buonasera!

OP posts:

Perhaps, but seeing as my Dad's much hairier than my Mum, it's possibly from my Scots redhead grandmother as redheads are supposed to be quite hairy only you can't see it.

And yes, I know that in theory Dads are supposed to be hairier than mums, but I had an ex bf who had less hair on his legs than I did, so it doesn't necessarily follow.

francagoestohollywood · 13/09/2007 21:40

LOL LOL LOL Brang

francagoestohollywood · 13/09/2007 21:44

PippiLangstrump · 13/09/2007 21:47

che e' mangiagalli?

francagoestohollywood · 13/09/2007 21:48

!!! it's the maternity hospital dell'universita' di milano

PippiLangstrump · 13/09/2007 21:49

silvestrini!!!

tie!!

Brangelina · 13/09/2007 21:50

Yes, Mangiagalli. For foetal distress. I have since discovered that they're not very good with dosaggio of the epidurale then overdose the oxytocin to speed things up, loads of peeps had the same problem as me. Apart from that it is a very good hospital, I had my CVS there and the care was excellent.

Brangelina · 13/09/2007 21:50

Enrico Silvestrini?

francagoestohollywood · 13/09/2007 21:51

what's silvestrini? sounds like the name of a carrozzina

francagoestohollywood · 13/09/2007 21:52

i didn't even get an epidurale, if this is of any consolation. excellent antenatal care though

Brangelina · 13/09/2007 21:55

Probably a good job too Franca.

PippiLangstrump · 13/09/2007 21:56

policlinico di PG! I thought I'd throw you two milanese off a bit!! [nasty emoticon]

brang I will be giving birth in one of these hospitals featured in the panorama programme about apalling midwifes and care! How refreshing and reassuring! I might feel safe just walking to the park across the road and hanging from a branch!!!

francagoestohollywood · 13/09/2007 21:56

bah, not sure about that ...

PippiLangstrump · 13/09/2007 21:57

safeRRR

francagoestohollywood · 13/09/2007 21:57

I didn't know you had your dd in perugia pippi! I'm pretty sure you'll be allright. or your dh could pay for the portland hospital

Brangelina · 13/09/2007 21:59

Is it the Barnet General or whatever it's called nowadays? Maybe you should go for a homebirth then. Alternatively you could always come back to Italy just for the birth.

francagoestohollywood · 13/09/2007 22:01

I've heard not so fantastic reviews of what's the name of the big grey one nr hamstead?

PippiLangstrump · 13/09/2007 22:02

oh no I didn't.
I had her at another not great london hospital (which DH and I chose because it had a good feeling and the black cat on the log was giving us a sign!!!) which we discovered afterwords did not have good 'reviews' and was quite dirty TBH!

I have not one complaint though. mind you I was in and out in 7 hours, I could have done it in the park!

portland??? I'm far too stingy for that!!

PippiLangstrump · 13/09/2007 22:04

franca I think that's the royal free (that's was our second choice!! we are useless really!)

no mine was the whittington! in holloway/finchley! ol.d and gray as well.

yes the barnet one bran. oh well sara' quel che sara'.

francagoestohollywood · 13/09/2007 22:16

you'll be fine. How about one of those midwifery led birth centres? I'm sure other mntters have suggestions!

PippiLangstrump · 14/09/2007 09:25

morning. have you been to Bath? can you recommend a nice hotel? want to go away for a weekend with DH as it is the anniversary of our first date on the 30th.

PippiLangstrump · 14/09/2007 09:28

I'll have to investigate the midwife-led centers. TBH I'd rather be in an hospital, in case something does go wrong. But I don't know nuch about them, will def look into it.

don't know why but labour does not worry me too much (except for the pain!) Idiot pippi worries more about whether she'll get along with her baby and whether I can love him/her as much as DD. is this normal?

francagoestohollywood · 14/09/2007 09:40

no. I was never worried about labour and such, but I got paranoid throughout all the different stages of pg of very rare deseases etc.
don't have a clue about nice hotels in bath. I know there are a few posh ones, probably carissimi. start a thread!!!

PippiLangstrump · 14/09/2007 09:45

will do. i've been looking at lateroom.com but some only look good in pictures.

DH and I have one of these terracotta moneypot from PG where we only put 2pound coins. when full (around 400pounds) we go away for a nice weekend, normally anniversaries. that's the only way I can justify such luxury and 'waste'!

francagoestohollywood · 14/09/2007 10:17

mi piace l'idea. I like luxury
