Hello

Thought I'd better do a new one cos 'chat' threads go after 90 days

OP posts:
Jennster · 16/11/2007 20:53

JW pass on our regards to your sister from your errrr nerdy internet friends.

Roast organic chicken with mashed new potatoes (heaven) brocolli and peas with gravy yum yum yum yum yum yum

DD had her 2 year check today. I thought she was a little (and I mean a little) slow, but HV was over the moon at her social interaction, playing skills, eating habits.
HV said naughty for some reason and DD thought she was referring to her and got upset. I felt so sorry for her. Made feel dreadful. She hid her face and went quiet.

Has anybody seen this thread? WARNING Made me cry reading it. Your opinions please?

i hat the whole birthday party thing, it is much better when your ds/dd's are older and have a small group of friends, last year i tokk ds1 and 2 of his friends to see some rat film about something i cant remeber and then came round for tea at ours before their mums picked them up, but when he was ickle ickle it was the thing that ALL the kids were invitied from the class for their parties. whic werent too bad for us as he is in the first term intake (sept) and as such there were about 17 children, after that each term added about 15-20 kids and the parents kept inviting the whole class!! and when you think its about £6.50 a head for a party its a whole lot of lolly.

luckily this year, he having a laser quest party at the gym and its mainly free as a lot of the kids are members there (at various judo, swimming , dance clubs and so they play the quest free) and then its £2.50 a head for food.

i dont plan in buying in to the party thing at nursery for ds2, one mum did have abig party for their 1st but theres no way im doing that. connor did have a 4th party at nursery but thats it.

worleybear · 16/11/2007 22:13

this is my 3rd weekend in a row im working then i have next weekend off!!!!! yahoo, heaven

Jennster · 16/11/2007 22:54

God I haven't worked a weekend since July last year. I had to work EVERY saturday, but only 9-1 and have worked on a sat since I was 13. Buggered up your weekend though. I used to go home, scoff some lunch and go straight back to bed for a nap. Sigh those were the days before children when I used to go to work with a hangover. Sigh.

worleybear · 17/11/2007 14:55

oh god, i dont think i could cope with a hangover at work any more, let alone at home with two boys here as well. i feel nausious just thinking about it. i remeber going oiut a friday night , drinking lots or pernod and black (cannot stand the smell of it now) and being sick during the night, i got up late fore work and knew all morning that i had to scrub the carpet when i got home as it was still there, and it stained the carpet. i had a trainee vet nurse with me and i wouldnt let her in the flat till i had cleaned it all up! those were the days.

worleybear · 17/11/2007 15:00

just ordered ds2 a tickle me elmo from boots for xmas. it was in there 3 for 2 so also got ds1 monopoly and another monopoly free to send to dp's brother and his wife in america for xmas. have a list of things still to get and am getting through them slowly, i've ds2 some stuff from ebay which is cheaper, like audio book cd's he likes, im trying to cut back a bit as he always get too much. i got him the transformers ps2 game he wants for his brithday as a pre owned in Game so saved £15 there too. im trying to not have to use my credit card this year.... suppossedley anyway. (sorry i cant spell that JW)

JoanWilder · 17/11/2007 15:23

ahhh the birthday table thing was evil. what a crap teacher and let-down of a headmistress,,,tbh Id take it to the governors as they are supposed to have no bullying and that encourages it...what has that got to do with school anyway? parties are for out of school hours surely? or theyll be too hyper in the afternoon???

dumbasses.
went xmas shopping today with dh and dd quite fun round mothercare and toys r us, m/care doing buy one get 2nd half price on all toys so saved a few quid. got dd
one of those old school telephone toys, and a pull along doggy. we'll get her a few more bits but cannot go mad this year. cannot!

Macdog · 17/11/2007 15:56

I'm dreading the whole birthday politics/backstabbing stuff.

We had a lovely night away, got soooooo drunk you wouldn't believe !! Was on pints of cider and blackcurrant, yummy !!
Went out about 6ish, rolled back to hotel about 12.30ish. Back home lunchtime, went to liberate Macwoof and took him for a walk.
At the kennels it was so funny, the block he was in was almost entirely populated by gundogs and away at the back out of the way of all the 'nice' dogs. As we walked along the blocks you could sense the IQs dropping as you got nearer to his block. He was beside a black lab who was wearing woodshavings as a hat !!

dh gone for a lie down to recharge his batteries before going out to cheer on the boys. I'm staying in and heading for a bubble bath

36 days till christmas...goodness!

