Sputnik · 15/02/2011 16:57

Hi Gio!
Lol at free Italy :o
So DS went and got flu or something, so missed the first day of the ABA, but he seems better so we went today, he had a bit of a hard time because there are lectures for the parents so we were separated in the morning, I hope he'll get used to it quickly. Poor guy he is very tired now, I have stuck them in the bath.
Wonder how Rosa is getting on.

eurocommuter · 15/02/2011 19:53

Oh even the cheapest cholocalate is better than Emilio.
Sput I hope Ds son gets used to it soon. It must be hard for both of you. But I'm sure it will get easier.

Gubbio was a total disaster! well not total but pretty close. it was cold and raining and we went with friends who where visiting a nun relative. But we didn't realise that we would be stuck in a convent for most of the day and so dc where a bit fed up. we tried to go out but because if the rain it wasn't much fun. Consequently, ds was pissed off and wanted to go home and wacth Alice in Wonderland instead whcih was on TV at i nonni. We got suck in traffic and got home too late for Alice and and he cried and didn't sleep till late. Which meant he was exhousted yesterday morning and misbehaved at the lovely new school. So I am mortified.

Apart from that weekend was fine. Celebrated 12 years since DH and I have been together. ( not married). That was nice. Back in London for 10 days [sad.
Rosa, how is it going?

Francagoestohollywood · 15/02/2011 20:37

Oh yes, I wonder how rosa is doing too, she is probably surrounded by boxes!

Euro, sorry to hear Gubbio hasn't been a totally great day out. Weekends are tiring though, I find!

Sputnik, I hope ds will adjust to the new setting asap, he is still so little it must be hard for him to get separated like this.

I am a bit worried as dd complains -again- of having mal di pancia, and has already pooed 3 times since dinner time. I can't really decide if she really does not feel well or if she is trying to get attention (and the privilege to sleep in our bed...)

Rosa · 17/02/2011 19:33

eccomi..... Its madness but we are in . DH set up computer today but I have to find space for so much stuff. Nonna goes home domani and dd1 has been told another 15g off school as her collar bone is now out of its bandage but she has to be mega attenta. We went to our paed this pm for minirosas controllo and showed him dd1 xrays ( on a CD!) he was not too happy and said it should be better than it is so he has suggested that we go to a specialist guy so we go to Padova on Monday. Its early evening so Dh will be going with her. MIL is shocked as men don't dp hospitals ...AM I wrong in thinking he won't be able to ask teh proper questions with the doc and do what is right for his daughter ??????
ANyway had a nice birthday and dh has made progress since Xmas and I have a nice Morellato necklace!!! ALso had a nice bottle of wine so am off to bed !

Francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2011 19:47

Oh rosa Happy Birthday! Happy to hear dh has improved his presents skills! And congratulations on your move Smile and all your boxes Wink.

I am sure dh will manage with the doctor, mind you, I'd probably write him a list of questions to ask!

Rosa · 17/02/2011 20:09

DOmanda for Sput , Buch , Banana - DO any of you have permesso di soggiorno or the such like. My 10 yr old one is due to expire next month ( along with my tessera sanitaria ...the only bit I am bothered about) and I can find nothing out about if I have to do another or whatever ...To save time does anybody know????

Sputnik · 17/02/2011 21:32

Rosa you are a hero!
I wish my brain hadn't turned into a sieve or I could help you, as far as I can remember you no longer need a permesso, but to get residence I needed some kind of attestato di soggiorno, sorry I really can't remember any further than that.
This week has been a bit of a write off as far as DS's therapy is concerned, his flu got worse again so yesterday we were stuck at home and today went in for a couple of hours. He does seem on the mend though so we'll be going in again tomorrow. Problem is he doesn't want to be left by us yet, hopefully we'll get past that next week.

Sputnik · 17/02/2011 21:34

Oh and happy birthday!

Francagoestohollywood · 17/02/2011 21:42

A permesso di soggiorno? Really? You come from a EU country, do they want a permesso di soggiorno? Shock

Sputnik, sorry to hear about that. Hopefully next week will be better.

