Thanks for letting me try these. We really liked them.

As well as my feedback on the chicken curry, we’ve now also tried the Beef&Ale and Chilli.

Chilli was a success; although fairly mild, it meant the kids ate it happily. The pouch was so easy to use.

Beef&Ale not at all successful with the kids, although DH enjoyed it. It had a weird sort of herby taste that they (and I) didn’t like.

We struggled to find the sauces at first and my partner finally found them in a Sainsbury's store having checked several supermarkets.

1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?

I liked the simplicity of the sauces, we tried the pulled pork and it was simply put the pork in the slow cooker and add the sauce. I also loved that it was so thick and sticky when it firszt came out of the pouch however the texture loosened massively with cooking but was still thick enough to give the meat a good covering.

1. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried?

My partner loved that he could use the left overs in wraps for work as the pulled pork worked really well for that. The BBQ wasn't overly spicy like some are and didn't have a bitter aftertaste either.

1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?

I would simply for the ease of them, it's great to be able to just chuck the basics in the slow cooker and have something delicious at the end of the day.

1. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced?

I'd love to see some more flavours aimed away from red meat. Chicken or vegetarian options would be great. Things like honey mustard chicken would be lovely.

They were easy to use - just browning and softening, then shoving into the pot and leaving for the day.

Nothing really, other than ease - we weren't very impressed.

1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?

No, I wouldn't recommend, and doubt I'll buy again. The beef and ale didn't really taste of anything in particular and I think could be recreated with an oxo-cube stock. For the chicken curry one - there was absolutely nothing gained by having it done in the slow cooker compared to a jar of sauce in a pan which can be done in 20 minutes, instead of taking all day.

1. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced?

Something that would actually really benefit from slow cooking could be good - a different stew or casserole.

Thanks for the vouchers to test these sauces (although tesco wouldn't accept the vouchers so we just bought the sauces anyway!). The only 2 available in our supermarket were chicken curry and pulled pork so that is what we tested.

What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?
Great flavours, tasted homemade rather than salty or sugary packet taste.

Different meals for us, we tend to use the slow cooker for stews and casseroles so the kids were loving the aroma of the food cooking!

Yes, very tasty and easy to use. They were a bit dearer than I would usually spend on a packet but I would get again for a weekend treat as the kids loved it and it was nice and easy to make.

I'd love some Spanish/Mexican flavours or some more traditional dishes. I'd love to be able to find the other flavours to try as well though since we could only source 2 flavours.

We all enjoyed the taste and thought the curry flavour was good.

I am so sorry but I couldn't find these products at my local Sainsburys and haven't been able to get to a bigger store due to lockdown.

I liked the fact they needed very little effort to make them and the ones I tried were not too spicy so great for the children.
My partner enjoyed the fact it was simple to make but still good on flavour. My children enjoyed both the chicken curry and chilli con carne and didn't complain they were to spicy.
I would recommend to anyone who doesn't enjoy cooking from scratch or just doesn't have the time. These still give you a great meal that's full of flavour.
I would like to see lots of different flavours maybe some spicier ones and meat free dishes would be great also.

We have only managed to track down the Beef & Ale sauce so far. The pulled pork variety was out of stock.

I was very grateful to return from my 12 hour hospital ward shift yesterday to a tasty and nutritious meal. Although not as good as something I'd have made myself, blit was very useful because the rest of the family eat a couple of hours before I return from work, and so I'm not present to tweak flavours (and DH isn't the best cook in the world).

I look forward to trying the other varieties.

1. So nice that's it's all made for you, quick and simple! Put it on an go about your day!

Again, the way they tasted. Both teen boys, one a fussy eater, loved them and they were well proportioned, plenty for 4 adults appetites.

Yes definitely, because of their ease of use, flavour and effective cost.

I’d love a vegetarian version of something, or options to make current flavours veggie.

3. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why? Probably not. I have made far tastier versions of the meals using 'from scratch' ingredients.

They weren't a huge fan of the flavour compared to homecooking from scratch but they are a good emergency dinner solution

I'd recommend to those who don't like to cook as they are a good quick fix

Different varieties of casserole and different flavours of curry

We all loved the beef and ale sauce, the pulled pork my lot weren't so keen on (I don't eat pork so didn't try that one). We will definitely be buying again and I've already recommended them to my parents as I know they'd love them. I liked that I could put everything in the slow cooker and come back later to a cooked meal with very very little effort! We want to try the chilli next. My kids would like a chicken chasseur version to try.
