Have you got a baby BBB ?

Mummylin · 31/07/2016 19:40

Or was in response to 60,s music ?? Got babies on my mind as my niece is due tomorrow, not a sign so far.

IamtheZombie · 31/07/2016 20:21

Evening.

The VERY FUCKING LOUD music packed in around 12.30. By which time my pain meds were wearing off and I still couldn't get to sleep. I wasn't able to take more pain meds until 02.30 and it took about half an hour to kick in. So that was a good night. Not. I'm going to try and speak with my neighbour tomorrow. If anyone knows what was going on, it will be him.

I won't even be the worst affected as there is a terrace of 4 cottages beyond the end of my garden which face directly onto the main road and the antisocial twunts are directly across the road from them. When I was coming home from chemo on Thursday I did wonder why a portaloo had suddenly appeared beside AT's outbuilding.

Pain has now subsided to a constant ache with twinges. Temperature continues to behave. Maybe I'll even feel up to a shower and getting dressed tomorrow.

I've spent the afternoon googling adjustable electric beds and am very confused.

Glad you seem to be slowly recovering zombie
It's DS2s 1st birthday tomorrow. Confused how did that happen?! Pretty sure it was only a few weeks ago I gave birth...

Allalonenow · 01/08/2016 18:11

Hope you've all had a great day for your DS's birthday HRF, was there cake and jelly?

How are you today Zombie? What a total pain about the music, just when you needed rest to help you recover. Hope you are feeling a bit better today after a good night's sleep.

HerRoyalFattyness · 01/08/2016 20:13

There was lots of cake and jelly Grin

iklboo · 01/08/2016 20:15

Hope you're feeling better today Zombie. Did you get to the bottom of the stupidly loud music?

We're going to need a new thread soon!!

Fiderer · 02/08/2016 09:28

I love jelly. One of my favourite breakfasts. They don't sell it in cubes here but powder form which is of course deeply wrong.

FidGirl loves making it and I sometimes open the fridge to find a row of martini glasses full of jelly cooling.

Allalonenow · 02/08/2016 10:19

Ooohhh I love jelly too, I sometimes make it with sparkling wine so the jelly is fizzy, and I've got some glitter jelly in the cupboard I must try soon.
Most of mine involve alcohol, like orange & Campari jelly.

Fiderer · 02/08/2016 10:30

With sparkling wine? That's one thing we have loads of here. Why did I not know of this before?

Allalonenow · 02/08/2016 10:41

I melt the jelly in just a small amount of hot water, then add any fruit juice I'm using ~ not too much, then add the sparkling wine, tip the jug and slowly slide the wine into the jug, like when pouring Guinness. Do the same slow careful pour down the side of the mould too, to keep the bubbles trapped, cocktail glasses would be great moulds for this! Wine

iklboo · 02/08/2016 18:28

When DS was smaller he helped make a jelly. We put it in a large silicone mould & popped it in the fridge to cool.

A little while later DS disappeared into the kitchen. There was an almighty howl. DH & I ran into the kitchen to find DS dripping head to toe in still liquid, sticky, strawberry jelly. He'd gone in to see it it had set, tipped the mould towards him as he was too small to see into it and.....sploosh. One sticky child, one sticky kitchen floor. No jelly for after tea.

HerRoyalFattyness · 02/08/2016 19:04

Oh dear ikl Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 02/08/2016 20:00

Very pleased you're feeling a bit better Z and temperature is behaving.

Hope the next party doesn't coincide with your chemo and you can go down and show them some dance moves Grin

Allalone you really do post about some divine sounding recipes Smile

Mummylin · 02/08/2016 22:48

What is this glitter jelly you speak of ? I have never seen or heard of it and now I want some !

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 02/08/2016 23:27

Me neither lin

Jelly, glitter and alcohol, I want to swim in it Grin

Allalonenow · 03/08/2016 00:25

Oh ikl poor little chap, he must have been soooo sticky. Grin

I love a bit of glitter, sparkly stars in wine, gold leaf on chocolate mousse, I had a very glittery food phase a while ago! Grin

What a pity we live at opposite ends of the country B3 or you could pop in for lunch.

