After a brief discussion dp and I can't come up with anything better than testes. Can you?

Nutcutlets in this house as well as testicles.

Mercy · 10/05/2007 22:07

Testes?

Sorry, but a lot of adults won't know what your ds is on about, let alone 4 or 5 year olds.

Seedholders on the other hand seems fine imo. Anyway, it's their willies they are more interested in. Full stop.

WestCountryLass · 10/05/2007 22:10

And DS calls his willy a winkerly for some reason as well as a penis.

We have taught them the correct term as well as whatever nickname evolved.

FrannyandZooey · 10/05/2007 22:10

You think adults won't know what testes means? Interesting...

Outraged no I haven't exactly shown it to him, he has just seen it - washing in the bath etc / putting in Mooncup

I don't expect he has seen right inside but he certainly gets the general gist
god what a conversation stopper

I didn't make it up! It was ds's idea!

Testes is the plural though isn't it, might that be confusing?

FrannyandZooey · 10/05/2007 22:16

Well he has got two...

OP posts:
Tatties · 10/05/2007 22:20

I just mean in the sense that the singular is a different word and he might just want to talk about a particular one? Maybe? Probably overanalysing

this is reminding me of my favourite discussion with dd (about baby exits) - explanation by me, then long ponder by her (clearly thinking about her own body) & then with flash of insight "So is the line stretchy then?"

Nikki76 · 10/05/2007 22:22

Dingle dangles

FrannyandZooey · 10/05/2007 22:23

okay....I will bear that in mind, I do see your point

hmm

I just know I am going to hear whatever word we choose a fair bit until he moves onto something else more entertaining

I would rather hear testes bandied around than testicles, but I am splitting hairs here

Oh I see Franny.
We're very open with nudity and share baths etc, but I think my DS was after a closer inspection, which I thought might be a move he'd come to regret!

FrannyandZooey · 10/05/2007 22:26

Yes I know what you mean

they get to have a good look at the male parts though, don't they? I think we all find the penis more acceptable to look at because we are more accustomed to it, if you know what I mean

I think we should probably flash our vestibules a bit more often, it might be helpful

OP posts:
OutragedfromTunbridgeWells · 10/05/2007 22:30

You're probably right, but I didn't get a good look at my own until about 19 when encouraged to 'explore with a mirror' by Cosmo

harpsichordcarrier · 10/05/2007 22:32

franny
testicles
END OF

TwoIfBySea · 10/05/2007 22:34

Some of the posts on here are hilarious!

I have used balls before (otherwise I wouldn't have dts boom boom) but hate that word. Dts are occassionally curious about their bits, dts2 was having a good look the other day as he got dressed for school (they are 5.) I waited for the question but none came.

I think I might use some of the words on here though, what a subject. (Outraged, your post of 22.05 "legs open" had me pmsl!)

Dts call their penis their widdler or peepee (crap I know but dh uses that.)

MrsSpoon · 10/05/2007 22:35

They are testicles (the word 'penis' still makes me shudder but I can manage testicles) in our house.

ChocolateFace · 10/05/2007 22:43

Does one have a widdler and the other a peepee?

TwoIfBySea · 10/05/2007 22:58

Actually from what they tell me we are quite calm with what they call it. I sometimes generalise and call the whole area their "bits."

Dh's mum used to insist he call it his chucky! No sinister dolls then!

TwoIfBySea · 10/05/2007 23:00

And who can say testicles anyway without wanting to do a Little Britain and call them tes-ticklays like Emily Howard.

Goolies it is then.

Well boyberries would get a snigger every time I mention other berries (such as straw, blue, rasp etc.) Such is life with 5 yo boys!

Like I said testicles I would find hard to not do an Emily.

Balls is such an ugly word.
