This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users with a child aged 6-24 months, who tested Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais. All selected testers were given vouchers to buy one of each of the following flavours:

I would highly recommend Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais to my friends and family with children as they are perfect for weaning. The products have no artificial colourings and are a healthy option for any diet.

• What did you and your child like or dislike about Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 packs that you tried?

My daughter loved the taste of the product and I would buy them again for her. There was nothing we disliked.

Satisfied, but could only find one flavour despite visiting three supermarkets. Both of my children enjoyed the yoghurts.

Yes, they were not as sweet and sugary so a more appropriate food than many other brands.

They didn't like them as much as the brand leader but were happy to eat them. I felt they were healthier.

Yes if they were on a half price deal.

- What would encourage you to buy yogurt or fromage frais for your child more often?

Healthy options at a good price. If there was a pouch version which could stay out of the fridge in a changing bag.

Yes, I would prefer this if my children would eat it.

• I was really impressed with these Fromage Frais. Due to the amount of sugar in most kids yogurts I have only ever given my little girl (16 months) natural yogurt with fruit added. But since these are naturally sweetened with fruit juice I was happy to give them to her and she seemed to love them!
• Would you recommend Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais to a friend or family member who is about to wean their baby? Please explain why or why not.
• I would definitely recommend these. My little one had yogurt from quite a young age and these are a good size pot for a little one, and the no added sugar can put mums mind at rest!
• What did you and your child like or dislike about Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 packs that you tried?
• My little one enjoyed all the flavours and they were a good texture - thick enough for her to have a go at feeding herself. I liked the size of the pot since there is no waste.
• Would you buy Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 pack again?
• Yes. They are a little more than I normally pay (since I buy a large tub of natural yogurt and add fruit myself) but for the convenience of the small tub combined with the fact they have lots of fruit and she enjoys them, I would.
• What would encourage you to buy yogurt or fromage frais for your child more often?
• In general it would be less added sugar, and making sure that the pots are recyclable.

• Yes, definitely.

Very satisfied, I thought they were a good size and my kids loved them.

Yes definitely, although I would personally start with plain natural yoghurt and then move into these.

Loved the flavours, not too sweet and no nasties as advertised. Portion size was just right and pots were a good shape and easy to eat out of (and scrape clean!)

Yes if the price was right, but I thought the price per yoghurt was too high.

• What did you and your child like or dislike about Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 packs that you tried?

I liked the fact that they are less sweet than alternatives. My daughter could eat a whole one and probably a second, the size was good for a young toddler. I liked the packaging with the mobile on the back, but this isn't made clear on the outside, so with every pack I managed to rip it without realising. This could be made clearer from the outside. I liked all of the flavours except apricot. Even DD didn't seem overly keen on this flavour but she still ate it. I wanted the pear and apple to be more distinctive but they all kind've taste similar.

• Would you buy Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 pack again?

Only if they were on offer. I would usually prefer to buy a pot of greek yoghurt and make my own dessert from that.

• What would encourage you to buy yogurt or fromage frais for your child more often?

Cheaper.

• Would you consider buying Little Yeos Natural Fromage Frais in a 6 pack for your child?

No I would always buy greek yoghurt in a big tub which is much better value for money.

1. My daughter is 16months, and really enjoyed every single flavour, which I was genuinely quite surprised at, as she hasn't really shown great interest in other brands I've tried before. (Also, my 4yr old tried them and said he really liked them, which was another suprise as he usually prefers sugary rubbish).

1. I would definitely recommend the Yeo pots for weaning. I felt good about giving my child a snack/dessert that I knew was healthy that she clearly really enjoyed eating.

1. For me, I thought the designs on the packaging adorable, and having a great mix of flavours that were a refreshing change from the standard flavours of child products.

The pot shape being rounded was brilliant for my child to feed herself. The only change I could make, would be that I thought the lids peeled off too easily, as when separating the pots, I opened 2 slightly accidentally a couple times. But I suppose the pots opening easily is better for children who are trying to become more independent and open them by themselves!

1. I will definitely be buying these again, as I was very impressed on the flavour and how natural they tasted (I may have licked a few lids). Also, I want to encourage my children to enjoy snacks that have health benefits, without thinking they are missing out on treats.

1. The fact that my children genuinely enjoyed these Yeo pots, is enough to make me start buying these specific yogurts, but I will still be avoiding the other brands I've bought in the past, because they taste so fake and sugary compared to these.

1. Yes I would buy the six pack again, and the packs I got at Asda were on offer 2 for £2 which I thought was great value for them.

We both were very satisfied. We usually buy the Aldi’s own range so I was interested in what you got for almost double the price.

• Would you recommend Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais to a friend or family member who is about to wean their baby? Please explain why or why not.

I think they are a good size for a weaning baby. It’s a good way to include dairy into the diet. They are also a good thick texture which makes self feeding easier. However I would say that the cheaper ones are just as good if they are unable to afford the Yeo valley ones.

