Piffle in Hospital...

[Piffle]

Hello, Piffle's (Jane's) hubby here.
I hope that I have posted this in the correct section!

Jane has asked me to let the club know that she had to be admitted to hospital this afternoon with appendicitis. She has already had the operation and is now back on the ward recovering, both Jane and the baby are fine.
As many of you will know, Jane is 21wks pregnant so the docs are likely to keep her in for at least a couple of days so that they can keep a close eye on her and the baby.
I'll be back at the hospital in the morning to see how she is getting on and to take her a few bits 'n' pieces to make her stay on the ward easier.
I'll try to post an update when I get more news.

Took DS and DD (see I'm catching on to this fora speak) to see Jane and she was very happy to see them both. I also printed off this thread as of 6PM, which ran to 7 printed pages!
Jane said she'd read it later, but had a big grin on her face when she realised how many had posted on the thread. TY!

The anti-emetics have worked really well so Jane is coping with the pain now that she isn't wretching / vomiting bile.

She has even put in an order for lunch tomorrow. She was offered choice of small/medium/large portion sizes... she opted for medium so she is hoping to finally get something to eat! Apart from a few sips of water she hasn't had any food since late on Tuesday morning... which made a re-appearance later that day anyway!!!

Apart from that Jane is hoping that the doses of anti-emetic and the meager bit of morphine she will get tonight will give her the best chance of some sleep tonight.

Once again thanks for the messgaes, Jane really appreciates them.

If by "get" do you mean do I "have access to" MN, or do you mean do I "understand" MN.

For the former, yes I am able to access MN and have perused a number of these threads over the years, although I have never posted on here prior to this crisis. Very often Jane does send e-mails to me at work with links to threads on here and a very good read they are too.

For the latter, I think the safest answer would be a qualified yes. MN is a particulary lively site with a wide range of topics being discussed. I visit infrequently and have read only a few threads on the site. At first I didn't "get" many of the word shortening (DD, DS, PG etc.) but as and when a new one crops up, Jane invariably explains... I'm not sure if the accompanying expression on her face is one of smugness or sympathy for the stupid!

Just had a call from Jane.
She is feeling sooooo much better today and she will be allowed to come home! Today!!!
She did not take any morphine last last and has been coping well with just the paracetamol.
She has also managed to eat this morning and no sign of nausea.
Jane had assumed she would be on the ward until at least the weekend, but it was the doctors that said she could go home.
Doctor's orders are to keep taking paracetamol and bed rest... not forgetting plenty TLC!

I am sure the doctors would have been quite strict on her having a slave at her beck and call Mr Piffle........bearing chocolate and trashy magazines.....and foot rubs.....and chocolate....

great news that she can come home today - don't forget those doctor's orders Mr P....she will need lots of rest and you as her slave answering her every beck and call, otherwise she might just have to go back in again!

I think she'll be making good use of my work laptop, it has some sticky keys so expect some typos... oh errr... no change there then!
