New thread offically open, complete with Wine Gin [ brew] etc. And Hayloft. Speaking of which...

Afternoon. DH has returned with loads of muddy washing.

Never had parking permits when I was at work Helen, but DD has trouble with them. She gets in half an hour later than everyone else and often can't find a space on the staff car park, although she pays for one. Consequently she has to park elsewhere and then risks getting fined for being in the wrong place.

That crisp sandwich sounds lovely LetUs, but I did actually just throw some oven chips in and had them with, yes, an egg! They are indeed very useful. Good heavens, what were you drinking that gave you that dream? Wink There's so much bonkersness in there you'd be a delight to a dream interpreter.

Ah, you can't compete with a patch of sunlight where cats are concerned Fancy.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/02/2020 17:27

Watching Ireland/Scotland. I was busy in the garden for the Wales match...

Did some errands in town today. Bought a couple of pairs of shoes. There were some owls as part of an exhibition sort of thing, some of them were tiny!

I do envy a cat when it’s lying in sunlight. at misnamed pundit Grin

That sounds a total pain for your DD Apricot. I think the last thing I ate before bed was a tangerine. Fruit is obviously a bad idea.

DS2 and homework has not gone so well today. Sigh. I think I’ve run out of ideas.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/02/2020 22:38

Hurrah for shoes and sunny cats; boo for homework (DS has done none of his today), and now for the hayloft...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 01/02/2020 22:58

Hayloft for me too. I have steered clear of any snacks before bedtime so my dreams shall be HBF filled bonanzas.

LetUsPrey · 02/02/2020 10:40

Morning wenches.

Have had my Sunday morning treat of watching Secret Scotland. About to start the ironing. No, really, I am.

DH has been explaining to me how we should approach DS2’s homework with him. If only this was already everything I’ve already done and still do. But it’ll work 100% of the time now because DH has suggested it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/02/2020 11:31

Morning all. I have lots of tidying plans for today.

FFS re homework plans LetUs - Well, MrLetus will just have to (re)do them all with DS2 and find out for himself. Yes? (Bet that that doesn't happen)

It's been raining overnight.this morning and outside is damp and gloomy. I was planting a tree last week, and hit the watertable while I was digging the hole. Sad Perhaps we should be building an ark.

FancyFancy · 02/02/2020 11:40

Morning
I think there's a Punch cartoon about that letus

ApricotCrush · 02/02/2020 17:27

Afternoon. Nothing to report here, just washing and ironing and usual stuff.

Think I'll do something exciting tomorrow and go to town. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 02/02/2020 18:29

That’s exactly what it felt like Fancy.

Very similar here today Apricot. Washing and ironing. Homework is ongoing. I’ll be cracking open a bottle of cider when this is done.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/02/2020 21:08

Oooh, HBFs in wetsuits Grin not quite as good as Athos dipped in chocolate, but I can have fun peeling the wetsuits off.

I'm fairly sure that you can get that cartoon as a card.

I have done the house tidying stuff today, and DS has done a tiny bit of homework Hmm, and we have watched Doctor Who - including Grimaud being all clean-shaved and short hairs and not grubby - but still Northern Grin

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 02/02/2020 21:52

Always northern Grin

Adam Driver is at the BAFTAS. Camera keeps cutting to him in the audience. Looking very FAF.

Was listening to one of the speeches that I was actually interested in. DH came in and started talking over it, asking stuff that could have waited. It’s a good job the pie he made tonight was amazing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/02/2020 22:35

FFS.

I need sleep... night all.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 02/02/2020 22:43

Night Helen. Athos heard about your idea of peeling clothes off. He approves.

Hayloft for me too.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/02/2020 08:00

Morning all.

It's liiiiiiiiiiiight! It's nearly light enough that I can feed the chickens before DS leaves for the bus! The mini irises are out, so are some of the daffs! Oh, and I saw the barn owl before it saw me this morning, which meant that I got to play musical statues while it flew up the headland to about 10 yards away, then veered off in a slightly startled way.

