Hello Quootie - thought we should start a new thread.

Will be thinking about you tonight. Hope you can get some rest. Could you try having a bath or something? Can really help me to un-wind.

OP posts:

what work does he do quootie..and why isn;t he here looking after you and DS>

Quootiepie · 23/12/2006 15:17

He works at the airport, push back driving etc. Was on late shift, left abit early to get his mums present and pop in to give it to her on the way, and he's just text he didnt go into work. I asked where he was, he said his mums. Im so because I had a "bad" morning, but said "look, really dont worry etc. go to work, ill be fine..." etc. and he's over there with his mum

Quootie, i dont know you, was reading your thread last night, was thinking about you today.

I dont know what AD's you have been on in the past, but you really should be thinking about it again.
They may be a stop gap, till you can get some proper psychiatric care, but used in conjunction with some form of therapy they would definately be beneficial to you.

I dont think a psychotherapist would be a good opion for you from what I have read, you need a proper psychiatrist who can treat you with meds and a suitable therapy.

Is there someone on hand who can dispense your meds to you if you are fearful of overdosing, family member, local pharmacist?

Seriously, dont rule out medication, all these symptoms are due to a chemical imbalance and theres only so much that therapy alone will do.

Sorry if I am speaking out of turn, I am a mental health nurse based in Scotland so dont know the way it works down south.

Love

Lou

Quootiepie · 23/12/2006 15:21

lol, thanks for that!

Quootiepie · 23/12/2006 15:26

thanks lou - did you read the other thread? I may have some chemical imbalance, but the A & E guy said the opposite... its all PTSD, more umm... physical than chemical - if that makes sense. Im not ruling out meds, but the GP wont see me for some reason.

Don't think you're speaking out of turn! Any comments are welcome here

If DH isn't at work, if he comes home, I think ill go see out of hours GP, even if I have to go every day and get abit of meds to "see me through". I have to admit, they did help abit, but only in the way they numbed me abit to stop my head buzzing xxx

MerrilyTooBuzzi · 23/12/2006 15:26

idontlikecrusts · 23/12/2006 15:31

Q I've read about 3/4 of it. So, it is army related PTSD?

I didn't realise the last thread had kicked off. I don't think that airing really personal stuff on a forum is 'not on'. What if you don't want to get out in the fresh air or deal with real life? I know I didn't the other day. I was pretty paralysed by fear and emotion so being here was the most constructive thing I could do.

Also, via a forum you can sound thoughts out without it coming back to you so much as it might in real life - you can make mistakes more easily. Unless of course a bitch-fest ensues!

I know how in control/flippant one can sound even when one is really serious about having reached then end. In fact, in many cases I'd say it might be quite a typical mind state.

I'd say see what you can do about getting an alternative therapist for CBT again or the psychodynamic therapy and also to try and get in the system afterall if you can.

get DH to come home now.....FGS! he needs such a good shake..he cannot see what is going on in front of his eyes.

you need to go to a doctor

or A&E and get some meds or a psychiatric referral now

i said yesterday, i;ll say it again today..all this time on mumsnet, is displacement activity..none of us here can give you what you need , which is

DIAGNOSIS

MEDS

REFERRAL

SUPPORT FROM TEH CRISIS TEAM

yes, of course, we can give you our love and support, our own experiences and thoughts. and there has been a fantastic amount of support here quootie..i am not dismissing the value of it for a second, BUT, you need real medical help and support from DH.

but you say you are not a suicide risk , but they won;t give you meds...but they won;t give you meds because you have PTSD, however,

you are in all likelihood chronically depressed and meds are needed.

this cannot go on for another week.

you must insist DH comes home now, or get DS and call a taxi and go to the GPS on call now

lulumama · 23/12/2006 15:32

sorry///posted twice !

Quootiepie · 23/12/2006 15:34

lulu - I called everyone! thats why I was in tears this morning. DH ranted on the phone to GP - they wont help me. They say go to mental health team, its closed until 27th... crisis team only do over phone support. I exhausted every avenue. I had a diagnosis, which everyone is dismissing. As I said, the crisis team dont actually do anything.

idontlikecrusts · 23/12/2006 15:37

Could you turn up at A&E or your local mental health ward and be blunt? That's what OH has done in the past.

lulumama · 23/12/2006 15:37

i cannot believe you are being left with nothing
it is just not on
go to the on call docs and stress that you cannot get through the next few days with nothing

you have had a diagnosis, which GP has dismissed, he has also dismissed the suggestion of counselling

if you go to A&E ..can you not get an emergency session with the on call psych.......

or a different doc at the doc on call

did you actually speak to anyone at the crisis team?

i'm not cross with you quootie.it is the situation..and your DH

lulumama · 23/12/2006 15:38

x post with IDLC.... i have been where you are quootie..it is not on..you need to get help and i would go to a&e and not leave until a psych, not a GP had listened to me and sorted things

Quootiepie · 23/12/2006 15:44

DH ranted at GP saying the same things... being left with nothing. He asked what support I wanted, asked if I had friends/family... That was out of hour doc, mine was closed.

He said I need something, desperatly for the next few days... as I said, I have the crisis number, thats it, and thats only phone support - like the samaritans.

Crisis team said theres nothing they can actually do - just to ring Mental health team on 27th

MerrilyTooBuzzi · 23/12/2006 15:45

sorry to hear that lulu...is Q still here?

I want to tell her something

MerrilyTooBuzzi · 23/12/2006 15:47

Q ... i now know that you must practice the art of folding... i hate ironing. only done 4 bits.

idontlikecrusts · 23/12/2006 15:48

The whole crisis tem thing is very sporadic and ineffective - many CNHT haven't even fully organised their crisis teams or staffed them properly still so I wouldn't even go there if yours is not organised.

If you think you need protection, go to A&E. Are you anywhere near Lewisham hospital?

Quootiepie · 23/12/2006 15:48

lulu - I think DH is coming home (although he says he is having fun there) and I will get him to ring out of hours GP again, and demand again. I can't, because..well... DH doesnt mind getting annoyed at people, I cant. I do know what your saying... but im so lost with it all, and very shocked to tell you the truth at the lack of care. I honestly honestly have spent alot of the morning chasing it all up. Even rung the A & E dept. to try that way... they said the mental health team are the ones dealing with it.

idontlikecrusts · 23/12/2006 15:49

PM me and I'll do the phoning - I'm good at this!

Quootiepie · 23/12/2006 15:50

Im not feeling suicidal, or anything extreme... I dont feel "in danger"...
