This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users with a child aged 6-24 months, who tested Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais. All selected testers were given vouchers to buy one of each of the following flavours:

My 1 year old really enjoys them and so do I, very satisfying and creamy. He rubbed his tummy and said "mmm" which is always a good sign.

• Would you recommend Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais to a friend or family member who is about to wean their baby? Please explain why or why not.

I wouldn't only because, doctor's recommend trying single ingredient purees at first to see if they have allergies but I would definitely recommend for babies who are happily eating fruit and dairy, it's a great size for an 8 month old, no wastage.

• What did you and your child like or dislike about Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 packs that you tried?

I liked the variety of flavours and smooth texture, my little one pulls a face when he eats something acidic but these were wonderfully gentle on his tummy and the perfect thickness. The packaging is also colourful and advertises the healthiness of the fromage frais. I would like to see slightly larger portions of fromage frais as my little one has quite an appetite.

Yes, they are a great healthy snack for when my little one gets peckish.

• What would encourage you to buy yogurt or fromage frais for your child more often?

A discount in price would entice me to buy more and seeing a larger pack.

Many thanks for letting us test these yoghurts.
We went to two supermarkets and managed to buy all three flavours. Our Asda only had one flavour in stock though.

Quite satisfied! Two pots at a time weren't enough for my 13 month old and I was bracing myself for the tantrum which would follow!

• Would you recommend Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais to a friend or family member who is about to wean their baby? Please explain why or why not.

Definitely would in terms of portion size and I like that there's no added sugar. However, they are pricey.

I liked the different variety of flavours. Nothing to dislike really, apart from the price as mentioned above.

We already buy a lot of yoghurt for our kids as it's a much more healthier 'dessert'.

Overall quite satisfied although felt the pots were rather small or maybe my son just likes to eat a lot!

My little boy Harrison is a massive fan of these yogurts, he keeps going up to the fridge and asking (in toddler language) for more!

Yes, I would be happy to recommend them as they are natural and a nice alternative to purees etc. in weaning

My only complaint really was they were slightly too small for my toddler's appetite

I tend to give him a yogurt or fromage frais per day to help boost his calcium intake so I think this is a healthy amount as it is a sweeter treat

Yes possibly, I would mix it with his breakfast or with fruit puree to give him a dessert

My 2 Daughters really enjoyed these yoghurts and we were able to try out all three packs. I love how they have less sugar and more fruit than most children’s yoghurts.
This helps my worry of their sugar in take whilst knowing they are getting a good source of calcium.
It’s a healthy desert after their tea in the evening.
I would definitely recommend these to others, especially new mums looking for yoghurts to feed their babies.
I will definitely carry on buying these products for my children, instead of the usual ones I buy.

After visiting five separate supermarkets I managed to find only two of the three flavours.

We were satisfied with the flavours we had. My little girl certainly enjoyed them.

I prefer to give plain Greek yogurt so probably wouldn't think to recommend.

I liked the small size and the fact they were not too sweet.

Probably won't buy again.

Already buy plain yoghurt consumed daily by my children.

I liked the mild flavour and felt comfortable giving it my 20m old - normally I give him natural yoghurt with fruit. I’m used to the very sugary French small yoghurts from my childhood which I wouldn’t buy for my child now.
My son loved the small pot size and enjoyed eating it more than his normal bowl of yoghurt.

Only if on special offer! The price was a bit high for me. I might buy as a treat now and again.

Price. I buy it in my weekly shop anyway, but normally the supermarket plain yoghurt.

As above, only if affordable. Yeo Valley is the only “big brand” I have bought for many years when I don’t buy the supermarket own brand, as I trust it to be a healthy quality product.

We we're very satisfied with the fromage frais. My little one and Her big sisters could also liked the 2 they tried.

We would definitely recommend these to friends and family starting their weaning journey as they are great, no junk added and no added sugar which is such a worry the amount some fromage frais have in for young babies.

My child liked the flavours of the fromage frais. I liked the portion size, I could give 1 or 2 depending on how hungry she was. I also had the added piece of mind that there was no added sugar just the natural sugar from fruit.

I would definitely buy them again but probably not too often as they are quite pricey.

I would be more inclined to buy them when on offer or if they were a bit cheaper.

I probably wouldn't buy natural fromage frais now as my little one loves the fruity flavours but I would have loved that option when we had just started wearing.

If you could do a free from dairy range too, there's not much baby free from range, at the moment the baby seems to be not coping with dairy to well, although yeo valley do sit better with her

Yes. Great to mix in with purées or on their own. Also to mix with lumpier food to help it go down.

Probably not, but then it's a personal preference of mine as I am not keen on giving flavoured yoghurts/fromage frais when weaning.

The range of flavours was really well received. Just a bit different from the usual options. I wasn't able to find all three options, despite the store listing, unfortunately.

I would prefer to buy it in a larger tub as I think it would get quite expensive to regularly buy the smaller tubs, especially as my two would happily eat it every day.

• What would encourage you to buy yogurt or fromage frais for your child more often?

A larger size tub or perhaps a bigger multipack. Being on offer in the shops wouldn't hurt either.

• If Little Yeos launched a Natural Fromage Frais in a 6 pack would you consider buying it? How would you use it?

I would give it to my children with their breakfast, as we usually have cereal followed by a fruit bowl. They would be able to use the plain yoghurt as a dip, or alternatively would just eat the plain yoghurt as it's what they've been used to.

Yes definitely. They aren’t too high in sugar like other first yoghurts and again they are the perfect size

My local shops didn’t have the strawberry and raspberry ones so unfortunately I can’t comment on those but the other two flavours went down very well. I like the pear and apple one as I don’t recall ever seeing pear in a kids yoghurt before. I liked that they were sweetened with natural juice and not sugar as even some kids yoghurts are high in sugar.

My DS has a yoghurt every day with either breakfast or lunch and I usually buy a different brand of a bigger yoghurt but I actually think the smaller sizes were better. Always less sugar is a massive advantage.

When DS was weaning I bought yeo valley natural yogurt and gave it to him plain. I also like to give him natural yoghurt and add my own cut fruit so having the smaller 6 packs would be great as I often don’t get through a whole pot of natural yoghurt so yes I would definitely buy them

I was very satisfied. My kids really liked the flavours. They were tested on my 1 year old, 5 year old and 6 year old.