Ds is still awake, apparently he is too hot in bed Hmm.

Did I tell you I am getting addicted to Mad Men?

Rosa · 18/02/2011 17:07

They did 10 years ago !! But apparently now I can get an attesta di regulazione for the cost of Eu29.67 but thankfully all in the commune I couldn't cope with the questura!
Sput sorry about the hold ups - I have heard that another bout of high temp virus is hitting here right now and loads of children are off school ....
Its decided that I take dd to Padova and dh will try to keep M rosa happy . I just hope the blessed navigatore works as I have to go into the centre! However dd and I will go early and we will choose her carnival costume as I am not paying the Venice prices they wanted Eu99 for Capucetto Rosso ( they said Raso - I say Polyester

eurocommuter · 18/02/2011 17:24

Oh the permersso di Sorgiono. I never got one when I was there permenently. But i remember going to que up with for it for at the questura, just to get information, it put me off. I did ask why an EU citizen needed a permesso di sorgiono. They said to me because the UK is not in the EU. So I had a long argument about the UK being in the EU and not being part of the Euro didn't make us have less favouroble rights of the treaty. Anyway, I decided not to do anything about it. But I remember at some point they made it easier to apply. I think you could do it at teh post office. Not sure what they do now.

BananaGio · 19/02/2011 08:21

Smile you're in Rosa-so pleased for you.
I have blanked the memory of getting my permesso at 8 mths pregnant in 40 degree July heat from my memory from the Questura fuori Roma (moved from it's old off Via Nazionale position to the middle of a field to keep those pesky furriners out of sight methinks). I dread renewing it although I think EC is right and you can do at the Post Office now. Which should make it a painless experience obviously Hmm
Sput how is DS?
Franca started watching my Mad Men box set last night. Watched first 2 episodes and not sure what I think yet- beautifully done but a slow burner maybe?? But then so was my beloved West Wing and the Wire I guess.
Am reliving my twenties on that 90's thread at the moment. When did I get so old? Sad.Might have to dig out my This Life box set and revisit my youth.

Francagoestohollywood · 20/02/2011 20:51

Hello girls, hope you all had a relaxing weekend. We went to the mountains with friends and skied on saturday, it was a sunny and lovely day. Today it snowed a bit and the children went on the bob (what is the english for bob???)

Rosa, I hope the expedition to Padova goes well and that the permesso di soggiorno is as painless as possible.
Shock at 99 euros for a dressing up outfit!

Euro, well done for asking the Questura why you'd need a permesso as a UK citizen Smile. I've never had to do anything when in the UK, and that's one of the reasons why I think the UK is a great, liberal country.

Gio: Mad Men, deffo a slow burner. Stick to it though, lots of surprises in store! (However, The Wire is unbeatable imho).
I have recently read that bbc4 is currently showing a danish series called The Killing which apparently is becoming a cult programme. I have put the dvd in my wish list on amazon.

I posted in the 90s thread. I was 20 in 1990. I think they were wonderful years, with lots of hope and optimism and great music.

Bucharest · 21/02/2011 09:12

Hello my lovelies!

A rather odd thread mentioning Italy prompted me to come and lift you up into active conv....

Had brief catch up- Hurrah for new school Euro! (and another wtf from me for the old one)

Permesso morphed into "tessera europea" to be got from local questura/police bods. We do still have to have them Hmm but our application for one can't be refused (suppose it's something to do with not having ID cards) Mine doesn't have an expiry date on it, but IIRC was told they have to be reapplied for every 10 years. Didn't have to pay anything. My tessera sanitaria has always been something apart from the permesso though- a credit card thingy which is codice fiscale and tessera sanitaria combined?

Have eaten 4 slices of toast and lurpak and have just put another 2 in toaster. (am avoiding work as you can see)

Bucharest · 21/02/2011 09:14

Oh, I had the UK not being in Europe when I tried to get a doctor, and then when I applied for maternity pay I was told that as I was from "la repubblica ceca" I didn't qualify. (this said with my UK passport in their hand)Grin
