Hello

Thought I'd better do a new one cos 'chat' threads go after 90 days

OP posts:
Jennster · 20/11/2007 16:45

Dictionary lists both spellings.

Jennster · 20/11/2007 16:46

I know. The Pharmacist is ALWAYS the bad guy. Accept on Doc Martin.

Jennster · 20/11/2007 16:46

Except not accept

Macdog · 20/11/2007 19:45

Congratulations Auntie JW !!!

Glad things went well.

Been out buying dd yet more ruddy shoes, now 4½G. The only reason I keep telling you lot is so I can come back and find out when I bought the last ones (25/9)
She's taken another stretch up again. Trousers that used to require a turn-up now are at half mast

Jennster · 20/11/2007 21:16

Just realised some of the trousers dd is wearing that are too short are 9-12 months! DS today wore a 6-9 month vest that was too small. He has popeye arms and legs.

Jennster · 20/11/2007 21:17

And that's 2-1 to Auntie-Aunty

JoanWilder · 21/11/2007 15:09

IMO Auntie looks cuter...I am a very vvery visual person (NLP)

dh at the eye specialist today he's very worried about his eye, he had a corneal graft 10yrs ago and its feeling very odd.
(keratacanus)sp????
Hope its alright, I hope it's just another stitch finally working its way out...

JoanWilder · 21/11/2007 15:09

I say Arnty as anty sounds odd to me...

JoanWilder · 21/11/2007 15:11

about something that happened at playgroup today, a 3yrold wouldnt say thankyou for a dolly (FGS) so her childminder sat her on a chair, crying, for ages, then stood her at the back of the hall talking to her, she cried for nearly an hour, then the woman dragged all of her charges out, saying 'well we have to go because Charlotte has no manners...' on and on and on the poor kid, I almost cried, If I were her mother Id be devastated

JoanWilder · 21/11/2007 15:14

I effing hate all the childminders I see at playgroup, there are 7/8 of them with upwards of 3 kids each in their care, the kids are left crying in buggies for 30 mins + while the minders natter and slurp coffee, when I think how much they are bloody paid I wouldnt trust any of them...one uses her daughter and they have 7 babies and toddlers between them, there is no control, no caring, snot running down their faces, how the hell can you watch over 7 kids at once. Bloody ridiculous.

Jennster · 21/11/2007 16:09

DH says anty. Thinks I'm betraying my merseyside roots by saying arnty.

Poor little mite. You don't get told off for not saying thankyou in my house, only not saying sorry. In that sort of situation, I would say it's very difficult to get a child to concentrate on that sort of thing when there are so many children about and so much going on.

Jennster · 21/11/2007 16:16

depending on the age of course.

Macdog · 21/11/2007 17:10

Hope Mr JW is ok, fingers crossed it's not serious

Absolutely chucking it down here, so dd and I walked dogger and we have spent a happy afternoon being messy.
ALL the toys, colouring books and crayons are out and we have had SO much fun. The place looks like several bombs have hit, but on the plus side we found nearly all the stacking cups and some books that were lurking in the bottom of the toys bag.
As I type, my dd is running round with a pelican bib round her neck and a swim nappy on her head !!

(I say Anty BTW)

OP posts:
Jennster · 21/11/2007 20:27

What does nlp mean?

Sorry missed the bit about Mr JW. keratoconus? Hope he's ok.

Haggis Neaps Tatties and spinach for dinner tonight. Was DELICIOUS. Dd scoffed the haggis.

Macdog · 22/11/2007 17:09

Last swim today before Christmas and it was achieved TANTRUM FREE !!
Going out tonight to watch Christmas lights switch-on. Taking dd in her backpack so she doesn't get trampled.
Our town's light up is the stuff of legend. A few years ago the local news programme did a live link up to see the lights go on, and the people responsible f*cked up on live TV (made it onto All Right on the Night). Another year the funfair set up, only for it to be discovered that the Councillor hadn't got the entertainment licence and it was all shut down again!
People turn up to see what will go wrong this year

Have got dinners all made ready for eating when we get back (fish pie - again!!)

OP posts:
Macdog · 22/11/2007 17:10

Hate to do this Jenn, but it's NEEPS

OP posts:
Jennster · 22/11/2007 17:19

Thanks macdog. Never seen it written down before. Enjoy the lights. Shepherd's pie brocolli, carrots and peas

Macdog · 22/11/2007 20:08

Lights were fab!
dd went noisily bonkers watching all the lights and sights.
And she met Santa!!

Off now to bung dinner in oven.

Have a good night folks

OP posts:
Jennster · 22/11/2007 22:12

worleybear · 22/11/2007 22:58

congratulations auntie jw (arnty)

we had shepards pie too, but we didnt get to see the lights switch on as im covering someone at work whos off sick, we had planned to go, but im thinking of more xmas money and as its ds1's birthday next week all the pennies count.

Jennster · 23/11/2007 10:51

Just emailed a shopping list to dh. He is own boss which is great because he can leave work mostly when he wants. We are having spaghetti with basil, almonds, garlic, parmesan and fresh uncooked cherry tomatoes. Yummy. We have friends over tonight but having to eat in 2 shifts. Dh and his friend the non smoking smoker are going to Blackpool to see Half Man Half Biscuit, and his wife (the Glaswegian whose wedding we were in Glasgow for Macdog) is staying with me. I will need a hand entertaining dd while I put ds to sleep.

JoanWilder · 23/11/2007 11:41

we had a full English grill-up for dinner last night...sausage, bacon, eggs, tinned toms, beans and hash browns gorgeous.

luckilly dh's eye is ok...he needed some false tears as it's dried out a bit thanks to central heating, car heater blowing etc etc so phew.

going to see my nephew tonight!! bad timing really as it's her day 3...aka hormones/milk etc, so we'll not stay long.

32 days till christmas! Ive wrappeed up a load of stuff, so organised..but have also run out of money with about 10 presents left to get
be back on monday as am working sun. XX

Jennster · 23/11/2007 12:14

It has just taken me 40 mins to travel a 4 mile round trip to pick up my new nursing bras from the post office. Would only have taken me 1hr 15 with the pram #(lots of hills)

Ordered a university prospectus yesterday....Would I be mad to retrain?

Macdog · 23/11/2007 18:27

It's COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD!!!!!!!

All icy/frosty and wintry!

dd managed a day at M&T without a strop !

OP posts:
Jennster · 24/11/2007 09:40

Same here macdog. Freezing last night, so bad I thought there would be a hard frost on the cars this morning, but at 5.30 it was gone and now it's cold and wet. Apparently dh came to bed at 3 this morning. He has a stinky hangover and has to deal with dd HA HA!
