Dishes done and am starving so having mini pork pies and pkt of crisps.

Afternoon all.
Started off lovely here too @DirtyGertiefromno30 but now cloudy, dark and threatening rain which is a pia cos I have washing i now need to hang inside. Ds1 has washing to hang too.

Been out and potted on all my foxgloves and still had a couple of paper flower seedlings surviving as well. Collected some foxglove seeds too. Wasn't cold just dull and breezy. Staked my tomatoes and put more compost in the pots.
Ds2 was making himself brunch and when he saw me with the foxglove seed heads he looked outside and said Hmmm looking out I would say you have enough plants already!!! Silly boy, enough plants??? 😁 So explained foxgloves to him so he let me off.😁
Will take him down when he goes to work as i have to pick up my hosp meds at surgery, will nip to coop and ds1 will go to coop too. Just need bread and milk really.

Hmm clouds are really stacking up now but I can glimpse blue sky through them😡
Welcome to the insomniac club @DirtyGertiefromno30 . 😁 I didnt sleep till after 4, I wasn't amused. But the Skyrim story was good. Not something that's mentioned in the older game so was new to me and thought provoking as usual.

I had to laugh at your DS2 saying you've got enough plants already @Thebookofcarolagain. Clearly he doesn't understand how gardening works 😂. Good save with the foxglove explanation though 😁
Hope you manage to dodge the rain and get the washing sorted. Fingers crossed And I hope the trip for your meds and the Co-op is straightforward.

Popped to Morrisons to get a few bits of gf stuff for me. While there DH spotted 3 x Golden Delicious apple trees that were frazzled and he asked a d they gave him them 😱. They were £20 each before they died 👏
So he's extremely happy 😁

Rain wasn't appeared yet, it just messing with us.
Been down to do the bits, car park still closed but managed to nab the last parking pace on high st nearest coop. Walked along seafront for some fresh air. Sea is very grey today.
Got a steak pie in reduced section for tomorrow's tea. £1.50 instead of £4. Not too shabby should have got 2 and put one in freezer, damm. They aren't huge but enough for 3 might add sausages if meat is sparce. Apart from milk and maybe bread at end of week I dont need to go shopping. Might take a trip in to check out plant bargains though 😉
Have chicken chunks marinading in Harissa paste for tea. Will remember to add a bit of stock so they aren't too dry this time.

Added cannolini beans, carrots, spring onions and ss peas and red pepper for me (and ds2 will get them too later.) Over rice. Not too shabby.

Not much to report here , but toddling along , but with you on sleeping badly Dirtie - that seems to have gone out the window for me recently - we could have had a chat at 2 this morning 🙄
Can never have too many plants BookofCarol - I need them , as my garden is starting to look like a desert , as I will not water , and we haven't had a splash for weeks now , and some more hot days ahead .
Where is your DH going to put 3 apple trees Dirtie ??
would you believe we had home grown savoy cabbage , mash and stew tonight ? The cabbages need to be eaten at their best , but it wasn't a choice I would have made totally willingly 😂- the courgettes are going well , and aubergines and cucumbers are starting to overflow a bit , but tomatoes are resolutely not ripening . I need them to make my pasta sauces !!
other than a bit of mending , and a bit of baking, and watering , thats about it here .

My tom plants don't even have flowers! I am leaving them as info says they fruit July until Oct but not holding my breath.
I need to fill out the front of my top border. It needs more top soil and compost first. This stupid garden is never ending and never seems to get anywhere. I want one of those gardens bursting with flowers!
Still have dark clouds but no rain yet.
Next time I cant sleep i will pop on here and see if you and @DirtyGertiefromno30 are awake @bookbook 😁Be nice to know i wasn't alone in the middle of the night😄

Sounds like you've got plenty coming out of the garden @Thebookofcarolagain, even if the tomatoes are being awkward! 😂 They'll probably all decide to ripen at once when you least expect it.
Sorry your sleep's gone rubbish too. Seems a few of us are awake at silly o'clock lately. Hopefully we'll all get a decent night's sleep soon.

Glad you had a better night @DirtyGertiefromno30 . I was late to bed fell asleep a little after 2, woke at 4 but did go back to sleep shortly after. Hey ho, such is life.
No plans for today. (House work boooo) Will see when ds2 has his day off this week and go get the few bits of shopping and mooch around the plants.😁

Sounds like we had the same weather @Thebookofcarolagain, a bit of rain overnight then just grey skies. It's sunny here now though got 2 loads out 😊 .At least you managed to get back to sleep after waking at 4, even if it wasn't the best night's sleep.
Housework definitely deserves a boooo! 😂 Hope DS2's day off lines up so you can escape for a little shopping and a wander around the plants. That's always the best bit. Have a lovely day whatever you get up to. 🌿
