1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?

They were so easy to use, my oldest daughter is just starting to enjoy helping me cook, got involved.

1. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried?

Definitely the flavours, were new to slow cookers but having something slow cook for so long really intensified what were normally used to tasting.

1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?

Gave a good result and was simple and quick to use. I would definitely recommend them.

maybe some Indian inspired flavours, or Caribbean flavours

1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces? The convenience and minimal preparation. You can pretty much check everything in and leave for the day
2. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried? Something we can all enjoy together as the flavours werent too strong for our 6 year old but still enough flavour to appeal to adults
3. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why? I think it's handy to have one or two in the cupboard so if youre pushed for time its can be an easy dinner option. Especially if you arent going to be at home
4. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced? something red wine/minty for lamb would be nice and some other flavours of the world that I may not have tried

We tried the curry and chilli flavours.

1. What did we like about them? Not much to be honest. They were just as much hassle as the usual slow cooker recipes we make, and the flavours were a bit odd. The curry in particular tasted more like a very mild tagine. Not sure we would have known what we were eating in a blind taste test...
2. The favourite thing about these was that they smelled lovely while cooking, even if the flavour didn't quite match.
3. Would we recommend them? Sorry but no! Not as nice or as easy as our normal recipes. Maybe ok for a very inexperienced or unconfident cook.
4. We probably wouldn't buy again, no matter what the flavour so no suggestions to make.

Easy to use, the flavour of pulled pork was nice. The chicken curry was a bit blander and not as much of a hit.

I liked the pulled pork, gave me a chance to make a new recipe that I'd not done before and was really straightforward.

I'm sure you could make these recipes from scratch but for ease I would mention them yes.

Veggie flavours, something Mexican.

I wasn't able to complete the testing as my local Tesco doesn't sell it.

They were ok but I needed to add extra seasonings for our tastebuds.

The convenience of being able to throw everything in and leave for the day.

Pulled pork isn't something we usually do so the opportunity to have a new meal that's easy to make.

Yes, though the range is fairly limited so that could be improved.

Something creamy, like a creamy chicken/stroganoff.

Easy to use and so convenient to put on at lunchtime and have dinner ready later

I definitely would - some people don't like packet mixes but it takes the worry out about getting the flavour right.

To be honest I'd try anything new - I struggle to come up with 'different' things for the slow cooker. We have the same faves we use a lot.

The ease of use, literally chuck everything in the slow cooker and a few hours later dinner is ready. I work long hours so this made life so much easier

The chilli flavour was really good and also that the consistency was just right rather than runny

Yes to people without spare time on their hands and the price is comparable with other cooking sauces

Chicken casserole and maybe a meatball sauce

Easy to prepare, convenient, and a nice tasty meal at the end of the day.

We tried the Pulled Pork - not a meal we have ever made before, and everyone really enjoyed it. Very tasty, and have had the children asking when we can have it again. We also had the chilli, which was a lot nicer than I thought it would be.

1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?

Yes - a really convenient way of cooking tasty meals.

Spicy dishes, chinese dishes.

We tried the Beef and Ale and Chicken Curry

1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces? Thickness of the sauce, and the ease to use.
2. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried? The beef and Ale was delicious - even my 6 year old ate it. Chicken curry was quite mild and I probably wouldnt use again.
3. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why? I would yes - handy to have in the cupboard for an easy prep meal.
4. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced? As already mentioned, sausage casserole or a creamy chicken/pork flavour would be nice.

1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?

They were very easy to use. The curry was acceptable to both children, the beef and ale only to one but that was because the other won't eat beef. I followed the instructions and browned everything first, but I'm not sure that was really necessary.

Nothing too weird. They also liked the dumplings I served in the beef and ale.

Yes - it's easy to use but adds a good flavour.

Lamb rogan jhosh, cajun chicken, Mexican (not just chilli), other more adventurous flavours.

Update

I've made the Beef and Ale twice now as that was the only sachet I could find.

Second time around I was prepared for the quantity of sauce it made.

This time I added a pint of gravy to the sachet and my brisket joint.

Made dumplings 30 mins before serving and the meal was 10/10

Perfect.

These were really tasty. I have tried other branded slow cooker sauces in the past but didn't find them pleasant. I used both that arrived and was pleasantly surprised. Mainly with the chicken curry one. i didn't need to add anything else which made it cheaper and easier. I would recommend them, especially for working family as takes a lot of hassle out of preparing the food. Would love to see some soup ones!

Really enjoyed these, would love to see variations of the curry. My 14 year old wasn’t convinced on the beef and ale but he’s a fussy eater!

We tested the beef and ale & the chilli con carne sauces. We really enjoyed the flavours and end result but my 2 young children were not as interested in the chilli, more down to their fussiness than anything else. I loved how rich the flavours were too.

I would recommend the range to others to try, and I’d like to see some Thai inspired flavours- maybe a green or red curry.

What I really rate about these was how easy it was to prepare and how few ingredients were needed to make some really delicious meals. Pretty much put 3 things into the slow cooker and ta da!

Couldn't be easier to use and surprisingly tasty! The chicken curry was particularly nice.

I would recommend the curry particularly. The beef and ale was also tasty but we are big fans of curry here. The price was a bit steep in my opinion as we often cook from scratch. However, I would definitely use them for an easy dinner!

That it's quick and easy to use, I can just chuck everything in the slowcooker and tea is ready that night.

They loved the bbq one as its something we would normally have.

Yes I would as its quick and easy. Being a mum of five with a 4 month old who has severe reflux I need meal times to be quick.

Sausage casserole / chicken casserole or a bolognese one.

Ooh yeah, Thai red/green curry would be great!

I have a fussy eater son who wouldn't even entertain the idea of trying it. But I however love the taste.

Yes as they are good value and taste lovely

Sausage casserole, a different chicken one (not curry as I'm not a fan) spaghetti bolognase.

Sadly I couldn't find anyone locally who stocked the product and can't really go further afield to look elsewhere during lockdown. I will hang on to the vouchers and try the product when I can though, as I'm genuinely interested to check it out. I'm a huge fan of slow cookers but I think people get daunted about what to do with them so this is an excellent gateway product for people who aren't confident making their own sauces or if you're just insanely time pressed. I'd like to see more vegetarian options.
