-Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Octopals. Looked a nice bright well made toy and DD (along with her much older sisters) were interested in it straight out of the box. Liked the paper/card twist ties rather than plastic making the whole packaging recyclable.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
I liked the floating base that the parts sit on and the rate water came out of the holey cup - a much better 'waterfall' effect than some toys that just dribble water out! DD liked drinking out of the cup Grin and playing with the octopals suckered to the side of the bath. I am not keen on squirty toys as they inevitably go mouldy inside and DD was not interested in the squirter aspect.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes, it has a bit more to it than other similar toys
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Possibly different shapes to the 'shape sorter' element and not bother with the squirters
Rubyduby26 · 30/08/2019 23:30

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We got the octopals to test out. The initial impression was good, they are cute, brightly coloured and got DS's interest! They looked well made and like others have said all packaging was recyclable which is brilliant Smile
What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
We didn't dislike anything with the toy itself. DS loved them, they're just the right size for him to hold and squeeze, lots of different things to do and I imagine will grow with him with the number sorting aspect. It was a bit of a faff trying to empty them at the end of the bath but I just turned it into a game! I am pretty sure they will end up growing black mould though as all our previous squirty toys have.
Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes I would. Out of all the squirty bath toys we have had, these are our favourite.
Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes I would. I think the bath toys are well made, look cute and have multiple uses Smile I think we are going to get the toomies ice cream cone too!
If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
The only thing I would change is having something that allows you to clean out the baby octopi. I'm an certain they will start going mouldy inside and I am not sure if there is a way to prevent it from happening so it would be fantastic if there was a way to clean out the toys!

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the Octopals. First impressions were really good. Both my children were playing with it before it had even made it upstairs to the bathroom. They both loved the bright colours and were choosing which ones were their favourite.
My 3 yo loved this just as much as my 1 yo. They both found it hilarious squirting each other and Mummy. The bathroom was soaked but it was good fun. They also liked sticking the octopuses to the side of the bath and my 1 yo knocking them off. Loved that the green bit floats and they even let me wash their hair with the mummy octopus shower!!

Also loved that all the packaging is recyclable.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

Nothing.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes. However the only thing that puts me off is mould growing inside the little octopuses.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

A way to stop mould growth. I tend to stay away from squeezy bath toys normally because they only last until mould starts to grow. Also some of the octopuses didn’t squirt water out as well as others. It was quite tough and came out as a spray.

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

Rocket fountain. Looked fun to play with, bright colours. Disliked the amount of packaging. Needed scissors to get it out.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

My daughter enjoyed lifting the rocket out of the water to watch the water fountain from the bottom. She played more with it in paddling pool outside than in evening bath.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Not sure. Very similar to other cheaper pouring toys just perhaps in a more inviting format.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Less packaging.

gromberry · 31/08/2019 08:26

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Octopals. Nice looking, colourful, fun

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My DD didn’t dislike anything. I felt concerned that they would go all mouldy and horrible, but I’ve been giving them a swill out with Milton about once a week, so fingers crossed
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Possibly, there are different ways of playing with it
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Can’t think of anything
SleepingIsOverrated · 31/08/2019 08:38

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

The ice cream factory - it looked fab but was a nightmare to get out of the packaging!

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

Both boys loved the imaginative aspect, although my smallest has eaten tons of bubble ice creams Grin

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes, I'll probably buy these as gifts for friend's children at Xmas

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

I'd make the well for the bubbles bigger, I'm refilling it every minute!

EsmeeMerlin · 31/08/2019 08:44
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the foam cone factory, initially we all liked the toy and thought it looked fun and good for children's imagination. The lever however did look flimsy and when you use it, it does look like one good pool will make it snap off.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My 18 month old was really into it initially but he can't pull the lever down himself so he has not been playing with it a lot. My 5 year old however really loves it, and has enjoyed making the foam cones and has played with it every bath time. He does wish, and I agree that there are more accessories so you could make different foam orders so just little pretend sauce bottles and another container of different coloured sprinkles.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes, it has gone down well in my house, however it can be a little flimsy so I would worry the toy would break easily and be a waste of money.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes it was fun and my children enjoyed it. I would recommend buying a lot of bubble bath because my eldest son has really got through it.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
A better lever that is not flimsy and easier to pull for younger children, and more accessories for the older children so they can really use their imagination to extend their play. Also to make it easier to get out of the packaging.
bayliss6 · 31/08/2019 11:42

We tested the Toomies Fountain Rocket. First impressions are that this is a good, sturdy water toy. Durable and good for use by small people. With no where for mould to get in, it should last a long time.
The twins loved holding it under the water then lifting it up to watch the water cascading out of the bottom like ‘lift-off’ flames. Cody especially loved making the rocket fly. They both loved the little starfish character in the window and watching it jiggle around as the water filled and emptied.
I would purchase this item over other bath toys in the future as I feel it’s durable and good value for money. I would also recommend it to friends and family alike.
The only thing I would change, would be to maybe have the starfish character removable (& a little bigger) so that little ones can put it in and take it out of the rocket themselves.

