Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the Toomies Bath Rocket, first impressions of this my boy was very curious of it and its size is quite good too and the simplicity of it

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

My boy could easily hold it and the design was easy to identify what it was plus it was fun dipping it in and out of water making woosh sounds whilst bathing

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes definately, as my youngest 2 enjoy having toys in the bath and it keeps them happy and occupied

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Definately as I am sure like myself others struggle to get young ones to enjoy bath time and this makes it more fun and exciting

The great thing is the toy can be washed easily with no excess dirt clumping into it

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

I would change nothing as its great how it is

- Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the Toomie foam cone factory, initial impressions were good, packaging looked impressive. Nice engaging colours kids excited to get it out the box.
- What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
The kids loved the idea of making icecreams, I liked that almost all of the packaging should be recyclable although as is true for all kids toys forever it was really quite difficult to get out! Might be just me though.
It doesn't stick the the wall securely enough for the force you have to place on the handle to produce the foam which is annoying and disappointing for the kids.

- Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
No
- Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
No
- If you could add or change a feature what would it be? Either reduce the pressure you have to place to produce the foam or make it stick more securely to the wall.

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the octopals, first impression was it looked fun- my daughter wanted to play with it as soon as I took it out of the box
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My daughter loved squirting water, hiding the little ones under the ‘mummy’ and sticking them to the side/bottom of the bath. I don’t really like the stand they come on- it didn’t get played with much and it’s difficult to store. It’s too big to sit on the edge of the bath when not in use and the pieces all fall off. We’ll probably put the stand elsewhere and just play with the pieces!
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes, it’s great fun!
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Either make the stand smaller or some way that the pieces slot in/stick on to make it easier to store

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

Octopals. Attractive packaging, my daughter was drawn to it.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

My daughter loved the facial expressions on the octopus, and immediately began copying each of them. She loved the bright colours and the numbers, and enjoyed being able to squirt water once I helped her fill it up. The middle section that acts as a water spout was lots of fun too.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

I would consider it, but I'm apprehensive that they will last as I can't find a way to ensure the inside of the octopus can be cleaned.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes. I would probably buy as a gift.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Make it easier to clean. Perhaps a net bag to store it too.

catmg · 01/09/2019 10:35

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

Fountain Rocket.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

Likes: sturdy, good quality, very satisfying whoosh type effect when the water comes out of it in a great shape. Easy to keep clean, can't imagine it would get mould in weird places like some bath toys

Dislikes: very simple, didn't do anything other than empty with the satisfying whoosh. Would have liked something a bit more stimulating for my child, or which involved a bit of problem solving.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Not this particular toy, simply because it's a bit too simple.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes because of the quality.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Maybe a bit more interaction would be good. So if you had a couple of rings that you could throw into the rocket tip.

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
The Octopals and it looked like great fun!
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My boy really liked all the little octopi, putting them in his cups, sticking them to the bath and tiles and trying to squirt water out of them. We both couldn't do anything with the base / stand that was included.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes it's very colourful, fits into small hands and can be played with in combination of other toys as well (in our case our other water cups)
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes definitely or I would give it as a gift to someone!! You can have a lot of fun with this bath toy.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
As easier way to clean the octopi babies on the inside (because of mold you'll have later on sadly) and maybe an easier way to store them in the bathroom. Maybe a net or a tub where the little octo babies can sit in perhaps.
RK2017 · 01/09/2019 11:39

We tested the Toomies Octopals Bath Toy, at first glance of the product I found it very appealing and eye catching. My child and I absolutely love it. All aspects of the toy from the design and concept are brilliant, from the smooth durable material to the bright bold fun colours. The Mummy Octopus makes a lovely, lively shower for her little babies, they squirt water and stick to the side of the bath and tiled wall as well, this feature is great as when finished with bathtime, the toys can be left stuck to the surfaces mentioned until next time and they look neat and tidy too. I find this bath toy very playful and educational, it teaches and develops the fine dexterity skills of little one's and bathtime turns into a wonderful experience. The creative games of matching the funny cute faces of the eight little baby octopuses to the floating island and the fantastic number and colour matching games are superb fun. This bath toy is the best as it offers so much, I would definitely purchase it and other products from the Toomies Bath Toys range in the future and I recommend them to family, friends and everyone with little one's. They are perfect in every way, I would love to see the range expand with new characters.

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Octopals, I thought the box looked quite plain and more geared towards adults. Could be more colourful.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
Loved getting the little octopals and squirting them and getting squirted.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Unsure.....cleaning may be an issue.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Easy cleaning or drying but no suggestions of how!

Thanks!

