What word do you use for your son's testes?

he is 4, and will probably embark on show and tell, once he realises they have a name all to themselves

what is the difference between testes and testicles?

I think we have started to say balls which is not very good. tbh I really want to be able to say the anatomically correct words as it seems silly not to but I just can't bring myself to call a little 2 year old willy (tinkle - for lack of anything better - what we called it as kids) a penis.

though it has only been mentioned once to date (he is 4.5y) and I said "your balls" and he said "my whattt?" so I said "well their proper name is testicles, but most people call them balls". He was happy with that and has never mentioned again.

No testes is not a word in my everyday vocab

however it is decriptive

accurate

not possible to misunderstand

and not crude or just far too ludicrous (ie testicles, scrotum)
