Hi

OP posts:
princessmel · 31/07/2006 13:52

Hi Julie, that sounds fab! My friend lives in L Buzzard but I'm pretty sure its not her!
Mrratty and Cyan how close are you to St.Albans? Did you say before that you were in Welywn or was that someone else?
I live in Chiswell Green and we've not been to the splash pool since it opened..It used to be a paddling pool and I used to go there all the time when I was a little girl. I'm always reluctant to go as theres not much shade and I'm paranoid about shade!

julie4travel · 31/07/2006 14:14

yummymummy - that is rediculas to expect that of an 18 month old, my dd is nearly three and wouldn't be able to do that!

mimi- if the hols were free i wouldn't be sitting here ha ha!

princess - does your friend make cakes? i have got to look on multimap to find the place yet, knowing my luck i will end up totally lost....

ellesmum · 31/07/2006 14:25

hi everyone, have a lovely holiday those lucky people that are going away!

mimi- did u get my picture?

everyone sounds busy with castings and jobs, well done!

just took my little one 2 a playcentre and had lots of fun!
isnt it weird how u can recognise your little ones cry in a room of screaming kids!

Ragamuffin · 31/07/2006 14:32

Hi all.........

Julie4travel.......hope you are making progress on your decision! It is a tough call. I wouldn't give up a theatrical agency for only modelling personally. So hope you can find a way to do both.

My DS has been booked for a Toys R Us job for tomorrow. Great!! Also spent the day doing licence forms for DD to do a photoshoot for Girl Talk Magazine for next week. Very excited about this. Not confirmed as it's pending licensing...but should be ok????

sha11.....well done on the BBC job for your twins! If you just phone your LEA they should be helpful re forms etc. Although you agent should also provide you with the Part 2 to fill in. You will also need 2 x passport photos of each child. Good luck with sorting this all out. What's the job for?

YummyMummy..........can't believe they seriously expected an 18 month old to do Karate moves......definately people who don't know children!!

julie4travel · 31/07/2006 14:39

Ragamuffin- got to ring the agents tommorow as people aren't in i need to speak to

have you ever had a licence not approved, do they ever do that? Just curious really. i have drs notes and passport photos ready for when they get jobs as last time i had to rush like a mad women to get them and then my council said they never received them so i had to go and hand them in person, it was a palava!

Congrats on the jobs- people seem really busy at the moment

mrratty · 31/07/2006 14:49

princessmel - I live in WGC, been here about 18 months, before that I lived in London so I don't know this area to well.
Does anyone know how I can get hold of a french mag called Extra Small?

Ragamuffin · 31/07/2006 15:24

julie4travel.....No never had a licence refused. Our LEA actually very good. We have even managed to get one in 48hrs. I am always really prepared in advance. I get a drs letter every 6 months for each child and keep it on file for when needed. I have passport photos ready. I also have a Part 2 Licence form which is filled in to date saved on my computer. So I really only need to check that it is up to date, print it out and sign and date it. I always take our applications in personally, even though it is a 25 min drive. But it does mean I know the people well and they are always very interested in what the kids are up to now.

Hope you have some joy tomorrow with your agency dilema.

thorntons · 31/07/2006 15:47

Hi All-hope you had a good weekend! Good luck to anyone with castings and jobs this week.Yummy, really cannot believe ehat was expected at CG casting. Nevermind ,you never know she may still get job,if not there will be plenty of other castings coming her way.
Hi Mratty, did your dd model for the magazine? Have you "goggled" it ? Is mag called actually called "extra small" or is that a literal translation? I have french relatives/good friends, will ask them for you. You could always email the agency to ask for a contact email addy etc?

mrratty · 31/07/2006 15:54

thorntons - DD modelled for the september issue. The stylist said she would get a copy sent to us, though it would be a real shame if she has forgotten. It is called Extra Small, a shop in Oxford Street used to sell it though not any more. Will hold out hope for the stylist!!!

tigeryuan · 31/07/2006 16:02

Sha11- excellent news. hope you'll sort out the licence stuff soon!

