DH is not a paparazzo... He was reading his paper I think the gazzettino at the time..BUt how come he was in the zona where the VIPs were ???? Generally most years he is round about where they are seen. Sometimes he even gets to sort of meet them. He sort of met the chap from Ferrari this summer..Note I say sort of ...So are you any the wiser??
Pippi I was going to have no2 ..If I ever get pg in the UK but then there was the scandal about Treliske Hosp in Cornwall so might opt for Vce again. They dont hand out painkillers though and are pretty rigid about travaglio ( sp??) like you stay lying down cant roam round the ward oh well will think about it as and when it happens. But must loose weight first cant cope with the stress of being told I weigh too much every time I go to the doc !!!

Is he a bodyguard? A poliziotto? A mystery shopper? Are there even shops around there? A gondolier? Does he drive a vaporetto? Do tell, the suspense is becoming unbearable.

Now what would a policeman be doing reading a paper ?? Bit hard for a vaporetto driver and a gondolier as well ..for them to be in the area say about 2m away from the stars..

I am sure I have said in a past post what he does...but maybe not !!!

Yes, I'm thinking bodyguard too, but then would he be reading the paper? Wouldn't he be keeping an eye out for crazed fans instead?

Is he one of those people that escort the stars (airport pick ups etc.) on the strength they speak English?

does he own one of those posh boats that they use for taxi in Venice?

LOL at a bodyguard. He does do karate though and I think he looks good in a dark suit !

DH and I did the gondola thing (it was his first time in venice and we were touring italy as 'piccioncini innamorati'). i really liked it actually.

Franca..Must be hard but as you say you will be going back to an area that you know well and at times you were / are homesick. The flat will be piccola but surely it is not for ever you can maybe find something bigger when you are based there . We said we would be here for 4 yrs our contract is a 4+4 and we are still here .. Thanks for luck. Will be chasing another 2 on MOnday . I should be fit living here I did 10 bridges with dd in buggy today and living uo 40 steps but I think I need more active stuff.

Yes, that's exactly how I feel rationally... thatnks rosa . Gosh those bridges are beautiful, but boy they must be a pita with a buggy... perhaps you should start swim in the canals?? . Seriously, I hate going to the gym, bu would you consider it?

Its hard to be rational when you are being torn in 2 places. More than anything when the dc are involved. I know I still miss the Uk soo much but have signed dd for swimming and I will be looking at Nido for next year.

I studied every passegino that existed and I got one that is 4cm longer than most I wanted a 4 wheeler with good suspension. No good a rear facer for here as you will tip the poor child out !! I got a peg perego which has been great but now dd is bigger I have an Inglesina that has good wheels but I have to pull her backwards up the bridges as it is a bit shorter. She loves it as she swings her legs !!
I dont like the snobby gyms where the women dont sweat they look perfect. I am big ( 18+) but I found a nice friendly gym where ther is an older crowd but it is a case of fitting it in with dh who will have dd. As long as I have my mp3 and I manage to go for 2 weeks in a row I should be ok...Its just starting up....
So when will the contract be from?

Ragazze! Andiamo a Venezia! Solo un paio di giorni a Half Term (perche' io insegno quella settimana, ma sono riuscita ad avere quel giovedi' libero e cosi' andiamo da giovedi' a domenica). Sono contentissima e non vedo l'ora! Probabilmente andremo a Treviso sabato, perche' abbiamo il volo presto domenica mattina - forse da amici che abitano li' vicino (ma non sono ancora riuscita a contattarli per chiedere se sono liberi...!).

I'm also concerned that I'll miss the UK... which, sounds ironic I know, but I feel it's more or less the destino of anyone who's lived in more than one place, feeling desperately homesick and then missing the other place... mmmm getting too "philosofical (sp?)".
good, glad you've picked up a gym. I hate posh gyms as well. Pre-kids I joined an unassuming gym here in Exeter, called "sweat and stretch" which was lovely. I went in the mornings, it was me and a few ladies with an average age of 60+. It was lovely. I still can't believe that all that Italian famiglia is not helping you more with the childcare (unless obviously it's you who don't feel comfortable ). What's the weather like? It got a bit colder here today.

Me too, Franca. It has been a funny old summer (RAE-related reasons, mostly... have been working too much). Still quite stressed, but better overall. And very to be going to Italy soon.

Just read down a bit... I'll be looking out for a boat called 'Rosa'!
