & all that.....

of course a backdrop of faf would be a better change of scenery.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/04/2020 20:22

We;re watchgin the big night in. They're doing a cover Times Like These. I feel old. I recognise about 4 of them Confused Maybe 5.

LetUsPrey · 23/04/2020 20:29

I recognised a few but not many. I saw Dave Grohl and gave a little scream Grin

Ooooo he’s back!

Love an eggy sandwich Helen.

Hurrah for successful clothes shopping Wicked!

Oh Apricot I’m genuinely happy that you got to see DGS and have a little chat with him Smile

FAF would definitely stave off boredom Fancy Grin

Been sat outside this afternoon —listening to next door neighbour talk absolute drivel because she has to have all her conversations outside and at a volume everybody can hear—

LetUsPrey · 23/04/2020 20:38

Also, hurrah for Pimms!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/04/2020 22:45

So, LOL for Apricot waking herself up - I'm sure it wasn't as bad as MrA singing Grin and hurrah for seeing DGS. Also hurrah for clothes that fit, and Pimms and FAF and changes of scenery - I had a 3 mile bike ride today, but encountered no FAF Sad
Hmm and Angry at noisy neighbours talking drivel - they could at least talk interesting drivel.

Tomorrow's excitement will be using the new toaster to make toasted sandwiches. Whoop!

Just had a lovely shower and then, because I had time, I put body lotion on. It was one of the miniature bottles you get in hotels from when it was DH’s Christmas party. I now smell like that hotel room. I mean it’s a nice smell and everything, but to me I smell like a hotel room.

I quite enjoy using a new appliance or gadget. Novelty wears off though quite quickly. Except with the dishwasher - novelty will never wear off with that Grin

I should head to the hayloft.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/04/2020 09:53

Morning. Nice and sunny out, but I'm working - or trying to. With Stupid Cat installed on my lap and purring her head off. The network for BoringOfficeJob is running ridiculously slow today.

LetUsPrey · 24/04/2020 10:01

Morning wenches.

Lovely and sunny again. DH has been explaining to me stuff about the antibiotics he’s been taking. You know, the ones I’ve had several times before and I had to tell him no alcohol with them or for 48 hours after finishing? Grin

DS2 has done a bit of schoolwork. He’s just getting dressed/him and DH are pissing around upstairs.

Is that any better Helen?

FancyFancy · 24/04/2020 14:45

Afternoon
Felt very weird going into work today - I was the only one downstairs! Very few people in, apart from the payroll department - all in & working like dogs, it is manic apparently.

Change of scenery was nice & there was the bonus of a very buff tanned man jogging topless on my route in Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/04/2020 14:51

FFS at MrLetUs and his mansplaining.

Hurrah for buff topless joggers!

Boo for work, I'm very bored - have got a very tedious job on the go. Am going to break for hot chocolate.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 24/04/2020 17:29

Always important to take a keen interest in exercise and fitness

Hope the hot chocolate helped Helen.

I’m all for children playing outside and not being glued to screens, etc but the ones next door (the other next door from yesterday) have been outside allll day and it’s been like this for ages. There must be about five a hundred of them given the amount of noise they make. Constant shrieking and shouting. I just want about an hour’s peace in the garden. I’m obviously a grumpy old woman.

FancyFancy · 24/04/2020 18:15

Grumping is allowed letus

Did the hot chocolate help helen?

Is ww still on the Pimms? Grin

ApricotCrush · 24/04/2020 18:23

Evening. I've thought it's Saturday all day and couldn't understand why Fancy and Helen are working. Confused

Yay for clothes that fit and Pimms WW.

We've had a few screaming children in the gardens too, although none of them live round here. Hmm

Wine for all those in need.

LetUsPrey · 24/04/2020 19:53

Yep I can live without the Thursday fireworks here too.

I’m having a cider if Wicked’s drinking the Pimms Grin

That is most mysterious Apricot. You should get Strike to carry out a full investigation.

We’re watching Men In Black International. I’m quite enjoying it. DH not so much.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/04/2020 20:36

Cheers WineSmile

LetUsPrey · 24/04/2020 21:15

Cheers!

Had a few games of cards with DH and DS2. I’ve got TOTP 1989 on now. Mark Goodier is wearing some rather alarming trousers. They’re playing The Stone Roses’ debut hit Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/04/2020 21:21

Oh FFS. MN just doesn't work if I don't actually hit 'post'...

We're watching the first part of Big Night In - saw the Miranda clip with Tom Ellis and thought of Wenches Grin LetUs - Is MrLetUs not enjoying Chris Hemsworth as much as you?

The hot chocolate did help - as did the video call with a friend at work.

We were going to have a BBQ this evening, but it's well chilly, so we've postponed it until tomorrow afternoon, when it will hopefully be warmer.

.... and since I didn't hit post, we're now back to Dave Grohl Grin LOL at 'alarming toursers' I'm imagining Wallace and Gromit's Wrong Trousers.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/04/2020 21:24

OMG - Graham Norton talking to Chris Hemsworth - he does a meditation app - watch Graham Norton!!!!

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 24/04/2020 21:41

How did I miss the Miranda and Tom Ellis thing last night? Hurrah for iPlayer!

Film was very entertaining and Chris Hemsworth was excellent value as usual. I’ve recorded Graham Norton.

Not staying warm in the evenings yet is it? You should be okay for tomorrow afternoon Helen.

at Wallace and Gromit. They looked a bit like joggers, the legs were different colours.
