Hope everyone has started their 30 day challenge... let us know how you're getting on

Day 8 Tuesday. Really didn't feel like doing it last night, but I did it - 28 minutes, 112 calories. Knackered after it (though it was very late!) Haven't lost any weight yet... I was crap at the basket ball, but got the hang of it at the last ball! Duh! Been promised volleyball at the next one!

Today is a rest day, AND I'm missing my yoga class because of the tube strike... might have to do something instead though.

NaNN, I felt too tired to do it too, but felt 10 times better after doing it! Do it girl! Work it baby! Or something...

futurity · 10/06/2009 11:37

Aching today after yesterdays intense workout so am going to do todays session 7 tonight when DH is out.

NeedaNewName · 10/06/2009 11:57

OK Annie will do my workout tonight and be extra good - not skip any exercises!

futurity · 10/06/2009 20:53

Just done session 7. Was foolishly thinking "this is alright" when I came across the high kick backs..which went on for AGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS! And then lunges afterwards (I think it was..something cruel anyway!).

Thankfully rest day tomorrow!

Smalline · 10/06/2009 22:14

Workout day 6, I'm definitely beginning to enjoy the challenge now, now that I have got the hang of holding the controls, didn't swear at the trainer once tonight. Didn't get any ab exercises in my 'full body' workout, in fact, looking through the range of exercises offered, I'm pretty sure we won't be seeing any of these in the challenge.

Did some basket ball tonight for the first time, that was great, got told that I was too strong on occasions when the ball went way over the target and into the next field. The in-line skating killed me tonight, 2 lots of 24, a little tip by the way, if you want to do some tricks, don't jump when they say jump, wait a bit longer, until you are nearly at the end of the ramp and then jump, tried that tonight and managed 16 tricks, 2 of which included some roll over jumps in the air... how cool is that!

Earned 2 more trophies tonight, 1 for completing 100 squats (and I felt everyone of those) and one for burning a 1000 calories during the course of the challenge so far. Tonights Projected calorie burn was 194.3 managed 202.8, am looking forward to tomorrows workout already.

NeedaNewName · 10/06/2009 23:37

100 squats - ouch!!!!!! Well done.

Well I did my workout tonight, did miss some exercises though, still having trouble with my knees so no lunges again - will try again tomorrow.

Lots of upper body stuff tonight which was good and inline skating, tennis and dancing which made it feel a little less gym like

I do have one gripe though, Every time you are shown hopw to do the next exercise you also have to listen to how to position the nunchuck / use the resistance band etc - wish you could skip that without skipping the instructions.

No you're probably right Ruby, I just dont think I have the strength!!!!

Oh well guess I need to do them to get the strength. Promise I won't wimp out tonight!

Smalline · 11/06/2009 22:04

Workout day 7, projected calorie burn 203, managed 213. Lunges, lunges and even more lunges, volley ball too! I've got some dance moves for my warm up next workout yippee! followed by upper body workout... can't wait

Squiffy · 12/06/2009 08:10

Well, all went pear shaped (rather like me, really)....

Struggled through in agony, whinged to DH and he checked and diagnosed that bottom rib has 'popped out' (where? To buy a paper?).

He did offer to put it back in the right place (they all apparantly do this to each other quite often in the changing rooms after a rugby match) but after being warned that yes, I would scream very loudly, I decided to rest it for a day or two instead....

I blame the side lunges, by the way....

futurity · 12/06/2009 09:43

ouch Squiffy! you poor thing..hope it feels better soon.

Did session 8 this morning with some dancing which is all a bit silly. Then came those high kicks again...not a fan of those! Had to skip a few things as run out of time...even though it says it will take 30 mins I find it always takes longer ..probably because I am going too slow or the system is complaining as it can't register my movements!

sis · 12/06/2009 09:51

I tried to do the workout yesterday but gave up after about 15 minutes as it just kept on freezing - very frustrating! I did a custom workout instead but feel cross that I couldn't do the workout on the 30-day challenge.

AnnieShamrockInYourEar · 12/06/2009 15:02

Day 9 Wednesday - Rest (and I didn't get to my yoga class either cos of the tube strike, but I did half an hour at home)

Day 10 Thursday - 25 minutes, burnt 114 calories. Had a revelation when I realised that you are NOT meant to slam your knees down on the floor during the lunges! WHoops! Have been to Pilates today and felt the thighs, but they're ok now.
Hopefully I'll be able to do it tonight, though I have arranged to go to the pub...

Squiffy, hope you feel better. Sounds painful. Best to rest!

NeedANewName - good on ya girl!!

futurity · 13/06/2009 19:02

Did day 9 this morning...could not to those holding squats at all..my legs were burning so much..how on earth am I meant to hold them for 1 minute!!

futurity · 15/06/2009 10:37

Day 10 done...half way Pretty repetitive today although does look like things are going to change a bit as there was a little video at the end indicating some different moves etc

AnnieShamrockInYourEar · 15/06/2009 10:48

Day 11 Friday - Went to the pub...

Day 12 Saturday - Went away for the night...

Day 13 Sunday - returned from alcohol-soaked night

Day 14 Monday - Did an early morning workout as I won't have time tonight (school meeting)
It was about 28 minutes, but seemed to take about 45, burnt 117 calories, yaay! It felt warm, but not difficult so I think I will up the intensity next time. I was rubbish at the dance moves!!
Haven't done holding squats yet, futurity! They sound yuck!! When you say Day 10 is halfway, so you are not counting the rest days?! Ah, so I've only done 8 workouts out of 20 then, but 14 days of the 30, IYKWIM...

Come on girls!

sis · 15/06/2009 11:04

HOORAY! finally managed to complete a workout without giving up because of the freezing! I think I have only completed about 5 workout because of the freezing screen thing. I may try the hard setting although the medium workouts are making me sweat.

Smalline · 15/06/2009 21:29

Workout day 8 for me, although it should have been 10, I've have too many rest days!!! did some Tae-Bo on saturday, but that doesn't count does it! does anyone know how to change a rest day into a workout day, otherwise I am not going to complete the challenge?

Todays workout was more of the same, but with some dancing, that was a laugh, for some reason it didn't dawn on me until near the end of the routine, that I should doing the moves on both sides, only done them on the left to begin with doh! projected calorie burn tonight was 207.8 managed 230!!! Ooh and I loved the salsa music.

AnnieShamrockInYourEar · 16/06/2009 13:01

Smalline, I think if you just do the workout on the rest day, it becomes a workout day. I've done three days in a row before.

futurity · 16/06/2009 13:06

I think there are 20 workout days in the 30 day challenge which is why I refered to being half way...I get confused what day I am on to be honest lol! Did workout 11 this morning which was alright...still find the dancing silly though (especially with two children watching) but enjoyed the tennis..Wimbledon here I come!

Smalline · 16/06/2009 18:25

Many thanks Annie, I'll try that on my next rest day which is tomorrow.

Smalline · 16/06/2009 21:34

Workout 9 completed today, these included jumping lunges followed by inline skating what a killer, and then to top it all off holding squats.

burned 190 calories.

AnnieShamrockInYourEar · 17/06/2009 10:43

Day 15 Tuesday - couldn't be arsed last night, but I went and did it anyway, upped the intensity to high, which was probably not a good idea, as I ended up skipping some lunges and squats - the holding squats - WTF!? Still only burned 115 caloried though, how can you all burn 190 and more?

Yoga class now...

[lazy]
But Ruby, they wouldn't have burnt an extra 80 calories surely? I didn't skip them ALL!
Maybe I'll be more enthusiastic tonight after my yoga class (and hopefully DH won't have a curry ready to eat just as I start...)
