OP posts:
PippiLangstrump · 07/09/2007 21:23

well done franca!

it was fish and chips today for mr and mrs pippi. [lazy domestic goddess emoticon]

francagoestohollywood · 07/09/2007 21:36

I love fish and chips, but sadly we don't have a good chippo around...

Jane4 · 07/09/2007 21:47

Ezio has done all the cooking in the house for the last 2 years, I cook about once a month, which is great as I hate cooking, I don't mind doing it sometimes but I hate the monotony of doing it daily. We are not typical Italians for lunch though we all eat when we are hungry and we just have a sandwich or bread and cheese or Salame (or marmite, my children love marmite)

francagoestohollywood · 07/09/2007 21:50

I usually do the cooking (dh is in charge with risotto) and dh does the cleaning up afterwards... . I like to cook, but I'm not as good as I'd like to. Both my grandmothers were amazing...

francagoestohollywood · 07/09/2007 21:50

Jane4 · 07/09/2007 22:02

I do the cleaning up, he's a typical chef that needs a kitchen hand running around after him LOL

francagoestohollywood · 07/09/2007 22:09

!

Rosa · 08/09/2007 09:27

OH Pippi you bought a Makka Pakka... I bought Upsy Daisy the singing one when in the Uk and then the little ones for the plane journey home.. Great success as Iggle Piggle sat in my cup whilst I drank from the bottle and he helped eat dd sandwich. I have since heard that Grandma has posted a small Iggle Piggle and Makka Pakka so they should be here soon. Have ordered the DVD as well but for now she is watching the ITNG web site !!!!! I hope she doesnt take a liking to Barbie or we will be ruined !!

Well done you melanzane makers I love them but DH and Dd do not like them so hardly ever eat . I might do spezzatino today that is if I move my butt and go shopping and its sabato....

Pippi your knickers will be knockers from now on .

Jane does you Dh clean up like a good dh or is he a messy chef ???

Jane4 · 08/09/2007 10:18

Hi Rosa - Definitely a messy chef!

PippiLangstrump · 08/09/2007 12:03

Rosa we got the ITNG DVD today!! which was really good timing as DD was crying this morning as Makka Pakka was not on cbeebies! all happy family again!

I used to hate to cook and never did it. Now I do it 70% of the time. the rest 20% is take away or pizza and 10% is DH. But when he does it he does it great (like the famous scrambled egg with secret ingredient, which I am not allowed to know ).

We do not do 'proper' lunch either here (except DD) at weekend, we normally have a bruch or something. but today we have pasta con pomodoro fresco. (Dh will complain as he does not understand how a meal can be a meal without some sort of meat).

PippiLangstrump · 08/09/2007 12:04

Dh is a very clean chef when he does it, very organised with his washing up and laundry - much more than messy pippi. shame he does not do it more often.

Rosa · 08/09/2007 12:56

We have to wait until 25/ 9 for the DVD as it is coming with a book from Amazon.
My Dh in the kitchen..It is easier if I do it myself. He will wash up but forget the pans or not wipe the stove etc !!! Oh well
Have a good sabato all

Brangelina · 08/09/2007 13:05

What's Makka Pakka? and ITNG? What is my DD missing out on? I though we were up to date because we have Peppa Pig, but no!

My DP doesn't even bother to bend down and put things in the dishwasher. And to think when we first met he used to wash all the dishes and clean my house. Now that I'm trapped with child he obviously thinks he doesn't need to impress me any more.

Today is Gran Premio at Monza (or rather le prove) and everywhere is packed. We're going up to the autodromo later on our bikes to see if we can peek through somewhere. I couldn't care less but DP insists. I think we should rent our house out for an extortionate sum at Gran Premio weekend and go somewhere nice with the cash.

Rosa · 08/09/2007 15:30

If you go to night garden

This should explain it . We saw it in the Uk and dd fell in love. She is 18 mths It was on BBC but have not yet seen on BBC prime... How do you get Peppa Pig ????

I would go with the house renting . My friend is going to do it for Silverstone next year ..reckons she will make a fortune.

francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2007 18:24

dc discovered the Winx this summer in Italy... . no matter what, they are always out of date cartonianimatiwise both here and in Italy (ds played power rangers the whole last six months at nursery without ever having watched a single episode before...)

PippiLangstrump · 08/09/2007 18:47

brangelina for the first time in her life DD is up to date. We dicovered INTG by chance one morning and that was it. until then she was watching the cartoon I used to watch, and adore, in the 70s... poor child.

It is similar in pace and structure to the teletubbies but far far less annoying IMO. ('LalaPo' is another favourite anyway).

don't know what to cook for dinner!

PS: DH was like your Bran, before DD we were sharing 50/50 now it shifted somehow and all of a sudden washing the dishes is 'i've done everything and everything' .

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 10:52

today I woke up humming:
IO VAGABONDO CHE SON IO VAGABONDO CHE NON SONO ALTRO......

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 14:05

Oh no, that ITNG looks annoying, so maybe it's better she hasn't seen it. Do they actually talk or just make silly noises? I hated Teletubbies with a vengeance and although it's on TV here we've managed to avoid it [mean mummy emoticon].

I don't know why I worry as DD (quite sadly) has an attention span of 3 minutes when it comes to TV. I buy her loads of DVDs when I'm in the UK- Peppa Pig, Mr Men, Wiggles, Thomas etc. and the only ones she will watch all the way through are the Baby Einstein ones. I shouldn't complain as it's good that she's not a TV addict, but a few minutes peace occasionally would be nice.

Pippi - allora non è un vizio unicamente da maschio italiano...

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 14:10

Franca - is that Biagio Antonacci? I'm to be painfully ignorant with regard to Italian music, although I know all the words to Hanno ucciso l'Uomo Ragno, Piccolo Grande Amore and that brill song by either Mina or Mia Martini that Elisa covered for a film a few years ago. Can't remember what it's called as there is the Gran Premio on in the background so my brain has frozen over with all the brum brum noises.

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 20:10

It's Nomadi, the sone must be at least 35 yrs old.
Which one from Elisa? was it l'ultimo bacio? (that's from domenico modugno)

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 20:10

Try with Maisy, I think it's the only tolerable cartone animato for toddlers.

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 21:49

No, it was that film about the the girl who wanted to become a Velina. I can't remember the title of the film either. Oh dear, I'm totally brain dead today, I hope it's not a sign of things to come.

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 21:57

Another movie by evil gabriele muccino... is it insieme a te non ci sto piu'? (originally performed by Caterina caselli, who is one of my fav).

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 22:01

ah no. it's almeno tu nell'universo. that was originally from mia martini, loredana berte' 's sister.

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 22:02

Right, have googled it as couldn't bear my vuoto di memoria anymore, still can't remember the film but have found the song - it's Solo tu nell'universo di Mia Martini. Ah feel better now. There's also one by Mina that I really love but don't ask me what it is right now (what is wrong with me? only had one glass of Barbera)
