invoices done, accounts up to date. wine drunk already....

Now to think about either making a recorder bag ( boy has recorder club tomorrow) or doing the washing up after a big baking session earlier.....

Missions accomplished- tho I did wait till dh came home from choir before starting washing up, he's much better at it than I am ( I dry up and put away). Day off tomorrow and I REALLY need to do some housework or we will vanish under the dust bunnies and the ice will overflow the fridge. defrost is long over due.

Scout - does small boy collect dustbunnies, shall I send him a few of ours?

Mistle - I have the joys of cub camp to come next month. experience suggests boy will cope with one late night in a week, two in a weekend may lead to unpleasant fall out. I hope boys teacher works out that about half the class will at cub camp that weekend.

I was summoned into my school for a chat with the Head today...

They are continuing to be supportive. Phew!

I was quite anxious about it beforehand.

MrD moves out a week on Saturday. :(

I have to admit I am finding this week (and probably next week) very difficult.

Brew anyone?
I've just made a huge bucket for myself, and there is plenty left over.

(Thanks UniS - the lavender fudge was delicious. I've never had it before. Ear rubs always help )

Late night cocoa sounds good. The YD has just woken up from a bad dream, and now can't get back to sleep.

Hope you managed to get you and YD back to sleep, Donki. Also good to hear you have some RL support as well.

Well done, Boy!

We're home... but not really home, if that makes sense. We were out most of yesterday -- lunch, YOUT for MrScout and SB to go to Geek Club and then MrScout had a Governor's meeting so SB & I played trains and chatted to all of the parents and children who passed us as we waited (they were all going to/from various after school clubs). Think we might be out-and-about today, too.

SB's bump is looking better but didn't manage a hair wash yesterday so need to do it today. Wish me luck.

The YD ended up in bed with me. It's a single bed and he wriggles. I did manage to doze between wriggles.

He slept ok once he was there and had had a little cry.

I'm pretty sure it is anxiety about SATS and Daddy.

what has small boy managed to do to himself scout?
You may be in for years of bumps and bruises if boys shins and head are any like typical.

Oh joy!
The YD has a stomach bug... or the stress is affecting his digestive system. He just had an explosion...

I will need to see how he is in the morning before I inflict him on the lurcher community.
Or let his friend come round.

MrD is out again... despite agreeing earlier not to go gallivanting this weekend or during SATS.

SmallBoy and I went to a science center/museum while MrScout was doing some work at his old university down on the south coast. SB made a friend in another four-year old boy who was there with his nana and mum (and infant baby sister). I got talking with the adults while the boys played and we ended up being the last two sets of people in the center and got "kicked out" at closing time. We were all walking to the car park towards our cars when the boys decided to race. While I was watching I'm not sure if SB tripped over his own feet or over the other boy's feet. Either way SB went down and his head connected with the sidewalk with speed and force. We spent some quality time in the first aid room with an ice pack. He has a lovely bruise, egg and scrape on the side of his forehead/hairline. It goes further back under his hair than I first realized (despite the fact he sat on my lap and I cleaned sidewalk out of his head/hair before/after the ice pack). After having his glasses snapped by a kid at soft play the other week I'm glad his fall managed to miss the glasses. I knew he was alright when he stopped crying and immediately started telling the first aider about space and explaining The Goldilocks Zone to her.

This wasn't his first head bump/"injury" and it definitely wasn't his worst, but it did have one of the most sickening THUNK sounds as it happened. It certainly made my stomach turn. He's fine now but does like me poking around his head/around the injury.

Oh, poor YD.

::practices forehand and backhand le Creuset manoeuvres::

And poor SB too, but it sounds as if he has been very brave.

Poor YD, I do hope it is a 'one off' rather than a bug.

Scout19075 · 09/05/2014 22:21

You know, Donki, I really should have taken my LeCreuset grill pan on our mini "holi-days" earlier in the week. If nothing else it would have been good to see MrDonk run.

Lush, SB was brave but the sound of head connecting with sidewalk was sickening. No one warned me about the horrible the sounds of injuries/illness when I was pregnant!
