This thread is for the 280 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Nappies with their DCs. If you're wondering where to get the best bargains for baby products, Mumsnetters' have picked out their favourite buys from the Lupilu range here

The following items were tested:
Size 1 Newborn Nappies 24 pack £1.09
Size 2 Newborn Mini Nappies 44 pack £2.19
Size 3 Midi (4-9kg) 56 pack £3.49
Size 4 Maxi (7-18kg) 50 pack £3.49
Size 4+ Maxi Plus Nappies (9-20kg) 44 pack £3.49
Size 5+ Junior Plus Nappies (13-27kg) 36 pack £3.09
Size 6+ Extra Large Plus Nappies (16+kg) 26 pack £3.29

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the product:
"Lidl knows the most important things when choosing a nappy are dryness, protection and comfort. That's why we ensure ultimate dryness and leakage protection, and last year Mumsnetters asked for a wetness indicator on size 1 Newborn Nappies, so we added one!”

“There is no need to pay a premium price for a premium nappy, our prices are low but our quality is high. Our nappies are dermatologically tested, latex free, skin-friendly and independently tested. Protecting the environment is also important, therefore the padding used is from sustainably managed forests. The slim design means less materials, less packaging and less energy, helping to minimise our carbon footprint.”

Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?
  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?

All testers who leave their feedback on site and complete the short survey we sent to you will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher!

Thanks and good luck

My son is 4 months old - we tested size 2.

They were decent quality! We had no leakages whilst he wore these and they fit well. My eldest son liked the cute design!

I would recommend to a friend

I would buy again, unfortunately I live nearer Aldi than Lidl but would certainly buy them if I wear near a Lidl.

  1. My baby is now 7 weeks and we used size 1 nappies.
  2. The Lidl Lupliu Nappies fit great on my newborn, I liked the design and experienced no leaks or mishaps when she wore them.
  3. I would 100% reccommend these nappies to friends.
  4. We would buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future because they are so well priced, they fit great which prevented spillages! They feel like great quality and were nice designs so you can't go wrong in my eyes!

  3. I would certainly recommend them to other parent friends and family.
  4. yes I certainly would purchase these and stock up every time I manange to get to a Lidl, great value for money and good quality Smile

Did anyone test the Pull up nappies? We have used the Lidl pull ups for 3 months now and they were fantastic! Unfortunately the new design of pull ups is not as good as the previous ones. My baby has worn them to bed for 3 nights now and each of those 3 nights he's woken up soaking wet imthe next morning. Really disappointed as the previous design gave him a nice dry night

carolineandbaby · 29/03/2018 07:47

I’m still waiting for my nappies to arrive!! Sad

NerrSnerr · 29/03/2018 09:08

@carolineandbaby this is an old feedback thread, there'll be a new feedback thread for the newer Lidl nappy product test. I had an email saying to expect them by the end of this week.

carolineandbaby · 29/03/2018 18:55

Oh thank goodness!

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? 2 months old - size 2

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Very easy to use, gave a secure fit, never had any leaks and the blue line as always was very handy. Nappies felt very soft and seemed to be very good at drawing away wetness and keeping my DS dry.

  1. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation? Definitely

  2. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future?

Yes, very good value nappies and do the job very well.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

7-9weeks, size 2.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I wasn't impressed by the initial look or feel of the nappies, they also appeared smaller then his current nappies of a well known brand.

Once on they seemed to fit comfortably however they were definitely shorter then other nappies I have used of the same size.

  1. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?

No. Unfortunately they had a funny odour when they were full which was off putting. We suffered a a couple of explosions which I think was the result of them not being true to size.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?

No I wasn't impressed. They weren't true to size, didn't feel nice and gave off a smell. I did appreciate the wetness indicaitor and can see the benefit of the intent of the cord.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My twins are 14 months and we used size 4

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I liked them. They are softer than many other supermarket nappies

  1. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?

Yes depending on the price as they were good, but not as good a fit on my babies as some other brands

billybear · 15/04/2018 12:55

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
    13 months and size 4

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I liked that they were nice and soft plus they didn't leak, even overnight.

  1. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes
4) Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?

I would buy them but I prefer the pants style nappies as my ds isn't a fan of staying still for nappy changes

seekingthejoy · 18/04/2018 22:51
  1. 2y3mo old, though small for age, we used the size 5+. These fit fine, did up snugly with the tabs pulled tight, but plenty of room to use these for quite a while more.
  2. I was really impressed. I have used Lidl nappies before and didn't like them as they felt quite bulky which made it hard to tell if they were wet or not - often I'd feel the bulk, assume they were wet, go to change the nappy only to find it was dry. These were very thin and soft feeling, very similar to a well known branded competitor! Also nice that taking a couple out with me in my bag they didn't take up much room.
  3. I would definitely recommend these nappies to a friend. We have had no leaks since using them, despite some heavy overnight wetting and some fairly wet poos!!
  4. I definitely will. I shop at Lidl semi regularly but after trying the tojours nappies before I tended to go for other supermarket own brand nappies if I wanted to save money, or Pampers which I preferred. But these nappies are much more similar to the premium nappies and presumably cheaper, I'll definitely be going for these as my go to nappy in future.

  1. 2yrs 4 months, size 5
  2. they were great, a great fit- the elastic waist have a great fit. They were very soft and my son liked them.
  3. definitely, already have!
  4. yes, but only if going past a lidle, as there isn't one close to us. They are a great price and a good fit.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? 3 years old
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? I liked the simple design (eg no arguing about having princess or elephant nappy as no pictures). Don't need the sticky tab on larger nappies and don't really need the colour strip to show it is wet. I like the elastic waist.
  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes
  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why? Yes because they are great value and we're excellent- no leakages.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
My son is 2 and I tested Size 4 nappies and they fit perfectly.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
They were very slim, which was impressive!
They did perfect job without any leak even throughout the whole night, which was very surprising for me and I didn't expect that!

  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?
They are amazing value for money and I would definitely recommend them!

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?
I would not hesitate to buy them again in the future as there was nothing that I didn't like about them.
For the value alone they deserved to be praised!

NerrSnerr · 21/04/2018 14:21

@needyourlovingtouch they haven’t emailed the survey out yet, this is the feedback thread from January, not the most recent product test.

Marlenaff7 · 21/04/2018 22:15
