thanks ladies.

i am still in shock!! good luck everyone with your lessons, if i can do it anyone can.

i just tried to keep positive, and kept at it. I didnt enjoy it, but was determined. Us women have a resovoir of strength, and it was my daughter who was my inspiration.

lulumamasmentee · 04/07/2007 22:29

HUGE congrats pirategirl!

i am really pleased for you, i bet your looking forward to doing loads of things this summer with your DD (or even just being able to go to Tesco and do your shopping)

i'm so jealous that you passed!

i was talking to somebody in the post office today, who did their test 11 times, in the end he complained and got the cheif examiner from another area in to test him (and then passed) apparently I live in an area with about a 32% pass rate

which has filled me with hope

wrinklytum · 04/07/2007 22:31

Wow,congratulations!Mine is in August and am terrified.Well done really pleased for you.

pirategirl · 04/07/2007 22:37

i was more terriefied on my lesson yesterday. To begin with i really thought it was a bad idea to have a 2 hr lesson the day before my test, yet it eased it somehow.

Going back for the test the day after I had had a long drive felt like a continuation.
It was not so scary getting into the car as my last lesson was only the day b4 iyswim.

I was just not as scared on the test as i thought i would be. I think our age and expereince of life as mums is a bonus somehow. I took lots of good luck bits and bobs in my bag, and was v polite to the instructor lol.

margosbeenplayingwithmynoonoo · 05/07/2007 00:14

CatIsSleepy · 05/07/2007 14:35

Nice one Dragon
It helps to have a nice instructor, that's for sure.
I was absolutely shitting myself before my first lesson, and for several ones after...that has just about worn off now after 6 months!

lulumm am a bit at your story of someone taking their test 11 times.
I hope that's not me some day...

MrsSlowLearner · 05/07/2007 19:53

My DH is out driving at the moment, i think im more scared than he is!

He is doing a 5 day intensive with his test next wednesday - arghhhhh!

I get really worked up over these things, yet he takes it in his stride!

Good luck all of you x

hotcrumpets · 15/07/2007 20:16

Test tomorrow

I am not feeling it at all, i'm so big at the moment just being behind the wheel is uncomfortable blah blah blah

Went out for some practice with DP this evening and totally cocked it up, he was shouting etc etc, hopefully i'll be feeling more positive in the morning

CatIsSleepy · 16/07/2007 11:56

fingers crossed hc

MrsSlowLearner · 16/07/2007 20:12

How did it go Hotcrumpets?

Have a lesson in the morning and feeling very dubious about it all,had 2 really crap lessons ,felt like giving up last week.
Oh well will see how it goes!

OP posts:
CatIsSleepy · 17/07/2007 10:25

am wondeirng too...
don't give up Mrs S!
My last lesson had a bit of a crap feel about it too. I think I rush things too much and my instructor keeps telling me to look in the mirror more when I'm braking. On the plus side, my bay-parking is getting a bit better...

hotcrumpets · 17/07/2007 13:16

I'm sulking sorry

5 minors, 1 serious

I was coming out of a junction, somebody speeding down the road from my left not indicating at all, I started to pull out when he was level with me and he decides that actually he is coming into the junction so the examiner had to put his foot on the brake (at exactly the same time I did)

that was about 20 secs into the test, so I did the whole thing knowing I had failed. He then topped it off by saying "that was a really good test, you would of passed if it wasn't for that junction" um thanks

booked again for the 20aug but will keep checking for cancellations, sorry it took a while to get back, I just didn't want to type FAILED again, what a waste of money

CatIsSleepy · 17/07/2007 13:26

sorry hc
that sucks.

will leave you to sulk in peace now!
