Starkies Beeswax Creams
Think I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I'll happily link again

I am a happy mummy tonight. Made dd fish pie with haddock and smoked salmon and she scoffed the lot. And ate what fell in her pelican bib. And licked her fingers.
Hurrah for fish pie !!!!

Macdog · 08/11/2007 17:56

The only tune in my head is 'The wheels on the bus', cos it was the last game we played at swimming today.

My name is Macdog, and I am not a funky momma

dd and I watched phantom of the opera again today
she shocked me when she sang along to the 'ah ah ah ' bit by La Carlotta before she sings like a toad. I worship that film, I want to be in a phantom/Raoul sandwich

dd has also started saying 'No' today, very funny.

And my sister who gets married in 18months has already become a bridezilla. god help me she wants me to do a reading.

JoanWilder · 08/11/2007 21:28

phantom site

Jennster · 08/11/2007 22:20

Hello!

Don't think we are going to manage another holiday in the very near future. Think we managed to split up my sister's relationship and her dp is going for the snip at the earliest opportunity which is a shame, because sis is clucky and wants to get married.

Had a fab time, but very tired.

Fill you in tomorrow night night.

ScareBear · 08/11/2007 23:15

hello, no im not a funky momma just listen to chris moyles on the way to work and it was the last song i heard.

we're on flood alert tonight so wether you will hear from me again i dont know!! we are even on the bbc news24!

i just finshed work at 10.00pm and drove home through the town so i could see how high the water was and it was only about 1 meter form coming over the edge of the dock, normally it is a good 3-4 meters down the wall. im on call over night, and as they are talking about closing the bridges i will have trouble getting in if there is an emergency, so fingers crossed. apparentrly if there is they will give me a code to give the police to let me through, i felt really importsnt then!!

ScareBear · 08/11/2007 23:32

oh dear, i was look at wellies today as well and decided not to get any

Macdog · 09/11/2007 09:40

Welcome back, Jennster
Are you all right Scarebear? grown webbed feet yet?

(I'll keep quiet about our lovely sunshine here then )

Any word on the bub yet, JW?

OP posts:
JoanWilder · 09/11/2007 14:48

no bub...little sowenso is keeping us all on tenterhooks

last shift tonight then 2 blissful weeks off (apart from the store xmas meeting a week on sunday which I really should go in for ,,,at least there'll be free pizza...)

JoanWilder · 09/11/2007 14:48

erm

sowenso
so-and-so
sowensew
wtf!!!!

JoanWilder · 09/11/2007 14:49

good luck with those floods SB!!!

Macdog · 09/11/2007 15:35

On subject of so-and-so's, dd has entered the lovely stage of TANTRUMS
She threw right strops at M&T this morning, hurling herself face down onto ground while screaming at top of lungs.
I'm finding it quite hard to deal with, despite everyone being really supportive about it. Just find myself getting really uptight and upset

OP posts:
Jennster · 09/11/2007 16:58

Was thinking of you last night when I heard about the floods on the news SB.

Just finished cutting out sparkly stars for the top of Ds's Christening Cake. My mum's making it tonight, and the Christening is on Sunday.

DD starting with tantrums too, especially if you don't pick her up when she says hug when she holds her arms up. It was cute at first, but now it's just hurting my back. Huggy, huggy, huggy, huggy. Why she has started adding a y onto the end of words she was saying very well before I don't know.

Jennster · 09/11/2007 17:00

On the subject of strops, dh and I have been very good about holding our ground and not giving in to her. She wanted the second green towel in the pile of clean ones when we were using the beige ones last night. Tough love. We are soooo cruel to her.

JoanWilder · 10/11/2007 14:38

lol at towel-wars
MD its perfectly normal to feel upset...those naughty little toddlers just know which buttons to press...

Macdog · 10/11/2007 16:39

Thanks JW.
Always easier at weekends when dh is here to take flak as well

OP posts:
JoanWilder · 10/11/2007 22:44

well Im off for a while now as we travel to see the inlaws and my best pals baby dd, and wait to see if anything else happens to make me an auntie...

she is booked in to schedule an induction if nowts happened by thurs...

Jennster · 12/11/2007 10:10

Christening went well. The aftermath is not great though. Loads to do and think about Christmas, Injections thurs, 4 month 2 year checks fri, ENT appt on Sat, return dishes today, write thank you notes today, finish holiday unpacking and washing and ironing, finish painting attic bedroom so dd can go up there, move ds into his own room (I know it's early but he talks and laughs so loud in the night the neighbours heard it) buy duvet and bedding for dd, agggh

Note to self, writing it on mn isn't going to get any of it done. Luckily the battery on my ds lite has gone and not sure where the charger is so that should stop me faffing for a while. Bye bye, might not be around for a while.

Good luck with neice/nephew jw

ScareBear · 12/11/2007 20:53

hello

well what an anticlimax the supossed flodding was, luckily!! i think it missed us and hit further down the coast, yes the tide was really really high and nearly crept over the bridges but all was fine.

so as dp dtarts his new job in a few weeks and his car has kind of died, he was going to get a cheap runabout till after xmas and we can afford to get a half decentish car. he was looking on ebay and ended up bidding on a ford probe [bloody men] www.mumsnet.com/Talk/9/421643?stamp=071111172200 so we had to pay him the extra £23 but am not pleased. but at leaset dp has a car with 12months mot and tax and can get to work now.

plus i have just eaten half a box of cadburys fingers, i just cant stop i have had to hide them up now ....

ScareBear · 12/11/2007 20:58

your ds is never 4 m??onths jenster is he?????
god time goes quick!!

my friends sister in law is 23 weeks pregnant and has been getting a lot of stomach pains, so they scanned her and her liver looked abnormal, so after a biopsy they have discovered she has liver cancer(shes 33years old), so they are going to give her a c-section next week, and then take half her liver and start chemo i just didnt know what to say to make her feel better, i told her to come and talk anytime she wants but all i could do was sympathise but what do you say??? its just horrible horrible horrible.

ScareBear · 12/11/2007 21:33

eh oh. i just ate the other half of the fingers.

god i feel sick now

Jennster · 12/11/2007 22:33

Blumming heck, liver cancer at 33 and a very premature baby to deal with

Yup ds 4 months next week and busting out of his 6-9 month sleep suits. He doesn't turn green though.
