oh I have forgotten about it all already cali after this good news.

I left work and I was daydreaming walking to the tube when I heard someone shouting ' what the fuck are you smiling about?' I turned and this bloke is looking at me all upset and starts following me. I got really scared, normally I don't but I had a bad feeling about this one. He then got very close (that he could punch me) so I knocked at a bus door for the driver to help. That's when he grabbed me by the arm and threw me against the wall and the onto the road.

TBH there was no time for people to intervene. when I took the phone out and called the police he left. police was very quick and took me around to see him but he had flown. I was a bit shaken because I felt so vulnerable. But I am okay now. It wasn't much really. I took the day off work, I wonder if I'll feel strange walking there tomorrow though...

PippiLangstrump · 09/08/2007 22:15

hotmed! thanks.

If the first time round is anything to go by I'll change to pippicaliente during the second tri...

this time I feel so different, i am all organized and into it. I've spent millions today on fruits and veg, healthy nuts, omega 3 stuff, pulses, wholemeal bread etc
you should have seen me first time - effing and blinding because I could not eat soft boiled egg and prosciutto (and I did )

Rosa · 10/08/2007 14:48

Pippi 1st thing I had after giving birth was a panino con crudo
So summer is hotting up for you med are you trying for another as well ??
I think us next year possibly if we find another casa.....Big task !

hotmediterraneo · 10/08/2007 20:19

Not trying for a baby at the moment, just fun!

PippiLangstrump · 10/08/2007 21:21

rosa did you really eat no prosciutto AT ALL during pregnancy? what about the steak, should it be well done at all times... ahh this is going to be hard!!

globetrotterinvietnam · 11/08/2007 09:10

Ciao a tutti!

Pippi, I'm glad you're okay, and what wonderful news!
Deb, I'm English, but I lived for quite a while in Italy. Rosa, I intended to bring 3 teachers to Vietnam to train new teachers. The authorities in Vietnam said no, and then I had problems getting permission for the teachers (all Thai) to come to Vietnam. We had initially planned to do the training for six weeks, now we have two.... The teachers are arriving on the 16th, but I'm very nervous. There's a lot of work to be done in two weeks.....

Rosa · 11/08/2007 15:58

Globetrotter I am sure you will manage it as you sound that kind of person . Good luck with them I hope that they are enthusiastic to learn quickly !!

Pippi - Yes I gave up proscuitto crudo ( HARD), salami in fact it was cotto , more cotto and tacchino! steak was cooked medio and I have actually grown to liking it as long as it is tender. Gave up Prawns on the griglia, mussels clams etc and peanuts, oh and brie cheese. It was all as doc said so and anything for a tranquilla life with the futura nonna in giro.

PippiLangstrump · 11/08/2007 21:53

oh so does the italian doctor says no to peanuts as well? For some reason I thought it was an aenglish thing.

First time round I ate all the above except for the seafood I think, and the soft unpasturised cheese. I do remember scoffing my face with loads of parma one evening and an italian friend being shocked that I was having prosciutto e melone at 6 months...

I think I'll be more careful this time... hopefully.

went to GP today but he was not impressed that I was only 5 weeks gone, sorry!
