This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users who tested out Sunkissed’s Self-Tan Mousse Dark variant and their new innovative Hydrating Jelly Tan.

Used Sunkissed dark mousse. Loved the smell not fake tan at all. Used the tanning mit with good results. Skin felt moisturised.Tan lasted well a good 4 days no streaks, well pleased and would deffinatly buy.

Natural ingredients, went on smoothly, no transfer to bedding/clothing.

I liked the coconut smell, but found it was a bit sickly-sweet as I put more on.

• How long did your tan last?

About 6 days, going a bit patchy from 4. Hands/face probably 4.

Probably not. See my comments below — it wasn't bad, but not good enough for me to switch from my usual brand. I love the eco-friendliness, and would recommend people try it for that reason, and see whether it suits them better.

• Is there anything you would change about this product?

I didn't find the guide colour was that dark, so struggled a bit to see where it was. Where I'd doubled up it did show slightly streaky when washed off. If I have to leave it in for six to eight hours I'm just going to go to bed, so I don't care if the guide colour looks completely unnatural!

I also didn't think it was particularly dark once developed, but I see you do an ultra-dark as well (I tan mainly for dance competitions, so am used to going very dark!).

Like others, I found that the edge of the mitt was scratchy, although the main bit was lovely and soft.

Nope - the colour is totally fake on me and to be honest it looks like I've been hosed down with strong tea.

It is absorbed quickly - but as it's clear and literally disappears you can not tell if you've applied it evenly.
And the colour doesn't work on this very pale, ex red head at all!
But I think I love the mitt - I'm going to try it with the Dove self tan and see if it helps.

It wasn't hard to apply at all, it went on so smoothly it was the best one I've tried yet to apply.

Around 4 days but this was with it getting lighter after each shower

First thing I noticed about Sunkissed Professional Hydrating Jelly Tan was the smell. Unlike other tanning products, the jelly tan smelt like coconuts and did not have a biscuit smell which is usually associated with self tanning products.

My skin felt amazing using this product and although a little sticky after first applying, the Sunkissed Professional Hydrating Jelly Tan dries very fast. The jelly tan contains Hyaluronic Acid which ensures long lasting skin softness and nourishment.Sunkissed Professional Hydrating Jelly Tan is a gradual tan, which can last up to 7 days. As it is 95% natural, it is perfect for use everyday.I love this product, I applied it in the night with my mitt and woke to a lovely, streak free, golden tan. Smells gorgeous on first application, but soon fades to that biscuit smell unfortunately.

It would be great to get rid of the biscuit smell but I'm guessing that's close to impossible, or way too expensive as nobody seems to have managed it yet!

Yes I think so, I loved the colour and how quickly it dried, only issue was with no guide colour and because it dried so quickly I found it hard to avoid missing bits.

It's vegan friendly, the end colour was lovely. It absorbed well on application and didn't leave any sticky residue on my skin.

It was mild on application but I could smell that fake tan smell after a couple of hours, once it developed.

3 days before I noticed it started to wear off.

4 - I do try my utmost to buy cruelty free products for all the family.

No I loved it. Even the packaging was gorgeous.

Not sure. I've just used it for my legs, the first application was patchy and I had orange knees and ankles. The second application evened it out a little and the next attempt was better but I'm still not sure I can get it to look completely natural. I'll keep trying as I do like the product.

Hmm, initially I like the ease of application but actually it is absorbed so quickly you can't tell if you've put it on evenly. So it's still not the idiot proof product I'm looking for! Big improvement on products I've used previously though.

Relatively streak free! I was scared as I have never used fake tan before (seen too many horrors) but at the time I signed up to test I was the palest I think I have been for years. By the time it arrived we had had the Easter bank holiday so thank fully I had caught a bit of sun as the dark would have been a bit too much of a contrast without it!

• What did you think about the smell, when you applied the tan?

The smell is delicate and really lovely. Made me think I was on holiday!