Um. That's all really, apart from v. disconcerting dream about DS parents evening where the school was crap and we were considering taking him out and moving to a different school. Could have done without that one.

Oh well - hope everyone else has sunshine and spring this morning...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 03/02/2020 08:10

Morning wenches.

That sounds like a pretty good morning so far Helen —ignores dream—. Were you singing and skipping a la Snow White through the garden?

Not a great night’s sleep last night. Got some training this week at work but can’t remember if it’s today or tomorrow. Either way, there’d better be biscuits.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/02/2020 08:15

To be fair, the bit through the garden was less skipping more doing side-eyes at mole hills and carrying a bucket, and emptying the bloody mousetrap - again But it's all spring-like and I could quite easily channel Snow-White this morning. Am also willing to choke on apples if the right HBF gets to snog me awake and live happily ever after with me. Grin Or he can choke on the apples and I'll snog him awake. I'm easy like that. On many levels.

ApricotCrush · 03/02/2020 16:32

Afternoon. No sunshine here, but the garden is looking a bit springy and the snowdrops are out at the end of the road which always cheers me up.

Went to town and hurt my side lugging a heavy basket round Poundland for my trouble. Hmm

I saw Adam Driver too. I said to DH 'Ooooh that's the actor WW perves over likes.' I think the film he was nominated for was at the Sundance Festival with The Souvenir, which is nowhere to be seen in the awards in spite of critical acclaim. Confused To my shame I haven't watched it yet, although I received the DVD for Christmas.

Grimaud was in Deadwater Fell too, which we finished last night. Bit of a damp squib.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 03/02/2020 18:50

I don't , I simply appreciate his enormous talent Wink

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/02/2020 20:42

Wicked Grin

We are watching the Dara O'Briain 'Voice of Reason' show - shrieking with laughter. (There's a piece about 11yo searching, after typo and autocorrect, for "Knackered Boobies"... Grin Grin Grin ) I do wish I'd get ticket to that show... I do with I didn't live in the back of beyond where no-one ever comes to do shows like that... though the wildlife does make up for it, a bit. Mostly. Would also like HBFs on tap (or on me, more accurately).

Ouch apricot - you'll have to recline on the chaise and relax (with Athos - obvs). The Souvenir is very good, but not something to watch for light, fluffy entertainment.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 03/02/2020 21:29

Evening wenches.

Tiiiiiiirrrrrreeeedddddd.

On how many levels would you say you’re easy Helen? Grin

Athos will rub you better Apricot.

It’s important to be thorough in one’s appreciation Wicked Wink

I went to that tour Helen - or at least I saw him live towards the end of 2018. Laughing to the point of being unable to breathe properly Grin

I sent DS2 up to bed a while ago. I think he may have got waylaid watching DS1 play his computer game. I’d best go and see what he’s doing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/02/2020 22:08

Where Athos is concerned, I am easy on every level possible LetUs Grin (And some that aren't, but I'll give them a go...)

On that note, I need a bath. I am trying very hard to do exercise and proper stretching every day (without having actually put a yoga youtube session on). Then when I go the the physio about my achy back/shoulders/neck (and she makes me cry) I can sob say that I'm already working on sorting it out....

LetUsPrey · 04/02/2020 07:48

Morning wenches.

Athos is demonstrating some stretches Helen. (Except I can’t find that gif so he’s on his way to you to show you in person)

Bit bloody windy here. I shall have to tether myself to various HBFs. Health and safety you know.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/02/2020 08:26

Oh FFS at refreshing a page then realising that my message didn't post. Angry

So...
Health and Safety - yes LetUs - v important. Are you using chains or ropes? Or both?

Weather - bloody biting wind out there today, but currently not raining (but don't hold your breath)

Wildlife report - two sparrowhawks, one cormorant and an unidentified large bird of prey that was too small far away for me to identify it.

Have a good day all.
