ones, ones, ones... [aaarghh]

ilsi · 26/07/2007 14:32

I know what you mean about kiddies parties, mine never go to plan and although it's all meant to be informal and fun it always seems to create panick in me too.

Hope all goes well. Important that DD has a good time. Yeh I agree with rsvp bit no one seems to do that anymore.

Jammer · 26/07/2007 18:34

Hi Pippi

Reading area best for me - usually around fridays and weekends. Ali Pali - whenever i visit my db. can also drive into Ealing area as know it quite well.

let me know

Jammer · 26/07/2007 18:35

Pippi - Happy Birthday to your dd. Mine was 3 at end of May and had our biggest party yet - 25 littl'uns plus parents!! we had a great day though and the weather was very kind to us

PippiLangstrump · 27/07/2007 07:37

jammer reading at week ends - when i go see the in laws - or ali pali whenever you are there sounds fine to me. ealing to much of a treck for me as in barnet.

similar kind of party here, 20 adults and 10 kids, if the weather lets me down I'll run away and hide in the nearest pub!

Jammer do you know anyone who does italian lessons for kids in the reading/maidenhead area?

Rosa · 27/07/2007 12:34

Pippi Franca should be somewhere in France or maybe Italy by now she left on Tues..
Bad weather again in the west country but they say we might get summer again for a day on Sat !!

colombina · 27/07/2007 17:51

Hi Jammer, there is a lively Italian community on www.italiansunited.co.uk
mostly London based. They organize lots of events for families with children, amongst other things. I would definitively go along if I lived nearer London. Tanti saluti da Colombina xxx

PippiLangstrump · 27/07/2007 20:25

colombina thanks for the tip, I'll def look it up and go along to some events.

dancerdeb · 27/07/2007 21:37

ciao a tutti!
Im a nuova to this thread, married to an italian or should I say paolano (calabria) with 3 kids and been livin in london for 10 years now, we moved from gaeta, latina. I do participate in the child modelling thread and kept meaning to post here, parlo e scrivo (modestamente)L'italiano communque non l'ho studiato

Rosa · 28/07/2007 10:32

Ciao Deb benvenuto... I have never been on the child modelling thread dd would be useless!
ARe you going back to Calabria this summer ?

dancerdeb · 28/07/2007 20:34

ciao Rosa,grazie del benvenuto!
for the first time in 24 summers we will not be going to Paola this year, the older two dc will be goin to stay with their nonna there, an myself and dh at home to complete some diy on our home. Im quite happy not to be goin as I cant do Paola anymore!!

Rosa · 29/07/2007 12:29

I am in Uk as the heat is too much in Venezia form my dd and luckily nonni are here.
DIY lucky you I am not that hot on it to be honest unless I have time and peace
Hope it wont be too hot for your dcs in Italy its a scorcher there this year.

dancerdeb · 30/07/2007 12:20

Hiya Rosa
Do you live in venenzia or in the uk, or do you have the best of both worlds?
Im really bad at diy its my dh who is the good un!! Yeah, my dc whom are now in their teens have always spent summer in calabria so they are pretty much prepared for the heat, they leave this friday, my dh is taking them out there, so me and my little one who is 5yrs will have a chill time!! might pop over to my sisters in LIverpol next week.

Rosa · 30/07/2007 14:37

Live in Venice but I am english and woudl rather live here especially with dd loving the garden , open spaces, and no humidity. Also find the Venetians quite hard going at times they always have to whinge but at least we have the chance to come to the UK a fair bit which is good.
Right off to beach again now ..Its glorious here.

dancerdeb · 30/07/2007 20:58

Rosa I understand were youre coming from as I lived in Italy for 12yrs, Gaeta, beautiful place, but couldnt hack the mentality anymore, its a very beautiful fishong village near Formia, Latina. I used to run my dance school there, (Gaeta) then we dedided to offer our kids, the city life in london, and it was the right move. My husband is italian as I mentioned. I love Italy and its family values sopratutto! but I couldnt live there again.

Rosa · 31/07/2007 10:36

Magari we could come here but dh is major wage earner in our household and his job could not be applied over here so we are in a catch 22 and after seeing the prices of houses over here we could get a 3 bed with garden garage in good nick for the same price as a run down 80m sq in venice.. Anyway if we win the lottery !!! Beach day again here its lovely .

francagoestohollywood · 01/08/2007 13:08

ciaoooooooooooooooooo! How are you all? We arrived in Italy on Sunday, after a lovely trip across France.
I feel like another person, a happier, more relaxed Franca and the children are getting a tan. Fab. How is it going? rosa are you still in cornwall?

Rosa · 01/08/2007 15:18

Ciao Franca , Glad all going well and you are in warmer climates mind you we are not doing too bad here as well have been on the beach 3 days in a row.Still in Cornwall for a bit longer and then back to la bella Venezia.. Ma abbiamo prenotato per la Canarie per Gennaio ... Prenato e pagato !!!!
Buon divertimento to all the Franca family and relax x

Jammer · 02/08/2007 19:43

Grazie colombina - mi sono iscritta.

francagoestohollywood · 02/08/2007 20:55

ciao rosa, well done for booking your holidays!!! It's lovely to go to warmer climates in January. I'm told that the weather has improved too in England, and I'm happy that you can make the most of the beautiful beaches. It's hot here, but quite breezy, not as bad as I was expecting (it even rained for 7 minutes today! actually it's quite scary, it's very dry and yellow...)

colombina · 03/08/2007 01:09

brava Jammer! Ti ho mandato un messaggio su IU con il mio nickname. ciao da Colombina.

Rosa · 03/08/2007 14:42

Hope Franca you are away from any of the fires they seem to be starting up all over in Italy. It has been a lovely week and dd is starting to get a brown nose and arms...even with factor 50 sun cream !
Keep having fun are you in Tuscany yet ?

francagoestohollywood · 04/08/2007 11:04

we are going to tuscany today, though the traffic sounds really heavy, therefore we might decide to leave tomorrow. We are in Piemonte at the moment, no fires here. This thing about incendi dolosi is another cosa vergognosa italiana...
I don't know whether there'll be an internet connection in Toscana, I'll probably chat again in 2 weeks time (will I survive withjout mn for such a long time???), rosa I wish you ancora a afantastic stay in cornwall and safe journey back to italy

MED: operazione nostalgia: yesterday I watched a great documentary on pertini su rai3. I cried.

dancerdeb · 05/08/2007 10:39