JoanWilder · 18/11/2007 14:39

lol at 'kennel politics' MD!!! the dumbass dogs to the rear!!!

JoanWilder · 18/11/2007 14:40

when I use the word 'dumbass' too much it's because Ive been watching too much 'that 70s show'...

Macdog · 18/11/2007 17:09

There's no such thing as too much 'That 70s Show' JW. It totally rocks !!

I've hit a really down day today. Picked dd up from PIL, brought her home and she's just screamed for 20 mins straight. I just wanted to run away and leave her to it. Was cuddling her when dh started taking over so I screamed at him instead. Been a really nasty bitch to him today. Just not coping at the moment. Hate the way PIL talk down and patronise me about dd.
Dreading M&T tomorrow. Can't face another round of tantrums and screaming from dd.
Unfortunately I gotta deal with it

OP posts:
Jennster · 18/11/2007 17:23

Chin up Macdog. Sending you some harmony peace and love vibes. I wasn't the usual bitch I normally am on a Sunday so we all had a lovely day. Got to church on time, got back fed ds, went on a long walk down to the dock, onto the river, into town through the park and arrived at Pizza Express for lunch. Had a glass of wine with my lunch. Very naughty but very nice. Dd fell asleep on the way home and went straight to bed for a nap. Fed Ds again, took my maternity clothes over the road to a friend and had a cup of tea, came back got dd up from nap and now I'm trying to keep ds awake until bedtime and stop him from being battered by his sister.

Period drama on TV tonight. Yay

JoanWilder · 19/11/2007 15:04

conf? wtf was it called the period drama on last night was really good...dh was bored out of his tree but I MADE him watch it har har

Congless/ what was it called?

Meeting at work last night was hilarious, so glad I went, and we all had pizza hut. awesome.

oh Macdog
you always get down after a dd visit to PIL,,, maybe avoid them in future? or isnt that possible?
dd just acting her age; bless her, plus point - the more she screams the more she'll sleep??

updates please...how old are everyone's kids now?
dd - 17mths

and Jenn, how old was your dd when you got pg with ds?
I know I should already know but forgotted...and this thread arcs back into medieval history

Jennster · 19/11/2007 16:21

Hi JW. DS 4 Months, DD 22 months, DD 9 months when I DS was conceived.

Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell was the period drama. Thought it was hilarious. Absolutely loved it. Set in your neck of the woods. Meant to be based on Knutsford.

Macdog · 19/11/2007 17:52

Been down for a while, JW. Just cope less well with PIL when I feel crappy.
Really tired/sleepy, feeling cold a lot of the time and just not got any va va voom
Being out on Friday has left me really out of sorts. Hopefully thing'll pick up.

Thanks for support guys (over a year now )

Jennster · 19/11/2007 21:25

Just think Macdog. This Christmas will be better than last for the following reasons.

Macpup will understand SO much more than last year. She will get excited at unwrapping presents, excited at unwrapping tangerines, but not so much that she won't go to sleep and wake at 5 am to see if Father Christmas has been

You're not breast feeding, so can get s**tfaced (well more than last year anyway)

Macdog · 20/11/2007 12:22

And you forgot to add the Christmas tree will be up for a nanosecond before it's couped over and in bits

OP posts:
Jennster · 20/11/2007 14:02

Yeah. Last year we had trouble finding a Christmas Tree we left it so late. This year I've heard there might be a Christmas Tree shortage. We are putting our's up in a fortnight. DH usually hates Christmas. Not sure why, but the year he got shingles and was out of action completely for 3 weeks was his best Christmas ever. Not so fun for me.

JoanWilder · 20/11/2007 14:50

JoanWilder · 20/11/2007 14:53

ps did you guys hear the news that 15million children's child benefit info has gone missing...

aka our kids names, addresses, phone nos, ages, our bank details and what we earn!
Alistair Dumbass is making an emergency commons statement at 3.30pm

Jennster · 20/11/2007 14:58

Yes just heard it but none of the details......

Congratulations Aunty JW.

Watching Diagnosis Murder and once again the pharmacist is the bad guy. We are an evil bunch when it comes to TV dramas.

JoanWilder · 20/11/2007 15:01

the pharmacist guy on desperate housewives killed Bree's husband!!

JoanWilder · 20/11/2007 15:02

ooh Jenn is it Auntie or Aunty as we both used a diff version?
is Auntie plural?

Jennster · 20/11/2007 16:35

Think both versions are acceptable. Plural definitely aunties. Do you say arnty or antie? Have to admit to southern arnty.