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

The Ice Cream factory. My daughter was excited by the packaging.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

The main issue we had is that the lever was far too stiff for her to pull herself, so she wasn’t really able to use it properly without assistance. The packaging says 18mths but I’d say it is suitable for children over 2 at the earliest. The suction pads also kept sliding.

My daughter loved the colours and the sprinkle shaker as she could interact with it.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

For an older child, yes, but not for a toddler.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Only to older children.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Make it easier to clean, I am worried about black mould.

ArnoldJRimmer · 01/09/2019 14:30

Which bath toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the Fountain Rocket. First thoughts when taking it out of the packaging was that it was big and colourful and my 16 month DS couldn't wait to get it out and immediately started playing with it.

What did you or your child like or dislike?

We loved that it was a rocket. 'Zoom zoom zoom we're going to the moon' is the current favourite nursery rhyme so we had great fun singing this in the bath while using the toy. I thought the way the water fans out was brilliant and looked like the rocket was taking off. My DS also liked putting his other small, squirty bath toys inside it. However we disliked that the water emptied very quickly and that was all it did. The little star is cute but pointless. I was expecting it to do something so was disappointed when it didn't.

Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

I would because my kids love rockets and space but only if it was at the right price since it doesn't do anything other than empty of water pretty quickly.

Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes. We had fun, and it looks easy to keep clean and has survived many thumps off the top of the bath.

If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Maybe a squirty astronaut or alien to go with it that can sit inside.

lyd4165 · 01/09/2019 15:21

My 1&4 year olds loved testing the Octopals. They were excited before it even got to the bath. Very good initial impression with all the bright colours and recyclable packaging. They loved every aspect of this toy especially squirting water from the little octopi! I would definitely choose to buy this over other toys and would highly recommend it. The only thing I would change if I could is I would make the little parts stay on the main plastic floating part better. If you’re like us and move this around when not in use from the bath they fall off quite easily.

blubelle7 · 01/09/2019 15:47

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

Toomies Octopals. I was impressed by the initial appearance..nice and brightly coloured, it certainly caught my DS's eye. I thought the pals could have done with some suction to attach to the octopus but that was my initial thought before use.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

DS liked the toy,s appearance and the squishiness of the pals. He also thoroughly enjoyed playing with this during bathtime. No bad points from him really.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

I would choose to purchase this in future.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

I would recommend these toys to friends and family.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I would definitely do something about cleaning the toy as the others have stated, this is bound to go mouldy quickly. Using harsh cleaners will crack the plastic which would be problematic as my DS enjoys putting toys in his mouth. I would end up throwing this out sooner than I should. That might make the toy cost prohibitive as I wouldn't spend £20-40 on something DS can only play with for a couple of months. Instructions would also be handy

-Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Fountain rocket - my daughter was very excited by it! She loves bath time anyway, so this was a great bonus.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
Very simple for her to use independently. She loves the motion of falling water, trying to catch it, watching the effect it has on the bath water, hearing the noise. It was a lovely toy for her.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yep, just what we like in a bath toy: interactive and simple.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yep.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Doesn’t need anything else - keep it simple.
Snazzygoldfish · 01/09/2019 16:38
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the octopals toy. First impressions was that it was a nice box, but we both like toys that you can touch and feel before buying so a box with the side cut out would be nice. I loved the easily recycled packaging, it made it so so easy!

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

He really liked the squirting feature and the shower. He was frustrated trying to put the octopals back on the base. My older son enjoyed the numbers. We added a fishing net and chose which numbered octopal to pick out.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes and having read this thread I've added the icecream toy to the birthday list!

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

I would make it easier to balance the octopals on the base and add a fishing net to scoop them up.

Thank you

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the Fountain Rocket. My initial impression was that it was a bit big for bath time (I was unsure if my little one would find it too big/scary) but colourful and looked like something we’d have fun with!

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

My son absolutely loved it! I needn’t have worried about the size, didn’t come across as an issue at all. My son loved getting the water in, he loved watching the water coming out of the bottom and loved pretending to fly the rocket!

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

I would. It was engaging, colourful and fun for bath time. My son doesn’t always enjoy bath time so toys are a great distraction!

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Most definitely. Good quality, sturdy product. Very colourful and engaging. Great for a wide range of ages too.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Nothing, we loved it!

misslj86 · 01/09/2019 19:34

We got to test the tomy octopals. On first impression it looked great, large bulky pieces ideal for toddlers, bright colours and looked to have multiple uses in play. There was nothing we disliked about the toy, my son loved squirting the water, sticking the smaller toys to the side of the bath and counting how many they were as he’s recently enjoying learning to count. I would chose to buy from the tomy bath range again definitely over other brands, they are a well trusted brand that specialise in pre school toys, the bath toy had several ways to play so would keep them entertained for a long time. I would recommend them to friends and family with young children as both my children have enjoyed playing with it including his older sister who is 4. The only thing I would change is if there was a way to prevent water staying inside the squirting toys as I have seen other similar bath toys which can collect mould/dirt inside from being wet, apart from that I think it is great, I love the multi use ways to play with it and also that it can help them with their counting which is very age appropriate and the best way for a child that age to learn is through play.

