Or if not mist, then atmospheric lighting... Hmm

New thread offically open, complete with Wine Gin [ brew] etc. And Hayloft. Speaking of which...

Damn it I missed that TOTP - love the Stone Roses

LetUsPrey · 24/04/2020 22:26

They only played a bit of it Fancy in the chart rundown as a new entry. A bit later there was some Simply Red, Bros, and Sonia. A mixed bag Grin

FancyFancy · 24/04/2020 22:43

Hmm, very mixed! Happy memories of dancing to Fools Gold - anyone else start off dancing really energetically to that one and then a few minutes in realising 'shit, it's the 12" version, not sure I can keep this pace up for that long' Grin

Morning wenches.

Ah yes the days of starting dancing enthusiastically to a track and then realising it’s the 12” Grin

I’ve just watched Graham Norton from last night. That was all fantastic! I think it’s very important to encourage meditation so I’ll be downloading the app and meditating the heck out of it. Not sure how calm I’m going to be afterwards Grin

Lovely and sunny again.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/04/2020 12:27

Morning. A Bit cloudy here today, but DH assures me that the forecast is for it to burn off. The clouds look a bit too substantial for burning off to me, but we'll see. I think the BBQ may be postponed again, to tomorrow. LOL re. over-energetic dancing to 12" remixes.

Today is a... wait for it... gardening day. Again. Grin Today's achievement is the lockdown haircut - aka every other bloody haircut I've had for the past 10 years because I can't be arsed with getting myself to a proper hairdresser Grin

Nice & sunny here - may do a bit more spring cleaning later.
Nothing exciting to report - predictably Grin

ApricotCrush · 25/04/2020 16:48

Afternoon. Nice here again but yes, it does go chilly in the evening.

Got carried away with my knitting and forgot to shape for the armholes; that'll teach me to carry my pattern in my head and not write it down. Twenty rows to undo. Confused

Nothing else going on here, DH still painting and singing. I'm getting tired of having to prepare food. Hmm

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 25/04/2020 18:56

Evening Wine

Actually managed to be useful today and cleaned the house among other things. I haven't had any energy lately even though I have so much free time. I also bought a new bedspread, on sale obviously, love to make a bargain Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/04/2020 20:22

Evening.

Oooooooooh, I love bedspreads Wicked - I have great plans to make some quilts for us. Plans. I've had these plans for some years... Hmm

Apricot - can you order takeaways from somewhere local that delivers? Out local pubs are delivering Sunday roasts round the village. (I'm learning all sorts of things now I'm getting out on my bike!)

We have had our BBQ. We also lit the chiminea and huddled round it like cliched homeless people round a brazier. But DH and DS are happy, and we're all back indoors in the warm again now, where we've lit the woodburner with one of the logs from the chiminea [grn]

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Pottered around the house, doing jobs this morning. Watched most of Twelfth Night. Spent the afternoon outside in the garden —listening to shrieking children—. Also listened to The Garrick Year which I think Helen recommended. Play with TB in it. Was good and he says “crack the whip” at one point which made me Grin

Eeek at all that knitting to undo Apricot! I’ve hardly done any of mine. I second what Helen says re takeaways or locals doing deliveries.

Love a bedspread and love a bargain!

Watching a live concert from 2017. The crowd are massively into it and it’s making me miss that euphoric feeling of being in a crowd at a gig where everyone’s having a great time. That’s not likely to happen again until next year. Wider problems and all that but it’s not helping with the meh.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/04/2020 09:53

Morning all.
It is warm and sunny. There is a cat asleep next to me on the sofa, and I don't think he's noticed the several times I've got up and come back again. Awww. Sleepy kitty Smile God though, the throw is flithy Shock Confused

Morning wenches.

Awww at sleepy snuggly kitty

I’m up but still in pyjamas, as is DS2. Should really have a wash on as it’s forecast to rain later but said pyjamas are going in this next wash. Seem to have run out of steam a bit today.

Excellent work there Helen. Steam injection is of course a super way of producing energy I think

FancyFancy · 26/04/2020 11:56

Morning
Also still in pj's - I do have a wash on though.
Caught up with some work yesterday so treated myself to This Country & pink fizz - the Driving Lesson episode. Was very good & pleased to see Mandy making an appearance Grin

LetUsPrey · 26/04/2020 16:56

That’s the sort of treat we all need I think. Well, as well as HBFs.

I’ve got a bottle of cider and I’m watching a programme about Rome presented by Mary Beard. I do love her but I can’t help feel a bit stupid Blush

Rain not materialised but I’d better bring the washing in soon. If I can stand the excitement.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/04/2020 17:41

No rain here, lots of sun still. We all need an injection of HBF-infused energy today

(I seem to have spent most of the day setting my father up on Facebook Confused )

Evening. The sun has gone. Sad

Yes, we could get a takeaway, but DH isn't really keen on them. Will have to have a word. Hmm Ooo I fancy fish and chips now.

I caught up with the knitting, didn't take long.

Hurrah for new bedspread, sleepy kitty, cider and pink fizz.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/04/2020 21:09

Evening. Don't really know what happened to the weekend Hmm

Five restaurants in Stockholm had to close because they were not following the restrictions. I think that's great! I don't mind that restaurants are open but they need to follow the rules ffs.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/04/2020 21:35

Is it true that for example "half seven" means 7.30? I would think it meant 6.30?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/04/2020 21:54

Yes - it's short for 'half past 7' - you just drop the 'past'

I have a headache and, frankly, it can FRO. I'm going to the hayloft.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 26/04/2020 22:21

Well the rain never came.

Ah Helen, that reminds me of the time I got a friend request from my dad on Facebook.

Ask him whilst he’s on the roof Apricot and say you heard him agree to a takeaway. Or tell him you asked and he mustn’t have heard you Grin

Weekend whooshed by me too Wicked. Time’s speeding up the closer I get to returning to work.

Hope the headache bogs off Helen.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/04/2020 08:04

LOL at LetUs' devious 'misheard' takeaway plan Grin A very cunning plan Grin

It is sunny and lovely and I have to do work/supervise school work today and I can't be arsed. I think I'll just get out a tavern sun lounger, recline, and let the HBFs take care of my every need And I'm sure that one of them will have enough brains to do school stuff with DS. If nothing else, exploding Athos can teach his sword fighting - DS would like that (though he'd probably make light saber noises when he wave the sword about, and try to 'use the force'...) Aramis can do RE - assuming that he's not busy elsewhere Dog can do PE. Porthos - meh. Can he cook? Let's say that he can cook.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 27/04/2020 08:18

Morning wenches. Grin at let’s say he can cook, and Dog teaching PE. I love the teaching staff suggestion.

Just thought, MrApricot might be a bit suspicious when Apricot is encouraging him to go up on the roof.

Lots of work coming through for the week so DS2 and I need to make his week’s plan. At least the weather’s gone a bit rubbish so I’m not tempted to just sit in the sun.
