Good luck!!!!!

do you mean 9th July , not sure what the exact time thing is about I had 11.11 today?

lou33 · 27/06/2007 20:32

it's because they allocate 40 ins for hte test and a few extra mins for bumpf, strange isnt it?

MrsSlowLearner · 28/06/2007 20:41

Squirrel3 · 03/07/2007 10:56

Hello everyone, can I join this thread please? You are all amatures at this learning to drive lark, I have been learning to drive on and off for 15 years now . I even had one instructor tell me I was wasting my money! Its not my ability to drive its all down to nerves, driving scares me!

I found a new instructor and he has given me new confidence, I haven't taken a test yet, but I have one booked for the 20th! I haven't told anyone in RL, I just want to say to people when and if I ever pass "Oh yes, btw I passed my driving test today".

I don't think its likely that I will pass 1st time because I just can't reverse around a corner to save my life! There must be an easy way to do it, somebody please save my sanity and tell me there is.

CatIsSleepy · 03/07/2007 13:53

good luck carmenere and lulumamasmentee!!

the test centre i need to book at is closed at the mo but i will be booking my test as soon as it re-opens

CatIsSleepy · 03/07/2007 13:53

and good luck squirrel too!!

lulumamasmentee · 03/07/2007 14:21

Hi Squirrel3 welcome!!

This will be my 3rd test so the 16th, how many have you done?

trying to think of tips for reversing round a corner for you!! other than just go reallllllyyyy slow I can't think of any at the mo

Squirrel3 · 03/07/2007 14:34

and you CatIsSleepy, I'm sure you will be fine in your test, we will all send positive vibes.

I'm sure most of it is about having confidence and thinking positively, I know if I get stressed out by the silly little mistakes I land up making bigger ones.

I am working on letting the little mistakes go and not getting anxious about them, I usually 'grass myself up' to my instructor when I think I have made a mistake and usually he hasn't even noticed what gear I am in (for instance) because I am still driving smoothly (or I haven't made a mistake at all, I just think I have). He recons that when I pass I am going to argue with the examiner and say "But what about when I did X,Y and Z?" lol

Squirrel3 · 03/07/2007 14:39

Hello lulumamasmentee, thanks for the welcome, the test I have booked for the 20th of this month will be my 1st test, I am having a mock test on tuesday. Hopefully I will pass that and it will give me confidence for the actual one.

Mind you I always think of the 1st test as being a practice one, who do you know who has passed 1st time anyway? Not many I know.

MrsSlowLearner · 03/07/2007 22:12

wrinklytum · 03/07/2007 22:30

Good luck Pirategirl

Sending positive vibes in anticipation

3madboys · 03/07/2007 22:31

good luck pirategirl!!!!!!!!!

i failed my first test last month, i had nearly completed the whole test, done my manouveres etc, and emergeancy stop, everything perfectly, only had 7 minors and then i had to change lanes to avoid a bus lane, and apparently when i did so i caused the car behind to slow down slightly and that counted as 'serious'!!! iwas really upset, got home and bawled all over dp but i guess it is all experience and i have my next test on 6th aug!! i have to pass as its costing me a fortune for lessons!

CatIsSleepy · 03/07/2007 23:48

good luck pirategirl!

and yay! for mrsS/pelvic for finally booking her theory....

Squirrel3 · 04/07/2007 16:35

Pirategirl, how did it go?

I have just returned from a lesson and I managed to reverse around a corner several times perfectly! I think I may have 'got it' at last!

pirategirl · 04/07/2007 16:35

hiya I passed, am so pleased, was crying!!! Now i can finally take my little girl out, and have a more fulfilling life.

phew!!!

Squirrel3 · 04/07/2007 16:41

BTW MrsSlowLearner, good luck with the theory test, its easy if you practice with the CD-ROM.

I can't recommend it enough, try and get the one with the hazard perception one in it too, its just like the real test.

Thanks for the welcome

CatIsSleepy · 04/07/2007 16:42

well done pirate girl!!

there's hope for us all then...

Squirrel3 · 04/07/2007 16:42

Well done! I am so pleased for you, I bet you are chuffed to bits.

No more lessons, no more tests, brilliant!

Now you have the freedom to go anywhere you want.

mslucy · 04/07/2007 16:44

have failed SEVEN times - even though I'm quite a good driver.

It's my nerves.

have been offered a valium by a neighbour, which lots of people swear by.

Would only take a half.

Or is this a very bad idea?

CatIsSleepy · 04/07/2007 16:45

and not having to spend any more money on lessons!

I'm looking forward to that bit...

CatIsSleepy · 04/07/2007 16:46

mslucy i don't know...sounds dodgy! I don't really know what effect valium has tbh.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 04/07/2007 16:46

well done pirate girl!

good reversing Mrs slow learner
