My test is over 2 months away, I want to keep checking for cancellations online, but you have to cancel your original booking first before you can even see available dates, now what if I cancel my test, look for cancellations, find there is none, and in the meantime some plonker steals my original date..........arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

CatIsSleepy · 24/07/2007 09:17

well I'm starting to wish I hadn't booked a test at all!

my bay-parking is still atrocious and i drove over the kerb twice last weekend.

maybe some people are just not meant to drive ...

ForcesSweetheart · 28/07/2007 14:21

Total - you don't have to cancel your original test to check available dates. Go to pt.dsa.gov.uk/tests/tests_E/pt/index.asp?test=pt# and click on "change a test" it will allow you then to check for available dates, and if theres none you want you just exit out of it and your original test is still fine. I'm currently checking about a dozen times a day and have already brought my test forward once but still want to bring it further forward hence still checking.

hotcrumpets · 01/08/2007 11:30

oh god I want to pass this test so badly, I'm due any day now and it would change my life so much

roll on 4.30

and i swear to god, if I don't pass I'm going to go into labour in the driving centre just to spite them

CatIsSleepy · 01/08/2007 12:44

good luck crumpets!
crossing everything for you

ForcesSweetheart · 01/08/2007 14:37

OMG good luck!!

ForcesSweetheart · 01/08/2007 14:46

Have just checked online for earlier test dates again and managed to bring it forward by another week to Sat 1st Sept (was 24th, then 8th - they're gonna get fed up sending me different confirmation letters). Only problem with that is my instructor is on holiday then & I'd have to take the test in our car which I've never driven. Will have to get DH to take me out and practice in it when he gets home on r&r leave. Am still gonna try and bring it forward more though, ideally I want it to be around 23rd August.

nutcracker · 01/08/2007 14:56

Can I join ?

Haven't yet booked a lesson, but have just enquired about prices with someone, a mum i know from school, so hopefully I can go with her.

I am absolutly terrified, so i'm hoping that using someone I know might be less stressful.

ForcesSweetheart · 01/08/2007 16:14

Hiya nutcracker, good luck with the lessons.

Hotcrumpets will be at the test centre now I bet, gawd I'm nervous for her!

saffy202 · 01/08/2007 17:11

hotcrumpets · 01/08/2007 18:35

failedy, failedy, fail

2 MINORS, 1 SERIOUS

i could cry, I really thought I had done it

think i'm gonna give it a couple of months before trying again

ForcesSweetheart · 01/08/2007 18:38

oh no, I'm so sorry hc! I do know how you feel about not wanting to go through it again just yet, took me years to get the courage up again after each of my previous fails. It's been about 6 years since I last tried. Just don't leave it too long like me.

CatIsSleepy · 01/08/2007 18:53

oh hc I'm sorry

you must be soooo fed up.

A bit of a break might do you good but don't give up! You will get there.

queenrollo · 01/08/2007 19:39

my test tomorrow morning.....not nervous yet.....have my Rescue Remedy to help my nerves in the morning......

CatIsSleepy · 01/08/2007 19:49

ForcesSweetheart · 02/08/2007 10:16

wonder if qr's done yet

queenrollo · 02/08/2007 11:33

i passed!! at one point i thought i'd screwed it (rolled back a little on a hill start) and then i relaxed because i suppose the pressure was off.
the examiner was rather surprised at my reaction when he said i'd passed......

ForcesSweetheart · 02/08/2007 13:00

Oh that's fantastic news!! Well done!

CatIsSleepy · 02/08/2007 13:02

wer-hoo!
well done qr

prettymum · 02/08/2007 13:13

ooh i have my..... 6th..... test tomorrow! in croydon! i hate the roundabouts there!!

i have so far failed because-

1st test- observation and because i was a bags of nerves
2nd test- examiner had to stop the car at pedestrian crossing
3rd test- not putting the handbrake down in few occasions
4th test- not changing gear to 1 when moving off from junctions, stlling in one spot 3 times because i didnt bloody change gears! he was going to let me off at one point but i kept stalling!
5th test- not turning off indicator after leaving roundabout and aparantly hitting a kerb!

i think ive failed on everything now!!

CatIsSleepy · 02/08/2007 13:52

prettymum I am fairly convinced I am going to do ALL of those things in my first test!

good luck btw

CatIsSleepy · 02/08/2007 14:28

hotcrumpets I didn't realise you were so close to your due date-think you were v. brave to take test at all in your condition!
Guess you'll have other things to occupy you for a while...
