Piffle in Hospital...

Hello, Piffle's (Jane's) hubby here.
I hope that I have posted this in the correct section!

Jane has asked me to let the club know that she had to be admitted to hospital this afternoon with appendicitis. She has already had the operation and is now back on the ward recovering, both Jane and the baby are fine.
As many of you will know, Jane is 21wks pregnant so the docs are likely to keep her in for at least a couple of days so that they can keep a close eye on her and the baby.
I'll be back at the hospital in the morning to see how she is getting on and to take her a few bits 'n' pieces to make her stay on the ward easier.
I'll try to post an update when I get more news.
Kieran

Fantastic news.

You rest up girl and take it steady.

I was in hospital 2 days after my op, and then pretty much unable to do a lot for a week.

Im so pleased you are feeling better xx

Miaou · 09/11/2006 12:09

Wow! Lovely that she is coming out! I had to stay in four days after my op (but the food was fantastic and the nurses brilliant so I didn't mind )

Lots of TLC needed, Mr Piffle. And don't make her laugh.

Piffle · 09/11/2006 19:54

Hello darling ones!
Managed to escape the medical borstal earlier, I mean at the end of the day a hospital is no place for them who need rest above all else.
And to abandon the lovely senile 85 yr old lady in the bed next to me who snored worse than anything revving up the M1

Anyway I'm home and glad to be.
In pain but hey...
Baby is kicking which although welcome sign that everything is alright I wish I could give him/her directions on where NOT to kick.
AS I am avoiding laughing I'll be staying of MN for a while...
She lied
Getting your messages was really nice, thank you all

I made the mistake of reading the hamster thread, as I said to DP, just read one or two.
Olive's elephant wandering into her quiche, severely tested my self imposed ban on laughing.
Laughing hurts less than coughing I discovered
Soooooo good to be home, slept tons better. Feeling brighter, now paranoid about drug effects on unborn child...
DP has taken dd to her eye test appt miles away so am home alone, which is actually ok!

Piffle, please dont worry about drug effects. Rebecca is a very happy healthy 1yr old now and is soooooo calm and relaxed.

I know you cant help but worry, I was the same, but baby will be ok.

The one thing that i couldnt get over when i had mine out was having to sign the consent form which said that there was a high risk of miscarriage - that took a lot of will power

Hugs for you my love and TAKE IT EASY

Piffle · 10/11/2006 09:14

JARM, I know my face went white and I was very very upset, he said there was a risk earlier when he thought it might be appendicitis.
When forms came he said it was 25% and I was in bits. But WTF can you do, don't have the op and you will die most likely, not like you have a choice at all.
He did say highest risk was during the op and 6-7 afterwards as drugs leave your system as can cause uternine contractions.
I sat and clock watched (a test on morphine that's for sure) at 2.30am I relaxed.
Baby was actually unusually active which reassured me but conversely made me imagine all kinds of things.
after the near death ectopic 2 yrs ago (09/11/04) spooky... I feel I truly have the shittiest luck sometimes.
JARM how long were you out of action for honey?

I feel your pain!!!

I had my op on the friday, out of hospital sunday.... did pretty much NOTHING for that week until the Saturday which was my brothers wedding. Totally over-did it and ended up doing nothing again for another week.

Was told I wasnt to drive for 2-3 weeks.

DH took 3 weeks off work and by the time he was back, i was pretty much back to normal.

Really hope you can rest loads, it really does make the healing easier and quicker x