cyan · 31/07/2006 16:21

hi all am back from the splash park, shame the weather wasnt so great. ds did manage to have a run around in his swim nappy for a bit before it started spitting. its a really lovely park wish we had something round here as nice, although roundwood park is lovely.

mrratty, yes we could do a meet up there, its straightforward for us as we can go up the M1, and only takes about half an hour. would definately go again.

tiger> had a lovely time with you and the boys yesterday! was really nice to meet up again

mrratty · 31/07/2006 16:27

cyan - good to hear you had a good time! How old is your son?

cyan · 31/07/2006 16:34

he is almost 18 months so younger than your daughter (is she about 5)?? i went with my friend who is a nanny, she looks after 3 children 6,4, and 2. i thought it was a lovely place would like to go again in the holidays hopefully when the weather is nicer!!! do you know cassiobury park at all? that's in watford, and has 3 large paddling pools which is lovely for the kids when the weather is hot.

mrratty · 31/07/2006 16:37

That park sounds really nice too. I don't drive and unfortunatley Watford is really hard to get to. I also have a 2 year old though she is going through a funny stage and really freaks if other children touch her buggy!!!!(she is a bit of an oddball!!!)

cyan · 31/07/2006 16:39

awww! dont worry my ds has hit the terrible twos already me thinks, and he isnt even 2!!! he is smacking and pulling hair at the moment, to be fair he hasn't been as bad lately as he was a couple of weeks back!

lindac · 31/07/2006 17:26

my 11yr old dd has an appointment at cs managment tomorrow and she wants to sing....my old man said follow the van or me old mans a dustman ....i said read a poem or a riddle but no she wants to sing i did laugth (but not in front of her)she's doing the actions and everything . Oh well i hope it go's well x

mrratty · 31/07/2006 17:37

lindac - sounds funny, maybe they will put her up for the comedy roles!!!

lanismum · 31/07/2006 18:02

hello everyone!
have been shopping today, tried to get dd some shoes, she was measured in start-rite and clarks and she was the widest fitting in both, think it was a h in clarks, the woman told me she also has a very high instep which will make boots a nightmare, so her best options are t bar shoes, looked for some but i hated them all, she ended up with some pink doodles, but im not entirely sure i like them, they have a cow on..............
cyan, i saw your boy in the mothercare book, i showed his pic to lani and said look theres your friend, and she kissed the paper!
yummy, im not surprised by cow and gate, when i took dd in april, they wanted her to stand on a flower on the floor, look at the camera, clap her hands, smile, then run towards me! i told them she was not quite 14 months, but they were not impressed with her hahahah

cyan · 31/07/2006 18:14

awwww bless lani!!! god her feet are wide never noticed before thought charlies were wide, what size is she though 4 0r 5

lanismum · 31/07/2006 19:31

shes a 5, aww my bigfoot

julie4travel · 31/07/2006 19:44

lindic- good luck for tommorow, if you are going on the tube get a cab to Caroles house as its a bit of a trek! hers is the opposite side to the school. we paid about 3 pounds for a taxi there and it was a lot better than walking.

my ds learned a poem yet he didn't have to do it. he was very relaxed in her office and confident. Good Luck

YummyMummy21 · 31/07/2006 23:18

Lanismum> WoW I thought DD feet were Wide, I can never get nice sandels to fit her. She is a 6G so a (H) fitting must be a nightmare. Is Lani tall?

Take Care everyone, hope you are all having/ had a nice evening

xXx

lanismum · 01/08/2006 00:33

yummy, i think lanis about average height really, shes 81/82 cms? shes nearly 17 months.

lanismum · 01/08/2006 00:35

im gutted about her feet though, means converse will never be any good for her, shes got 4 pair, 3 are too small now, but when they fitted her length-wise they always fell off because of her high instep, oh well, will have to find something else to waste her dads money on

YummyMummy21 · 01/08/2006 00:52

LoL

she will make a good ballet dancer though. High insteps usually mean good points.

I found some lovely shoes in Next the other day, but they wouldnt squeeze on to DD feet as they were too narrow

xXx