• What did you and your child like or dislike about Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 packs that you tried?

I loved the packaging as it has colouring in on the inside which was fun. I also liked the size of the pot and the fact you could see the product on the inside. I also liked the design of the lid it has a large pull back corner which meant it was very easy to get into for both kids and adults. The flavours are very nice and not the usual ones that you get in most fromage frais multipacks. I had a taste and they taste more fruity than the ones I usually buy, you can tell they have been made using more fruit based sugars than not.

• Would you buy Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 pack again?

If they happen to be on offer than definitely or if they introduced a larger pack as my kids go through yogurt like water.

• What would encourage you to buy yogurt or fromage frais for your child more often?

I already buy a large pack of fromage frais for my children every week with the shopping.

• Would you consider buying Little Yeos Natural Fromage Frais in a 6 pack for your child?

I would definitely give them a go, I think natural fromage frais I would be giving to them with breakfast more so than the fruity ones.

We were extremely satisfied with the product, lots of yummy noises from baby from start to finish!

We would definitely recommend as they use no sugar at all, unlike similar sized pots from other brands.

We enjoyed the really creamy texture and fruity flavour as opposed to just plain sweetness.

We would be interested in even more varied flavours and also a plain yogurt version would be nice.

She enjoyed both flavours and ate both really well. I liked the no added sugar... great for a healthier treat

Yes I would, I thought the flavours were more natural tasting and no added sugars too.

• What would encourage you to buy yogurt or fromage frais for your child more often? Yogurts with our whole pieces of fruit in are most prefered!
• Would you consider buying Little Yeos Natural Fromage Frais in a 6 pack for your child? Yes I will buy these. We get yogurts about once a fortnight and will buy these in future.

Overall how satisfied were you and your child with little yeos fruity fromage frais?

My 8 month old loved them. I usually give him natural yoghurt mixed with fruit. This would be a nice change to use for some variety. I like the fact it comes in a few different flavours and uses real fruit puree.

Would you recommend the product to someone about to wean thier baby?

Definitely. It's natural and with real fruit puree. It wouldn't harm to try.

What did you and your child like or dislike about little yeos fromage frais 6 pack?

My baby loved them definitely no complaints there. From a parents point of view. Natural yoghurt with fruit is probably healthier and cheaper (if using frozen berries). But this is a handy product to have every now and again. It is in no way bad for you and taste nice, is natural and the pots are handy if going out.

Would you buy little yeos fruity 6 pack again?

Yes I would. Not every week but now and again for something different.

What would encourage you to buy yoghurt or fromage frais more often?

I buy yoghurt every week. Me and my my baby love it and a great source of calcium. We buy natural and you can add what you like.

Most definitely.

Very satisfied, with everything from the size to the flavour. My nearly two year old loved them. I even tried and was happy. I loved the picture on the top of each one and it encouraged her to pick an animal

Yes they are a perfect size for weaning and taste natural not too sweet either

She was unsure about the rasberry flavour at first but I think because it tasted more like rasberries and not cheap

No as I personaly feel sugar should be avoided to start to develop savoury tastes but from 1 year on yes.

No Dislikes, my child was visiably happy when one is opened.

Very satisfied. They were a good size for my 8 month old and she enjoyed eating them.

Yes I would recommend them as they were enjoyed by my baby, tasted good and lower in sugar than other brands.

I liked that they use grape juice rather than sugar to sweeten and that they were a fairly thick consistency so easy to feed. My baby enjoyed the taste.

I already buy yoghurt regularly and give them most days.

Probably not as I prefer fruity flavours.

I was very satisfied as a mum by the natural unsweetened taste of the yoghurt I was giving my son, He also loved it!!!
I would definitely recommend little Yeos fromage frais for mother and child as I very much enjoyed the taste too
As I said previously the untouched taste was definitely noticed by my fiancé and I!
I have already stocked up on the yoghurts as my little one has already finished the samples with the help of his dad... bulk offers or promotional offers would definitely make me buy them on every shopping trip.
I don't know how my son would fair from a natural flavoured yoghurt but we'd give it a go trying him on it. I would possibly dip blueberries or strawberries in the natural flavour then freeze them, help with teething as well as being healthy.

Yes I would, I would recommend based on my daughters enjoyment of the product.

I liked the portion size, seemed perfect for little tums, she liked the taste I think, although they didn’t last long.

Liked the strawberry and raspberry we tried though as we live in rural Scotland no other choice of flavours. Think my son found them bitter. I thought they were well priced and wee pots handy. My son is almost 2 so think pot maybe a bit wee for him.

We were very happy, they were the perfect potion size, the dates were also very good on them.

Yes, the flavours are good. They are easy to eat. Potion sizes are good for new to weaning.

I think she loved the flavours and the textures are easy for them to take because she's still new to weaning.

Yes, I was happy with product.

Longer dates, she has to have one every day to get through packs before dates run out. That's why pouches are easier.

Yes, could be mixed with fresh fruit instead. Or even for dipping.

