Hello, Piffle's (Jane's) hubby here.
I hope that I have posted this in the correct section!

Jane has asked me to let the club know that she had to be admitted to hospital this afternoon with appendicitis. She has already had the operation and is now back on the ward recovering, both Jane and the baby are fine.
As many of you will know, Jane is 21wks pregnant so the docs are likely to keep her in for at least a couple of days so that they can keep a close eye on her and the baby.
I'll be back at the hospital in the morning to see how she is getting on and to take her a few bits 'n' pieces to make her stay on the ward easier.
I'll try to post an update when I get more news.
Kieran

I was not given any notes on what not to do after the surgery etc so not sure how long I will need dp home for.
I can see it will be a few weeks though.
Meanwhile how to avoid coughing and sneezing for a few weeks....

Piff, your experience with the ectopic was the first thing that went through my mind when your lovely dh told us you were in hospital - we were on the same antenatal thread at the time . It must have been so scary for you, having the op, but as you say, there really was no alternative.

Keep smiling and take it easy . How long is dh off work to look after you?

Piffle, I have had major abdominal surgery - I have an 8 inch vertical scar running from my breast bone to my pubic bone and my only advice to you is to hold your hand over your scar (as soon as you feel able to touch there) when you need to cough or sneeze. And as for laughing...well, I see you were very naughty and have already been to the hamster eating thread....!

Oh and lift no weights whatsoever. The heaviest thing you should lift is a small cup of tea.

Can't believe I missed this.

Piffle, glad you are home and on the mend now. Make sure you rest up well