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested Octopals. First impressions were that I was impressed with the packaging - seems to be 100% recyclable and very easy to get the product out with no searching for scissors or wrestling sellotape. My daughter (18 months and the main tester) was very excited to see the toy and keen to play with it even before bathtime. My son (6) commented that it was much bigger than he had expected. I thought it was attractive - colours are bright and varied with pink included which is great to see in a unisex toy. Of course it is a plastic toy and we are trying to reduce plastic generally but as it is for the bath this is inevitable.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
When it came to bath time I showed dd how it worked and filled up the squirters. She was keen to have a go but couldn't fill them up herself. She loved being squirted with the water. I then showed her how the mummy toy could be filled with water and she was very interested in seeing the water come out all the holes. She could easily dunk the cup to recreate this herself. She also enjoyed sticking them to the sides of the bath which was easy for her to do independently. My son then joined her as he was eager to join in and he was able to fill and squirt the squirters. He then squirted his sister in the face, somewhat inevitably. He enjoyed matching up the numbers but they are hard to see so he didn't realise they were there at first. What I liked was the colour variety and the cup in the middle. Like other testers, however, I could foresee the squirters filling with mould which would be a pain. Some of the squirters seemed to come out at an angle or spray slightly which I'm not sure was the intention. It also seemed like there wasn't much variety of activity once we had squirted and sprayed. I'm not sure anyone needs 8 squirters! It's also pretty big and doesn't easily store. The base doesn't really add anything - it floats but the cup and squirters don't stick to it and the numbers were meaningless to dd and hard to see for ds.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
I'm afraid not. I prefer toys which can be easily stored and lend themselves to interacting with the other toys we have.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
I would say they are good quality and very bright and fun, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend this one.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I'd make the mum one a storage container for the babies (with more detail/character on the face), make the babies smaller and do different things - either squirt out of different places or have another function or give them characters, names etc. DS said it needed tentacles like a real octopus as the base doesn't look like it represents these. Within the current design, I would give the numbers colours to match the babies. If the base had a big suction pad so it could be stuck to the side of the bath and the other bits stuck to it, that would be better for storage.
Karanew · 31/08/2019 12:25

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the rocket fountain

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
Loved the cone of water that came from the bottom, used it to wet her hair without tears!
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
I would purchase this but not over others, needed a little more to it I think
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes the range of toys is a great selection and really all look good for bath time
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Add something else to the rocket maybe a squirter or additional part such as a figure to make it more exciting
PenelopeParallelogram · 31/08/2019 13:37
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
The rocket. Product looked quite exciting, and there was a rush to get it out of the packet (by the 4 year old, mainly)
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
The water jet from the bottom
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
No, although it seems durable, it only has one real feature - the water from the bottom
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
I'd definitely look at other toys in the range
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Perhaps some characters to ride in the rocket?
Serenity25 · 31/08/2019 15:26

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the foam cone factory. Thought the look of it was good, bright colours. 2 and 4 year old DD’s couldn’t wait to play with it at bath time!

What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

They both loved pretending to eat ice creams, but 2 year old found the handle difficult to pull.

Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes definitely.

Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes they are really engaging and fun.

If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

To be able to open it up to clean properly.
Make the handle slightly easier to pull.

PlatinumDollFace · 31/08/2019 17:26
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the fountain rocket
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My DD initially loved it and the fact the water came out the bottom but she quickly got bored of it. I have a 7mo DD and she was more impressed by it so seems suited to younger kids.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future? No
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?yes just not this toy in particular
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be? Make it more interactive
Caillou · 31/08/2019 17:35
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

we tested the octopals, I thought it looked nice and colourful but worried about mould inside the squirters on the long term.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

they liked everything, ds liked to be able to hold the squirters, dd 7 and 4 used the island as a platform for their other bath toys

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

I may if it had a feature to clean the squirters.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

yes I would

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

I found the numbers on the island to be pretty useless for 2 reasons, first is that they cannot be seen clearly, and second that I do not use bath for teaching purposes,

if the squirters could be opened (screw lid maybe), then the toy would be perfect as it could be cleaned and mould free

ConfusedLlama · 31/08/2019 18:28

-Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the Toomies rocket. Initial impression was mixed it was quite big which I wasn't expecting but my daughter (23 months) seemed to be excited by the look of it.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

