MrD arrived on time last night.

I hate it when he is away at OW's.

But I hate the tension when he is home.

I gather Austria won last night. I still haven't heard any of the songs.

I was going to hide in the priesthole - but I think I will kidnap Lady Grey and go for a long ride among the bluebells in the sunlit woods. Maybe Mellors can bring a picnic on Earl.

A good gallop would burn off some adrenalin.

MaudantWit · 11/05/2014 10:29

The Girl watched Eurovision, so I got a brief glimpse of the winner at the end.

Hope you enjoy your ride, Donki.

Scout19075 · 11/05/2014 11:21

I watched it. Must admit I love the cheese that is Eurovision. Also will admit I don't get or even like Austria's entry and think there were better ones. But I get it is/was all very political.

Happy (US) Mother's Day to all of the Tea Room inhabitants. Came home from church with SmallBoy and he had a card for me (bless his heart).

Thank you Flowers

Mother's Day buffet, anyone? It has everything you could possibly want, including champagne ---> see here, lovely!

mistlethrush · 11/05/2014 19:00

Spent the day playing today - went pretty well (and I have clearly been judged of sufficient standard and effectively asked back which is nice). I was actually having to play properly - which doesn't happen in every group I play in.

Off singing this evening so its been a music heavy day.

UniS · 11/05/2014 19:20

neat mistle. well done, hope it was fun too.
Disappointed boy, yesterday his bike race was cancelled thanks to high winds. Today's cricket match was cancelled for a soggy pitch and heavy showers forecast ( rightly, they were very heavy). Really hope tomorrows rave isn't called off too.

What instrument(s) do you play MT?

mistlethrush · 11/05/2014 22:44

viola is my main instrument - then violin - I can do a bit on the piano - and baroque violin and basic viol.

UniS · 12/05/2014 09:26

the breakfast buffet of requirement is stocked for your delectation and delight.

I'm having pancakes bacon and maple syrup.

Mmmm!
Pancakes with bacon and maple syrup.
Mushrooms and black pudding.

Heaven!

Just back from taking the neighbours large, overweight, underexercised and badly trained border collie x for a walk.

She is learning not to pull!
Nor lunge at other dogs we meet.

She has a lovely temperament she is just bored

Good timing - the heavens have just opened!

I wish the sky would decide if it was going to bucket down or be sunny because this bit of both at the same time is very frustrating. We have veggies to get into grow bags but can't while it's raining -- SB outgrew his wet weather gear and I can't find mine (suspect it's packed away with the camping kit).

Are you using the 'back' button on your phone Scout?

That's how I get an echo if I post anything from my phone. I have to remember to get to active convos (or whatever) by going back to the top of the page and using the buttons there.

Donki · 12/05/2014 13:05

(And I'm not very good at it Blush )

AnneOfCleavage · 12/05/2014 14:04

I feel your pain Scout as we are wanting to plant out our veg but this weather is so temperamental that I have stopped after the bean plants have been de-leafed in the latest wind blowing contest Sad Am late with parsnips although the carrots have gone in (tho nothing to see yet). Have courgettes to plant out as they are outgrowing their seed pots and romanesco when they grow a bit bigger.

DD had a cooked breakfast this morning - she calls this particular one the 3BP (bacon, baked beans and pancakes) Grin. On games days she has egg, bacon and beans. I on the other hand can only stomach a yoghurt and juice first thing but have coffee and some carbs mid morning after my gym session.

Raining heavily here and the school run looms all too soon... typical!!

Scout19075 · 12/05/2014 16:29

While it would normally be operator error (me!) this time it truly is my phone. I post, the screen goes white and I get some message about not being allowed to perform the operation and then find it's posted my message twice, no matter where I go after I get that screen. It's very ARGH!!!! Only started doing it, too, so need to work out what the issue is.

Might try to go out in a bit and at least move the grow bags to where I want them with the hope of planting in the morning tomorrow before swimming.

I had to rescue our apple tree sapling from a hungry caterpillar over the weekend and need to remember to re-tie it (I had to untie it to remove the stick to get the caterpillar off the leaves and onto a council-owned tree across the street). I didn't want that very hungry caterpillar eating SB's apple tree that he's growing from seed from his snack apple. Came home from our mini-break to see that a seed from one his jam-making pears has sprouted as well (the second pot remains just soil). Peppers from seeds from a stir-fry pepper are growing nicely. We have some apricots (for a snack/syrup thing I'm going to make) so we'll plant a stone as well and see if anything happens. My strawberry seeds are growing nicely I just hope the hail hasn't hurt them. I don't think anything kills the potatoes in the bag. Need to get the tomatoes, peppers and spring onions into bags/better soil. Might try again with some of the other veg I tried growing and killed. And I really need to get the seeds into the council planter that we're in charge of-- across the street so we can have more flowers soon.

SB and I went out this morning to town and got a little wet but fortunately were home before the worst of the weather. He's spent most of the afternoon eating, painting and watching CBeebies. After the craziness of this past week I'm encouraging his veg-out day. I should be doing chores but instead I'm catching up on MN, emails and FB admin instead.