• How long did your tan last?

3-4 days but I did go swimming in this time, in a hot tub and also shaved my legs.

4 - It's made me pay more attention to this very fact. If you can get really good products that are cruelty free then surely we should all be buying those.

• Would you purchase this product again?

Yes I have surprised myself by saying that I would and I have already recommended it to my friends and family who love a tan.

• Is there anything you would change about this product?

Not at all. The packaging is also really pretty. The mitt was easy to use. I just wish fake tan didn't rub off onto beds and sofas as it makes me paranoid!

It looked very natural and made me feel quite healthy looking rather than the usual pallid skin I have after winter/late nights with my children. It was also super simple to apply and didn't require a huge effort/technique.

I liked the smell - it was pleasant and a good fragrance.

About 6-7 days in total

Tested the dark tan, really pleased with outcome. Lovely smell. Easy to apply. Lasted about three days. Went on really evenly with no smears or streaking. Great product. Will definitely be recommending to family and friends.

I tested the light/medium jelly tan.

• What did you like most about your Sunkissed tan?

Ease of application and how quickly it dried. I've never had a fake tan dry quicker.

• What did you think about the smell, when you applied the tan?

When I applied the tan, I was pleasantly surprised by the smell. It reminded me of past holidays which was nice on a gloomy day. One thing I would add is that the smell reminded me of the dreaded biscuit smell the following day and for the next few days actually.

• How long did your tan last?

The tan lasted around 5/6 days which was really impressive considering I didn't do anything in particular to preserve it. It also faded very naturally so didn't look patchy.

Cruelty free is very important to me and I'll always look for this on packaging. With regards to natural products, I do try where possible but have had previous reactions to some natural skincare so need to be a little more careful.

Yes I would but the price may affect my decision depending on how reasonable it is.

The smell the following day - I was really pleased not to have the giveaway smell when applying but the next day realised it was too good to be true!

• What did you like most about your Sunkissed tan? Its easy to apply, dries in quickly and leaves a gorgeous golden tan within a few hours.

• What did you think about the smell, when you applied the tan? Doesn't have the typical fake tan smell when you first apply but after a while the product will produce a smell but nothing as strong as other tanning products.

I would like the tan to last a bit longer as only lasted about 4 days till it started fading then I topped it up.

I tested the hydrating jelly tan for light/medium skin
I loved how quickly it dried it smelled lovely during application. However a couple of hours later was not a huge fan of the smell.
The first application lasted about 4 days then I noticed my toes looking quite patchy so topped it back up.
I would say cruilty free products rate quite high for me so I would probably be a 4 on a scale out of 5.
I would definitely purchase this product again and recommend it to anyone that would listen.
The only thing I would change is probably the mitt, I found the seam caught when rubbing it in, I also found the mitt really absorbent so I was having to add loads of the product as I felt it was soaking into the applicator.
I have had numerous comments on how healthy and glowing I look since using this when I say it is not natural everyone is really shocked

- What did you think about the smell, when you applied the tan? The smell when applying the jelly was nice, the smell when developing was v strong typical fake tan smell but I never mind that smell as I know the tan is developing!

What did you like most about your Sunkissed tan?
Very easy to apply. I am not very skilled at applying fake tan but even I managed to do a good job with this! It dried quickly and the colour was fantastic. Dark enough but not too dark.

What did you think about the smell?

It smelt lovely. Nothing at all like previous fake tans I have tried. The smell of other fake tans puts me off but this was different. Very pleasant!

How long did your tan last?

It lasted about 5 days before needing to be topped up. It lasted well and people noticed and thought I'd had a professional job done. Very pleased with the results.

I would should the price be reasonable. I would pay slightly more because the results (and smell!) were so good but obviously budget is important.

Nothing. I thought it did an amazing job. The bottle was attractive and the mitt made the whole process easier. Fab product. I am very honored that I was selected to test this and look forward to applying it before I go on holiday so will feel confident in my bikini
