buonasera!

OP posts:
Brangelina · 09/09/2007 22:03

Ooh, x posts. The film was crap which is probably why I can't remember what it's called.

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 22:04

And yes, it's Almeno tu nell'universo...

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 22:07

the film is called ricordati di me. I didn't see it, after having been traumatised by total crapness of l'ultimo bacio. I'm , I've just found out that muccino directed in pursuit of happyness with will smith.

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 22:10

Yes, that's it. L'ultimo Bacio wasn't that bad, but then it wasn't as good as it had been hyped to be either. The ending was totally shite. It only became popular because it cam out when everyone was raving about Stefano Accorsi. Yes Muccino did that Will Smith film too, but I have no desire to see it.

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 22:12

Actually, l'ultomo bacio was pretty annoying, just remember I only saw snatches of it whilst reading a rather good book. Still, it was miles better than Natale sul Nilo.

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 22:29

lol at Natale sul Nilo. Mind you that like many Italians of my generation I do have a large knowledge of such comedies of the early 80s. From Arrivano i gatti to Vacanze di Natale. Including I fichissimi, sapore di mare, un ragazzo e una ragazza and so on

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 22:36

Lol, I remember watching Abbronzatissimi (I think that's what it was called, it was the film with Alba Parietti before her boob and lip job) with an ex bf many years ago when I hadn't been here long and was quite shocked about just how inane it was. I have since got used to the 80s commedia all'italiana but I must admit they would never be my preferred viewing choice.

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 22:40

haven't seen that one. I obviously have more high brow tastes... but I'm partial to cristian de sica, zartolin, tenga, la mutanda...

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 22:41

should have been "Zartolin, tenga, la mutanda..."

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 22:54

Don't think I've seen that one. Mind you, when you've seen a few they all seem to be the same after a while. I expect you think the same about whatever the English version is. Can't remember that either, what is wrong with me today? I'm going back to the suppository thread....

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 23:05

the english version???
Yesterday I watched "top secret" for the 1000th time.
Have I really destroyed my credentials?

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 23:37

Top Secret? The top Secret we have on here is a programme about indagini sui più grandi misteri like Kennedy, Diana etc. You're not talking about that are you? I'm so out of touch!

I meant the english version whatever it was to crap 80's comedies. All I can think of are the Carry on films but they were the 70s. I remkember laughing a lot at them as a child, but cringe now when I see them.

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 23:40

top secret is a great movie bu zucker abraham and zucker (the ones whjo made the naked gun) starring a very young val kilmer...
do you know, I've never actually seen a carry on movie.

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 23:43

Ah, now I understand! I've seen that too, only I forgot what it was called.

I think we've somewhat hijacked the suppository thread, don't you?

francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2007 23:45

yes, I think we might... however, we do, in our family talk a lot about our bowel movements. and it's quite a good topic with friends too. anywya, I should go to bed now.

Brangelina · 09/09/2007 23:50

Me too, work tomorrow.

Hello,
I just moved to Milan a week ago with my husband and twin 13 month olds. I have a question which I hope someone out there can help me with. I have just bought a cel phone and apparently you have to call and do something to activate it to make calls. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THAT IS???
My Italian is non existant and it is SO frustrating as I know there is something simple you have to do but for the life of me I cant work it out. HELP!

Brangelina · 10/09/2007 09:19

What company is it? I have Wind and never had to do any of this, ditto Vodafone which is my work phone, but then it probably came to me already activated. Let me know what it is and I'll try to shed some light on the situation.

Brangelina · 10/09/2007 09:20

Alternatively you could always go back to where you bought it and get them to do it .

Abena · 10/09/2007 09:28

Hello Brangelina,
the phone is Motorola and I bought it on Sunday and they said it would work on Monday but I had to ' make a call' to activate it. It has a TIM card in it and a phone number but whenever you try to make a call a message from TIM (Telecom Italia) comes on (In Italian so I cant understand most of it!) saying something about activating the new line.
Basically I have to do something to be able to make calls and I dont know what it is!

francagoestohollywood · 10/09/2007 09:39

Abena, sorry don't have a clue ... I'd go back to the shop where you bought the phone. Actually they should have done the whole work for you! Otherwise I'd ask a neighbour, if you've met a nice one (neighbours are not what they used to be anymore )
Where are you living in at the moment?

Abena · 10/09/2007 09:46

thanks anyway. We are living in a street called San Giovanni Battista de la Salle which is very near to Cimiano metro station. Its a nice apartment provided by the I nternational school my husband works in but is on 2nd floor with tiny lift and theres me with two babies and a buggy to get out everyday! Mmmm...

Brangelina · 10/09/2007 10:25

Ooh, does your husband work at the James Henderson? We were just talking about it the other day as musing where to send my DD next year. Alas it's far too expensive so that idea's been binned atm. What does he teach?

Agree with Franca, take the phone back to the shop and get them to do it. I'm afraid I have no experience of Tim so wouldn't be able to guide you, I found it's the most expensive of the mobile companies so have always steered clear.

Abena · 10/09/2007 11:01

yes he works at James Henderson and I've been told lots of AC Milan footballers send their children there so I guess its expensive! I'm also a primary teacher and have been offered supply work or even full time but of course I have to sort out childcare which was my BIG problem in England as its SO expensive and for two as well. They say its cheaper here but we missed the signing up in Feb for September etc etc Do they have childminders and is it really cheaper than UK? Will I ever get back to even part time work? We need the money and I need some sanity!

Abena · 10/09/2007 11:02

My husband is Head of PE so teaches all of them from little to big