I found it too big for storing in the bathroom and also felt that the size made it hard for a child to fill it with water as the windows, when upright, were above the line of the water. My daughter did like the fountain effect and made lots of rocket wooshing sounds when I filled it and held it up.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Probably not, as I said before I found it difficult to store due to the size and my daughter showed more interest in the toy animals we have.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

I don't think I'd recommend this toy, unfortunately but with a couple of adjustments it could be a great way of washing hair in a fun game.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

I'd make it smaller so that it fills when upright in an average water level for a small toddler.

shutzpa · 31/08/2019 18:35
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the octopals set, initial thoughts were that they were bright and colourful.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My dd enjoyed squirting water all over the bathroom 🤦🏼‍♀️
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Probably not as they have a tendency to get mouldy inside.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes because we had a lot of fun.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
No mould
Tom92 · 31/08/2019 18:47

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy? The fountain rocket. It seemed good at first look, bright colours and a good concept.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy? It was far too simple and the water drained from it far too quickly. It didn't have enough going on and she lost interest pretty fast.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future? Probably not.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy? For

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

The Rocket, it was bright and colourful.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

He was interested initially in what it did, and liked the fountain of water that came out the bottom, but he soon lost interest in it, unfortunately.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Probably not, to be honest

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes and no. Yes, it was good quality and bright colours. No, it wasnt very captivating.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Make it do more?

scubaprincess · 31/08/2019 19:45
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Octopals. I liked the simple packaging and it was very easy to open and to get the toy out. The toy itself looked like quality, not cheap or tacky.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My 13month old loved grabbing and chewing on the octopal. She kept turning them around to look at the faces. She also enjoyed copying my 3year old who was balancing them on the main floating base. My 3 year old also loved sticking them to the side of the bath pretending they were going to bed at the end of bath time. The didn't seem to dislike anything apart from the fact they were frustrated that one of the squirting toys didn't suction to the wall of the bath.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes I would as it felt a quality toy that had multi play uses. It also appealed to two different age children and it felt very educational as well.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes I would.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I wouldn't change anything as everything seemed to do what it was intended to. If you wanted to add to it I would add smaller cup things underneath the mummy octopus head so children could practice stacking.
chilledteacher · 31/08/2019 20:01

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the Octopals. First impressions-colourful, robust and amazing that all the packaging could be recycled.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
He seemed to like the colourful little octopuses and was playing with them before we even got it in the bath. In the bath he liked Mummy octopus giving the baby octopuses and him a shower. He splashed along.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
If the price was right yes.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Currently yes, hopefully it won't get mildew in the little octopuses-which would affect a recommendation.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Maybe include a net storage bag that could attach to the tiles/bath?
Yeknom · 31/08/2019 20:51
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
The rocket - as first I was excited but with further reading I was bit disappointed that it doesn't actually do much
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My two children enjoyed playing with it - my one year old did not like my 4 year old hitting him with t 🙈
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
No, as i don't believe it has longevity and takes up a lot of space on the side of the bath.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
I would recommend toomies (we own the octopals) as the product quality is fab - I just wouldn't overally Recommend this particular toy
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
It needs more things - maybe a space person that dives in and out or stars to collect - just something to maximise play
tweetypi · 31/08/2019 20:53
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the Octopals toy. I liked the simple packaging- it was easy to get into and easy to recycle. The toy was bright and colourful.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

We liked how colourful it was and I liked the number and faces on the Octopals. We liked the big Octopus in the middle because it sprinkled a lot of water.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes, I would purchase this as a gift because I am happy with how it works.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes I was impressed with the quality and variety of the toy.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

It is a bit of a faff to tidy away because you have to collect up lots of Octopals and empty them all of the water. It then balances precariously on the side of the bath where my DC can easily knock it over. It would be helpful if there was a more practical way to store it.

Fizzyboo · 31/08/2019 21:18
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

The ice cream cone factory. Initial impression was great, it looked a lot of fun, but on setting it up we found it did not work! This created huge disappointment in my child. Thankfully MN arranged a replacement which did work.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My child LOVED it, couldn't get her out of the bath. All her bath toys needed to be given an ice cream.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

I would, however I am left a little skeptical that it would work after the initial duffer and reading online reviews.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Maybe. We loved the toy, but concerned about its longevity.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

To make the parts higher quality so it worked and stayed working!

Beckscann · 31/08/2019 21:18

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy? We tested the fountain rocket and on first impressions loved the look with its bright colours and simple design.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy? My daughter initially liked the fountain, but very soon got fed up as that was all the toy did.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future? I probably wouldn’t choose to purchase this toy as it didn’t keep my daughter amused for long.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy? I would recommend roomies bath toys as the one we tested was very durable but I just wouldn’t recommend this particular one.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be? Possibly add shapes or animals to fit into the rocket to extend the play.