Susiesoap7 · 03/08/2016 14:19

How are you doing zombie? 🌸🌸🌸

IamtheZombie · 03/08/2016 20:23

I managed to get out for an hour or so this afternoon. That was enough for me.

LOUD MUSIC was a one-off. The couple who live there got married that day and this was their reception. An excellent reason for a knees up but I'm still a bit grumpy about the lack of sleep.

Tomorrow is Oncology Clinic. I hope Birmingham got everything over to Shrewsbury in time for the MDT to have considered it and I will have a clearer idea of what's going on after my appointment. I also have a little list of other questions.

Allalonenow · 03/08/2016 21:50

Glad to hear that you enjoyed a little wander outside today Zombie but hope you didn't overdo it.
Best wishes for a smooth day tomorrow, and hope you get some answers to your queries. Maybe get an early night and a good sleep so you are ready to face tomorrow?
Is it Shrewsbury when you get your favourite breakfast?

I'm reading the Cadfael books ATM, they are set in Shrewsbury, and I often wonder how much of the old city street plan still exists today.

Sending you sweet dreams.

Mummylin · 03/08/2016 22:10

Hope things go well tomorrow Zombie and everything they tell you is good. My dd,s dog had to have an emergency hysterectomy last night. She had a condition that only female dogs get if they aren't spayed and it normally happens a few weeks after they have been in season. Her whole womb was filled with vile pus. If they hadn't of taken her straight away it would of burst and she would probably of died through sepsis.
Anyway she is now home and is very sleepy but otherwise not too bad . My dd was distraught The dog is her " baby "

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 03/08/2016 22:29

Glad to hear you found out about the party and that it's not likely to be a regular feature.

Nice that you got out for a while, if you had wind anything like here, not surprised you didn't last longer than an hour.

I'm sure your wonderful team will have everything in place for tomorrow and you'll be able to get a clear plan for what's next.

Allalone are you telling me that you have a pool full of alchoholic, sparkly jelly?

I could make a special trip Grin

IamtheZombie · 04/08/2016 18:34

I had my oncology clinic appointment this afternoon so I decided to make a day out of it. (In other words I decided I really wanted a MaccyD breakfast even though that meant having a few hours to fritter away before the appointment.)

About 3 miles from home I had a lovely encounter with a family of deer. First the teenage fawn leapt into the road in front of me. I say teenage because he/she is nearly full grown but still has his/her spots. Next came the doe followed by the buck. They were stunning and each of them stood and looked at me for several seconds before leaping off again.

After McDonald's I caught the park & ride into town then picked up a few things from Lakeland and a couple of new fleeces. I then settled in at Costa with a medium vanilla latte (with extra vanilla obviously). I got to the hospital about an hour before my appointment so wandered into the League of Friends cafe for another coffee. Maintaining caffeine levels is important.

Clinic was running to time! Dr. P. is over the moon. She says all my scans show that the TDM1 is doing precisely what it's meant to do and doing it very well. My CA15-3 level (tumour marker) is the lowest it's ever been since we started monitoring it regularly. Having said that, she acknowledges the horrendous toll this is all taking on my body. She's going to reduce the dosage which a) should have no effect on the efficacy of the treatment but also b) reduce the side effects. She says I have been and am doing far better than anyone could have predicted. There will come a time when TDM1 is no longer effective and other options will need to be considered but for now we will continue as we are (with reduced side effects hopefully!).

I'll have another heart scan in the next few weeks. Dr. P. is also requesting my next CT scan for the week commencing 31 October. That should tie in with my next MRI.

Oh. She's also cleared me to have a holiday as long as I book it between treatments.

Zombie, that all sounds very very good news. Lovely to think that you could have a lower dose and so have fewer side effects, but still maintain the efficiency of the treatment.
Looks like you have had a very good day today, especially fitting in your breakfast too.
You were lucky to see the little deer, they are one of my favourite animals. I have a lovely picture of a stag that belonged to my grandparents, it takes pride of place on my landing upstairs

HerRoyalFattyness · 04/08/2016 20:21

That all sounds great zombie Grin especially the fewer dude effects.