Stardustmoon · 01/09/2019 19:49

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy? Roomies Rocket

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy? Child loved that it was a rocket as he currently loves rockets. Was a bit basic though once water pours that is it.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future? No-we have the octopi toy and much prefer that as it is more multi functional
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy? Some products yes but not the rocket toy.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be? Something more- when it first turned up, I thought some of it was missing. It is. Very basic toy.
TARNYS · 01/09/2019 19:51

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the
The rocket. Initial impressions were that it was big! And I was excited to use it.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
I liked that the holes were big enough for us to fit other bath toys inside the rocket as astronauts. The fountain was also quite fun. Because it had no lights or sounds, I made up stories and did lots of my own sounds which worked in that my DD was entertained but was quite hard work at the end of a long day!
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Probably not unless the child really really loved space
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
I would to an extent but only if the child loved space
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
A bit more entertainment from it would have been fun, lights, sounds or movement
AngryBudgie · 01/09/2019 20:35
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the Fountain Rocket. First impressions were that it was quite basic but was colourful and a good size
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My son loved the toy and it's simple operation (fill it will water and hold it up) meant that he was able to easily work out what to do. My 3 year old was also playing with it too. As the toy is quite basic I did find that they both grew bored of it quickly.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Not this one, no, but I would possibly try some of the more interactive ones in the future.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
No, I wouldn't recommend this toy but possibly some of the other bath toys in the range.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I would add extra features to the toy so it would do more. I think that would keep their interest in the toy for longer.
SamA3 · 01/09/2019 20:44

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Octopals. My first impressions of the product was how well made and brightly coloured it was.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy? My child loved how easy it was to hold with small hands and absolutely delighted in the brightvattractive colours.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes definitely, it was very robust.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy? Yes without hesitation.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be? I would maybe give it more sound features.
Valkarie · 01/09/2019 21:51
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Cone factory. Initial impression was that it sounded fun but was so difficult to get out of the packaging that I wasn't sure we would ever find out.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
Little one likes waving the cones around, but is a bit scared of the bubbles. 4 year old loves it and thinks it's the best toy ever.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes, I think it is good that it will keep their interest for a long time.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
The handle is really stiff to pull down to make the foam. No way an 18 month old can do it on their own. Mine can only play with it together as the older one has the strength. On first use slipped all over the tiles, but seems to have adhered better now.
Smella123 · 01/09/2019 23:01
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the octopals, I loved that I could get it all out of the packaging without using scissors and Marnie loved playing with it in her playroom as soon as it was out of the box
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
She loved them sticking to the side of the bath and knocking them off, her hands are still a little bit small to fill and squirt the babies but she loved sitting them back in their places on the base and sprinkling everywhere with the mummy octopus.i like that it’s simple enough to use for younger babies but can ‘grow’ in uses as the child grows
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
I definitely would and would love for the range to be extended.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy? I would,
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Make the babies easier to clean somehow and make the numbers on the bottom brighter or stand out more. My little one has problems with her vision and couldn’t see them.
LemonLadybird · 01/09/2019 23:01

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Octopals. Loved the fact it was ok completely recyclable packing, even the ties! Toy looked well made and colourful.

What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My daughter loved the tactile nature of the Octopals, but she wasn't bothered about the numbers aspect. She loved the bright colours and the fact they could be stuck to the side of the bath. She loved the pouring feature of the mum octopus.

I felt the numbers could've stood out more rather than being the same colour. The toys didn't balance very well on the green platform and kept falling off. I was also worried about mould getting inside the squirters.

Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Probably not only due to the fact we've always had issues keeping squirting toys mould free

Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes the toy was well made and I was pleased that all the packaging was recyclable
*
If you could add or change a feature what would it be?The numbers to stand out more on the green platform as they didn't add anything and maybe something to store all the smaller pieces in*

Butterflykiss00 · 01/09/2019 23:11

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Octopals

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
He likes the colours and the shapes
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Definitely, it was simple and easy to use, I liked the am design and it stuck out more to me than other bath toys available
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes, but as previously mentioned I too worry about mould after several uses
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
the squirters should have had some sort of opening to get more air in to fry then to stop mould forming
