Hope things get back to semblance of normality soon, www. Nice to have you back again

ScroogeMacDog · 23/12/2007 18:13

I keep forgetting you have different Sunday shopping rules in Englandshire ! We have a free for all up here, apart from booze before 12.30 on a Sunday. We have 24 hour shopping insanity (not always a good thing)

Enjoy your hot choc/cream/mallows !!

ScroogeMacDog · 24/12/2007 11:57

I seem to be able to log in and view posts, just not actually post myself, so no doubt I'll have bogged off by the time you see this.

Was at pil yesterday for lunch and my sis, brother and his girlfriend and my parents came here today. Had the most delicious roast lamb roasties, purple carrots, brocolli, mash and beans. Chocolate orange trifle for pudding and chocolate cake too. Got bullied into letting dd have chocolate yesterday! She calls it cockcock...how embarrassing. Dh said he wanted a hot chocolate and dd repeated hot cockcock.....

I got a camera for Christmas, a months trial at a gym, Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell and a couple of paintings of dd and ds by dh.

Macdog · 27/12/2007 10:52

Nice to have you back, even if it only for short bursts

I'm back! At my cousin's in Lancaster yesterday for lunch, then back to pack for a night away. I was going to a school reunion, and dh was out with his friends in his home town. Dd stayed with his parents', and ds stayed at my aunt and uncle's where I was staying and my cousin babysitting.

Anyway Dh managed to cut his hand quite badly on a piece of glass he stepped in coming out of the pub. He pulled it out of his shoe and gashed himself. He thought it would be a quick in and out job at casualty, but he got there at 3, wasn't even triaged until 4. I drove home at that point because the kids were asleep in the car and were likely to wake up soon. Anyway there was no glass in it and he will be home in an hour, but flipping heck the silly sod.

Macdog · 29/12/2007 19:46

Good to have company again!!
(Ok, this proves I am the only one without a life )

Sympathy to your dh, hope he's better soon.

Got a bargain today. Got dd a table and 2 chair set (similar to IKEA MAMMUT range) in Woolworths for £5!! She's already got all her colouring stuff laid out on it and has kept her entertained for AGES!!

Few snow flurries here, but not come to much

Catch up soon

OP posts:
Jennster · 29/12/2007 20:53

Oooh snow lovely. DH is a pain in the arse now. He is fine, but is dressed so he can't get his hand wet so bathing children is down to me. Thing is I fell off the top step into the house in front of dd while getting everything into the house from the car. It's only a foot, and it didn't hurt at first, but I think I've pulled something. It blummin well hurts now. She was upset at seeing me sprawled on the path, and has been a little madam all afternoon. She didn't eat any dinner and then wasn't keen on going to bed. She bit ds on the cheek and left a horrid welt........ I am now having a glass of wine and ready to go to bed.

Macdog · 30/12/2007 17:15

Err...rubber glove (gauntlet style washing up glove) will cover a dressing perfectly and allow bathing of children

Can relate to having a little madam, we stopped at local pub for lunch today and dd promptly decided she didn't want to eat. Wanted to run in and out the pub door.
Or she'd scream
Finally got her to eat lunch while admiring the pub's Christmas tree.
Couldn't get out of there fast enough

Other than that we're all good. Hoope you're all feeling better soon, x

OP posts:
Jennster · 30/12/2007 19:19

Well I got him to buy the rubber gloves, and told him to get water proof tape, but they gave him micropore instead.

Had my gym induction today. Was really pissed off I waited 30 mins for him to turn up, because the numbskull on the desk had forgotten to tell him I had turned up. I asked to do core stability exercises because they are good for getting your tummy back, and the instructor was shocked about how bad I was at them.

Jennster · 30/12/2007 19:23

And madam wouldn't eat lunch again. When she realised she wasn't getting bread or anything else she asked to go to bed for a nap!

Needless to say she scoffed dinner.

Macdog · 31/12/2007 10:22

Can't get going this morning at all. Just feel completely drained. dd up at 7.30 with a flood of Biblical proportions in her nappy. She's sneezing away here, think she's in for the cold. Never mind though, could be worse

A guid New Year when it comes and all the very best for 2008!!

OP posts:
Macdog · 31/12/2007 16:52

dd much recovered after a long nap and a session of painting

My house is a hot bed of mucousy vomit, snot, sulks, tantrums and cute 'I'm not well faces'

Happy New Year everybody.

Having a small gathering, done lots of canapes and a salad and a boozy chocolate orange trifle. Vintage Codorniu on offer from Tesco half price.....HIC

Jennster · 01/01/2008 16:17

Been for lovely walk today with the family and bil. Only problem is now I am lying on the floor with a heat pack on my back. I'm in an awful lot of pain. Seriously need to go back to a physiotherapist to sort out my sciatica.

Happy New Year everybody.

Jennster · 01/01/2008 16:17

An my baby won't be my baby any more in less than three weeks!

worleywinterwonderland · 01/01/2008 20:45

hello and a happy new year to you all.
i worked last night and it was really really busy. our hospital had over 900 ambulance drop offs yesterday. luckily on new years they have 2 radiographers on duty otherwise i would never have coped with them all, bloody people getting drunk, and the men bottling each other!!! one of them had a big gash across his cheek which kind of zigzagged, i told him he was going to have a harry potter scar but in the wrong place!! he wasnt impressed but at 4am these things kind of slip out of my mouth and i cant stop telling them home truths, like tutting at the lasy who called an ambulance because she hurt her wrist and decided she couldnt drive, AND it wasnt even broken........

otherwise, we have had a nice day, dp is at work, i jave just eaten ds1's ripple out of a selection box, so i have to replace it tomorrow!!

and oh my god, just seen an advert for my fake baby on c4 on weds, it looks gross!! who on earth wants one of those

worleywinterwonderland · 01/01/2008 20:46
