Aillidh Christine Kinnaird died of complications from treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia at around 11.30 on 8 July 2012. She was surrounded by family and friends and most of all, love.

I'm so sorry xxxx been on mumsnet since 2005 and remember expat from then not been around much lately and can't believe what has happened. I remember expat talking about all the beautiful colours in aillidhs hair and how stunning she was. Thinking of you all xxx

I haven't been posting on the threads, but I have been following Aillidh's journey on facebook.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Words though, are just not enough & are so inadequate.

RIP Aillidh. A battle well fought.

Aillidh touched the lives of so many, I feel blessed to have 'known' her, even at such great distance and as a stranger. I trust that she is at peace now, cushioned by the love of thousands.

My heart goes out to expat and family, I cannot even begin to imagine losing such a precious and beautiful child xx
