Love the mist/atmospheric lighting Grin

I’m fighting the urge to have some crisps, especially as I’m out for a meal tomorrow night.

FancyFancy · 24/01/2020 08:42

Nice new thread helen, will decorate later......

ApricotCrush · 24/01/2020 17:51

Evening. Thanks for the new thread Helen.

Yes LetUs, he is/was, he once designed the lighting for the House of Commons, although they've probably updated it by now.

Love Spy in the Wild but didn't see the gorilla one, I'll have to look for it.

Also love Alan Cumming, he was hilarious in The Good Wife.

LetUsPrey · 24/01/2020 18:12

Evening wenches.

That’s impressive Apricot! I bet that posed some challenges because of the age of the building.

Work was rubbbbbbbbish.

Off out tonight for a meal with DS1 and some friends. He’s not overly keen —because he’ll have to be away from his computer— but I’ve told him to get on with it. I’m sure he’ll enjoy it Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/01/2020 18:41

Evening.

Oooooooohhh - I once saw a thing about the House of Commons which was saying what a nightmare it was for utilities because of its age and all the different systems in it - milllions of pipes and cables and just a nightmare to deal with.

LetUs - the Darwin Award for the mouse wasn't a good thing Grin

I have to go out to Badminton soon. Hurrah for keeping fit!

Also hurrah for Fncy getting out of the cupboard. Though being in the cupboard with HBFs is never a bad thing... and obvs. that's totally what's been going on there. Nothing to do with work stuff and boring real life.

Morning... Am going to SportingActivity and then shopping... think of me kindly. Though it won't be too much of a hardship because I have book tokens to spend Grin (as well as school uniform replacements and more tedious stuff).

Morning wenches.

Oooo at spending book tokens - one of my favourite things

Had a great night out and DS1 enjoyed himself. I am not enjoying myself this morning though.

ApricotCrush · 25/01/2020 17:12

Evening.

Very impressed with your keeping fit Helen. I really should start the treadmill again. Hmm

Glad you had a good time LetUs.

Re the House of Commons thing: It was about 30 years ago and DH went there in the summer recess with the architect. He says it was a huge place with a very high ceiling and a strong smell of leather! The lights were "multi-lamp pendants suspended on long chains with matching wall lamps" which DH had specially made. He wasn't involved in the installation and never saw them in situ. We didn't make much of it at the time, it was just another job. I wish I'd taken more interest in it, but busy lives and all that...

FancyFancy · 25/01/2020 18:13

Smell of leather you say apricot? Wink

Spending a week in the cupboard with hbfs would have been a wonderful way to spend the week you're right helen, although my week was not all work - it was FancyMan's birthday so some time was spent with him.

My pile of 'books that I want to read when I have time' has increased by 4 Grin I also have school uniform stuff sorted.

Evening wenches.

That’s really interesting Apricot re the lights, I agree that the treadmill rules should definitely make a comeback Grin

Happy birthday FancyMan!

Big Star for you Helen. I love your suggestion of exercise!

Wasn’t enjoying this morning because I —had a hangover— was tired. Anyway, I am —no longer hungover— not tired anymore. Didn’t really accomplish anything today other than finish watching Pride and Prejudice - tv series version.

LetUsPrey · 26/01/2020 09:44

Morning wenches. Actually had a not bad night’s sleep! Hurrah! Properly bonkers dream though.

Usual Sunday ahead. Lying on the beach outside the secluded beach cabin with HBFs, delicious food and drink, lots of sex. Orrrrrrrr washing, ironing, homework, and too many snacks.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/01/2020 10:46

Morning. Slept through fine last night, but woke up with backache Sad [grumpy] and I've no idea why - certainly didn't do anything obvious to cause it. Also had bonkers dreams about being at a Lenny Henry gig at a stadium, but missing most of it while I looked for boxes suitable for keeping 2 kittens in. They must have been very small kittens since at one point I suggested a grape punnet Confused though that was better than the baguette bag that they were in Confused Confused I even remember explaining to someone that the baguette bag wasn't ideal, but it was perforated to they'd be ok/able to breathe! pfft. Go figure. Stupid subconscious. I want HBFS!!!

I think I have the same day planned as you LetUs - domestic blaaaaaaaaaah.

Also, belated happy birthday to FancyMan and [raspberry] at MN for not bothering to show me that message at the time. FFS and all that.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 26/01/2020 12:12

Afternoon, I suppose a dream with kittens in isn't bad helen?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/01/2020 16:21

Kittens not bad, but it wasn't exactly relaxing - lots of worry about finding a box and missing the show, etc.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 26/01/2020 18:06

Evening. Usual boring stuff here too.

The kitten dream sounds a bit stressful Helen.

Belated happy birthday to FancyMan.

LetUsPrey · 26/01/2020 19:24

I suppose if one can’t have HBFs in a dream, one might as well have kittens, even if they do create a stressful situation.

Let’s tell ourselves that boring is good, again in absence of HBFs Grin

I’m just starting to watch Picard. No Santi yet but I’m only a couple of minutes in.

LetUsPrey · 26/01/2020 20:05

No Santi in ep1 but I quite like Star Trek anyway and really enjoyed it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/01/2020 21:59

Not sorted Amazon access and not watched Doctor Who yet - twitter reaction looks good though, which is good because the past couple have been a bit Hmm.

Watched 'Goes Wrong' again, and also Top Gear - both good.

Today's achievement was restacking the woodpile. Whoop! (Didn't find any HBFs in the process - boo.)

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 26/01/2020 22:19

Yes I tried the one with Jason Isaacs in it but couldn’t get into it

We (me and DS2) are loving The Goes Wrong Show Grin

We (me and DH) are watching SEAL Team which is definitely more his thing than mine.

LetUsPrey · 27/01/2020 07:52

Morning wenches.

DS2 in a stellar mood this morning. Super.

Watched Dracula - dream about Dracula
Watched Call the Midwife - dream about it
Watched TM/Killers videos, etc - nothing

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/01/2020 08:03

Morning all.

LetUs - our subconsciousnesses need re-education, which can best be achieved by spending all our free time with the FAF. If they are inconsiderate not to be there in person to help with it, then we just have to do our best with watching them on screens. I'm sure our families and work will understand and support us in this. Hmm Grin

Today's wildlife report - crows, pigeons, gulls. And Houdini hen out of her run before I'm even back to the house. I just left her to it.... Stupid cat thinks I've sat down purely to let her sit on me and purr...

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 27/01/2020 17:55

Evening.

Did the food shop today and we had a huge hail storm just as I was unloading. MaxtheCat went hurtling down the drive miaowing loudly as he ran to the shelter of his porch over the road. I like to think he was saying hello, but it was probably 'fuck me I don't like this hail'. Grin

We finished The Trial of Christine Keeler last night. I enjoyed it, although I expect it was more interesting if you remember it all. The 60s were bonkers, it was a wonderful time to be young. Life seems much more difficult now.

On the dream front I was in a neighbour's house as she'd promised to let me have some baby clothes she'd finished with. Confused Shock

LetUsPrey · 27/01/2020 19:57

Evening wenches.

You’re right Helen. If the FAF isn’t turning up in dreams, then they should be there in person. Being on screen will be an acceptable start.

Grin at StupidCat being actually NotStupidCat.

Also Grin at MaxTheCat and his rather rushed greeting, and at the more likely translation. The 60s did look like a lot of fun. Shock at baby clothes.

Spent most of the day at work trying to sort out complicated stuff that people who are supposed to know better than me couldn’t be bothered to deal with/didn’t know what to do.

I plan to do not much else this evening.