* I really liked them. I’ve been looking for a sugar free fruit fromage frais for a while. They are not quite as sweet as the other sugar free brand i’ve found, and although they are yummy they could do with a bit more fruit I think.

**Definately. A great little pot, tasty and sugar free. Perfect for weaning.

**We loved the Raspberry and Apricot, but none of the family liked the strawberry particularly. I would have preferred them a bit more fruity. Also, I searched 4 supermarkets for the mixed flavour packet and couldn’t find it anywhere (so only tried the apricot and raspberry and strawberry and raspberry packets), so I wish they were more readily available.

*Not the strawberry, but definitely would buy other flavours.

• What would encourage you to buy yogurt or fromage frais for your child more often?

*I tend to buy what’s on offer, however until my baby is older we will continue to get sugar free fromage frais, so it’s only between little Yeos and one other brand currently.

1 we loved them,great size fitted in lunch box or ok for snacks lots of flavours to choose from.yes would recommend to friend who is about to start weaning their baby,,easy to eat soft gentle flavours not too strong 5 liked choice of flavours plenty to choose from and nice size pot easy to hold not to over powering,yes would buy again , new flavours would encourage me to buy again, yes would buy them again we loved them P.S DID ANYONE ELSE STRUGGLE TO BUY THE POTS IN THEIR LOCAL STORES,DID NOT ALL HAVE THE FLAVOURS EVAN IN THE ORDER ON THE LIST WE WERE GIVEN, ONE STORE HAD NEW FLAVOURS ,NOT ON OUR VOUCHERS , MANAGED IN THE END TO BUY ALL 3 FLAVOURS BIT OF EFFORT NEEDED

Yes definitely, my son usually has petit filoux, but they have too much sugar so this is a perfect alternative

I wish there was a family pack (18) like petit filoux my son loved the size and taste

I would as he loves them and they are healthier than petit filoux, but £1.65 per pack is a little bit too much.

Very satisfied, especially with the apple/pear and strawberry/peach flavour

Yes I would. Personally because I do baby led weaning I prefer baby to get used to solid foods first, but my son is nearly 9 months now and competent with those so he loved it. Would be fine from day 1 of weaning if you do purées.

• What did you and your child like or dislike about Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 packs that you tried?

I liked that they were the right size to have as a between meals snack to ring the changes from rice cakes or fruit. They were also nice to give as a dessert if dinner didn’t quite fill him up.

• Would you buy Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 pack again?

Yes - if they were a comparable price to the other children’s Fromage Frais.

Hmm nothing stopping me. I’d be more likely to buy if it was on promotion I think.

Yes I would probably serve it with chopped fruit. Someone cleverer than me may think of a savoury use for it!

Very satisfied, my toddler loved it (so did DP )

Yes, its less sugary than our usual brand which I think is a good thing, and dd really enjoyed them

- What did you and your child like or dislike about Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 packs that you tried?
Think DD just enjoyed the taste and texture, she can be very fussy currently, going thro a phase liking thugs one minute and spitting them out the next (quite literally).
I liked that the sugar content is low and the yoghurts appear to be sweetened by the fruit purée. I really worry about the amount of sugar she has.

Definitely will be adding this to our monthly shop.

- What would encourage you to buy yogurt or fromage frais for your child more often?
Reasonable price I think as well as it being healthy, I wouldn’t have bought this on a budget as petit filous packs are larger for a similar price.

- If Little Yeos launched a Natural Fromage Frais in a 6 pack would you consider buying it? How would you use it?
I’d definitely give it a go. If dd showed signs of enjoying it I’d add it as a staple monthly shop item.

Also to add, we couldn’t find more than one single flavoured pack in over three shops we visited, we then only found the single flavour pack in one store for only one flavour so bought that. I will be getting the multi flavoured packs next time as dd really enjoyed it. But for the sake of testing I didn’t want to end up with a load of yoghurts she wouldn’t eat.

Overall how satisfied were you and your child with Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais?

I really liked them and liked that they were sweetened with fruit juice. My 21 month old won't eat them though! He happily eats natural/Greek yoghurt but wouldn't try these.

• Would you recommend Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais to a friend or family member who is about to wean their baby? Please explain why or why not.

I would for an older baby or toddler but not for just weaning. I think it is better to start with less sweet foods.

• What did you and your child like or dislike about Little Yeos Fruity Fromage Frais 6 packs that you tried?

I thought they tasted nice, not overly sweet. My son wouldn't even try one.
I'd rather buy a large pot and portion myself to save on packaging.

Probably not.

• What would encourage you to buy yogurt or fromage frais for your child more often?

Finding a brand my son actually likes! He will happily eat natural yoghurt with fruit though so we don't really need another option since he has chosen a healthier one for himself.

• If Little Yeos launched a Natural Fromage Frais in a 6 pack would you consider buying it? How would you use it?

Yes, we'd try it. I was hoping the smaller pots would be good for packed lunches out and about.
