Hope everyone has started their 30 day challenge... let us know how you're getting on

OP posts:
Smalline · 30/06/2009 22:20

Workout 19 done, the focus was on the arms so the usual bicep curls, tricep kickbacks etc. boxing & tennis, running for the legs, no jumping thank goodness, had a few runs, 3 minutes, 6 minutes then another 3 minutes. A new exercise was introduced - side twists, and for the first time during the whole challenge I did not reach the projected calorie burn, was about 10 under at 164, usually I'm over between 10 and 20, oh well a first time for everything I suppose.

Only 1 workout left, I'm going to miss you guys

Sorry have not posted for a bit..life has been getting in the way! Got one more workout to do (where has the time gone?) which I am going to do tomorrow morning I think. I also will try out the other workouts they have..although I am sure I saw one which lasts 50 minutes - eek!

AnnieShamrockInYourEar · 01/07/2009 10:45

Morning!
Day 29, Workout 17 yesterday. Only burnt 74 calories, but enjoyed the boxing. I've changed back to the male trainer again, out of boredom!

All of you ladies will complete in time then. Well done everyone! I would like to continue too, but without incentive I don't know if I would. I've got into the habit of not drinking during the week, because of these workouts and although I haven't lost any weight I do feel much more toned, and aware of my posture.

Yoga lesson now.

Tigerbear at doing it naked!! Hope you had the curtains closed!!

tigerbear · 01/07/2009 12:10

Oh yes, the blinds were most definitely down! (Am on a major bus route in central London - didn't want to be giving anyone an eyeful!).

Don't leave everyone! I still have another 15 workouts to do!

DH mentioned that I looked thinner this morning, but the scales on say that I've lost about 2 pounds - I feel much better though.

Smalline · 01/07/2009 22:58

Yay finished the challenge with workout 20 today. Whilst doing the exercises was thinking how I had progressed, for instance the in-line skating, think I only managed about 4-5 at the beginning, today I did 23.

Once you get used to the controls & the timings of the exercises (which can be a bit slow at times)this game is not bad at all!

Good idea Ruby, I'll keep posting on here until we are chucked off.

tigerbear · 02/07/2009 01:03

Wow, well done for finishing Smalline!

I did basketball for the first time today, and it was well hard! Felt like such a weakling and only managed to get about 4 through the hoop.

The inline skating and squat jumps totally killed me again, and by the end of the skating I wasn't really jumping properly. Really enjoyed the bent over rows, bicep curls and strangely enough, the lunges! And was only told off by the trainer about twice! Yey!
I'm starting to see excellent results on my arms - more toned and defined, and my legs feel firmer too.

All I need now is a good tummy workout!

I have just bought one of these with my own money after reading your feedback. So if I don't like it I shall be tracking you all down individually and... well... nothing really as by definition you'll all be much fitter than me...

I did day 1 last week and have done nothing since

This heat is too much for me.

PortAndLemon · 02/07/2009 17:19

Well, I've already lost just over a stone and all I've done is open the packet...

(In a manner of speaking. I weighed myself to create a profile and found that I'm actually about a stone lighter than I thought I probably was. Which is the first time in my life it's ever happened that way round...)

futurity · 03/07/2009 12:38

Finished today at last after putting it off due to being too busy and due to the heat..my lounge is like an oven! Pleased to have got to the end and trying to work out what to do next as I was already doing it on the hardest level. Will have to look into the various preset workouts they have. Not this weekend though as am going to see Take That

Well done Smalline and Futurity for finishing!! Brilliant.

I still have 3 workouts left, but am on day 32 now, so I've failed

I blame the two boozy weekends I've had...

I will finish, just not in the time limit.
I've had three days rest (blame the heat!) but just felt too tired to do it. Maybe tomorrow eh.

Smalline · 03/07/2009 21:26

Thanks Tigerbear & Annie. A big well done to you Futurity for finishing. I'm going to give myself a couple of days break from the game. I went to an aerobics class last night, did some stomach exercises

tigerbear · 04/07/2009 16:11

I've just done my best workout yet - burned 175 calories, and was only predicted to do 146!!! Did volleyball for the first time which was good, and am really enjoying all of the shoulder and arm exercies. The fast kick backs were horrendous today though, and the side lunges are hurting a bit due to having done something to my left knee.
Overall, I'm very happy with the results so far - am seeing huge improvement in the tone of my arms and legs! Yay!

I have done four workouts so far and burned a little over 500 calories. I'm just doing the low intensity at the moment (my vague medium-term plan being to do the 30-day challenge on Low, then again on Medium and then again on High... but we'll see). Anything involving jumping is a disaster, but I'm still enjoying it and not bored (which I normally am after about two sessions of anything). My confidence remains serene even through DH's slim and incredibly fit 17yo cousin being here this week and breezing through most of the exercises on the highest level (she rather liked the fact that the coach was nice to you rather than just shouting...)

AnnieOneForTennis · 06/07/2009 14:33

Still haven't done my last three workouts. . But I did do a Pilates class on Friday, and a swim today...

I'll try tonight I promise. If I'm gonna fail, I may as well fail miserably!

tigerbear · 06/07/2009 15:34

I'm glad I'm not the only one left on this thread!

AnnieOneForTennis · 06/07/2009 15:51

Still here too tigerbear!

Meant to say, I used my free EA towel that we got in our goodie bags today at swimming, and it was very fluffy. SO fluffy in fact that I was covered in fluff and don't know if I got it all off!!
Should have washed it first really...

tigerbear · 06/07/2009 15:56

Hi Annie - I used mine for the first time yesterday too, for sitting on in the park - mine's got loads of grass stuck to it now!

Are you doing your challenge tonight?
I will if you will!

AnnieOneForTennis · 06/07/2009 16:16

Yes, I think I should. Shall we?!

tigerbear · 06/07/2009 18:41

Oooh, shit, just saw your post. Totally forgot all about it.
Have you done it yet? I'm off to buy dinner, then I'll probably do it when I get back.
