I know exactly what you mean about that episode and series of Cracker Helen.

FancyDD sounds a bit like DS1. She’ll be super.

Evening out was lovely. Food (Thai) was delicious but I didn’t drink much as I’ve tons to do tomorrow and I’m a complete lightweight at the moment.

Going to watch Picard now. Mark Ruffalo is on GN but I’m recording it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/02/2020 23:07

Hayloft...

Night all. I have to take DS shopping for walking boots tomorrow, needed for half term Think of me kindly...

All the luck Helen

Santi was in Picard. Santi is as hot and amazing as ever.

LetUsPrey · 08/02/2020 08:50

Morning wenches.

that’s to make the walking boots shopping go easily and quickly and they’ll be in a sale too.

Going into town this morning including a visit to the library. Going to see if I can learn how to crochet. I could crochet about 35 years ago but no idea now. Tried YouTube videos but I think I’ll find it easier with a book. Be even easier with someone showing me but I don’t know anyone!

FancyFancy · 08/02/2020 12:16

Mmmmmm, Thai food...

Good luck with the shopping helen.

I need to go into town too, and then I need to do some work - have some hours to catch up from earlier in the week when I was late in. May get myself a little treat some pink wine for this evening as a treat for when I finish.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 08/02/2020 14:45

Hi wenches Smile

I've started a medication for my PMS and sideeffects are anxiety, loss of appetite, nausea and even vomiting so these last couple of weeks have been awful. I'm getting better but still suffer from the sideeffects. The good thing is that I lost weight!
Went to the big recycling center today and got rid of some old matresses, rugs and some other stuff. Couldn't fit everything in the car so going again next weekend. I love chucking stuff away.
Hope all wenches are fine!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/02/2020 14:57

Urgh Wicked - that sounds horrible Sad

DS was a winge-bucket and didn't want to go shopping. His excuse - he has boots already - which last time we tried on he said were uncomfortable and didn't fit. DH has announced that they are a perfect fit for him now and they'll do, so no shopping, just homework hell, and sleepover prep.

DH has the rugby on - lots of thighs tries and Wales are losing. And I've just remembered that I've only hung out half of the washing. FFS. etc.

Norah used to do lots of crochet - I think she recommended YouTube, but it depends how good the videos are at showing what's going on.

Need to hang out washing.

Ugh ww that does not sound pleasant - hope the meds actually work so you get some benefit from them. Hurrah for chucking stuff out though - so therapeutic. I have freecycled two things this week and sold a couple of things on ebay too Smile

Just get an 'I told you so' sticker for your forehead when the inevitable happens helen

Have just spent an annoying few minutes sorting out podcasts - latest bloody iTunes update changed the settings for how many podcasts it saved - & so got rid of a load of old ones I had downloaded & am working through. They really are fuckers. I still haven't forgiven Apple for downloading that U2 album automatically - like I want them on my playlist Angry

ApricotCrush · 08/02/2020 17:26

Afternoon. Windy here, the washing dried on the line. Smile

Oooh, LetUs, I can crochet, although I haven't done any for years.

Good luck with the sleepover Helen.

Hope you feel better soon WW. Flowers

That is annoying Fancy, I hate it when updates make things worse and you wish you could go back to how it was before. Angry

Wine for all wenches in need pink for Fancy.

LetUsPrey · 08/02/2020 19:44

Many many Wicked. Hopefully the side effects will soon subside and you’ll feel the effects of the meds.

Do the shoes actually fit Helen or was that just MrHelen deciding they fit? We may have had a similar situation here a few years ago

I’ve been downloading a lot of stuff off BBC Sounds to listen to in the car. It’s brilliant.

Crocheting is very much at the beginner stage. I’ll persevere but arts and crafts are not generally my forte. Still, it’ll hopefully stop me from snacking.

I’m definitely having an early night. I’m full of a cold and look like shit. Woe etc.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/02/2020 22:03

About to go an turn out the lights on the sleepover... DS says that his toes are right at the end of the boots, just touching the ends. I think this is a recipe for disaster, but ho hum. There won't be that much walking in them so... It will be fine, or it won't. (Hopefully it will be fine, because much as I like to be right, I don't want to be faffing about with DS on holiday saying that his feet hurt.)

Just watching Graham Norton with Patrick Stewart. Grin

Morning all. Hope all wenches are battened down. Garden looks mostly in one piece so far - have rescued the hanging bird table from the floor and I suspect we'll need to re-felt one of the sheds by the end of today. Otherwise, everything (apart from next door's bins) seems to be coping. Admittedly, the laurel tree looks like it's headbanging at a death metal concert Confused.

LOL - our woodpecker is being very determined this morning - it's hanging onto the fat square holder for grim death and being bounced about in the wind while it gets some breakfast!

LetUsPrey · 09/02/2020 10:27

Morning wenches.

We’ve taken the garden swing down so it doesn’t fall over. No damage yet here although I’m a bit concerned about all the crap in next door’s garden flying about.

Grin at determined woodpecker. I think they played the John Peel stage at Glastonbury last year.

I am ironing whilst watching Cadfael.

FancyFancy · 09/02/2020 10:57

Pretty windy here too - am staying in cuddling ScaredyCat , the purring helps drown out the sound of the wind.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/02/2020 11:34

The Determined Woodpecker's support band is the Hard Core Blue Tits, who don't mind the nut feeder swinging constantly from vertical to horizontal and back again while they cling on and stuff their faces with peanuts Grin

GrinGrin at Hard Core Blue Tits

Hope wenches and their surroundings have remained safe and secure. We’ve not had any damage yet. It’s started raining sideways again so I’ve shut the blinds to ignore it.

I’ve watched a Poirot and am now watching Secret Scotland. I really want a packet of crisps but I shall have some fruit instead.

ApricotCrush · 09/02/2020 17:16

Afternoon. We seem to be alright here, although the pampas in the front garden is looking very sorry for itself. I think we'll have to cut it down, but it soon comes back.

Grin at Helen's birds as rock bands.

LetUsPrey · 09/02/2020 19:54

Everywench surviving so far?

I’m watching Great Pottery Throw Down. More people being amazingly creative whilst I watch on in wonder.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/02/2020 20:54

Evening. We had horizontal torrential rain this afternoon and localised flooding, but all good in the grand scheme of things. Hope everyone else is ok and no-one has acquired next door's shed/trampoline/garden furniture

We have watched Death in Paradise and Doctor Who. DS is in the bath, and DH is watching football.

DH keeps making cheery noise about 'this time next week' (being half term holiday). I keep thinking that we need to start the packing lists and making sure we have everything (apart from the new walking boots which aren't needed...)

And MN is being an arse and not letting me post... Hmm

Grinat the multiple posts

MrHelen and DH are very similar. He’s very much as soon as he finishes work for the family holiday “hurrah my holiday’s started!”

Excellent illustration Helen

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/02/2020 07:55

Morning all. Still windy here but not as bad as yesterday. Also clear and sunny, so that's a bonus.

No wildlife to report other than a flock of seagulls.
