This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who have been testing brand new range of cold-pressed baby food, My First Savsé.

Here’s what Guka, the founder of Savsé has to say: “When we looked at manufactured baby food, we realised babies weren’t getting the nutrients they deserved. Refusing to feed my own child pasteurised product, I wanted to push boundaries and create the freshest baby food possible. After all, real food isn’t just for adults.

This is why we created My First Savsé – Europe’s first cold-pressed, HPP baby food that’s as good as homemade. Unlike heat pasteurised baby food – which experiences a shocking 40% reduction in nutritional value – with My First Savsé the nutritional value of our 100% Organic, Grade A fruit and veg is never* compromised.

*Source: Fruselva Laboratories, July 2017 (tests carried out vs. heat pasteurised competitor x)”

Also from My First Savsé: “By cold-pressing our fruit and veg we don’t strip the goodness, replacing heat pasteurisation in favour of non-thermal High Pressure Processing (HPP) to ensure all vital nutrients are locked into each pouch, removing any nasties without compromising on taste or quality.

A busy parent will have to make a million compromises on a daily basis, but quality nutrition for their baby should never be one of them. However, with 1 in 4 parents unable to prepare homemade baby food due to work pressures, many have been forced to rely on heat pasteurised options bought in-store, with a sell by date often older than the babies themselves! But compromise no more. Our brand new cold-pressed baby food range, My First Savsé, has solved the problem - because babies deserve real food too.

Unlike heat pasteurised baby food, you won’t find My First Savsé in the baby aisle - oh no. You’ll find it in the chiller, alongside all the other fresh products!”

Testers, once the products are finished, please answer the below questions as well as leaving any other feedback you have:

1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
3. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
4. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
5. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

We’d also love to see some photos of your little one testing My First Savsé cold-pressed baby food, so please share on the thread if you can.

If you’d like to share your experience on social media, please do using the hashtag #myfirstsavse

All testers who complete the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Unfortunately I didn't receive mine until yesterday and were warm/room temp when opened.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I didn't know that there was no chilled baby food, but it will not change the way I shop for my little one.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
He liked the Coconut, cacao, apple &banana.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
maybe separate the vegetables from fruits, or at least when mixed to be at least half fruit and half veg.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
Actually that is a negative aspect from my point of view. I wouldn't buy it because I don't want to worry that I have to keep it chilled.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
I wouldn't recommend them unless the friend would say that they want to buy fresh food for their child, but usually my friends and family members make themselves the food for their child.
Keepingupwiththejonesys · 17/08/2017 14:30

I've received mine today so will be able to put my feedback on in 7 days time.

Fizzyboo · 17/08/2017 16:59
  1. No, I didn't know. Pretty shocking really.
  2. I'm not sure she had a favourite one. She eats a pouch very occasionally and only prunes at that, so I was quite amazed she actually ate some.
  3. It certainly ranks higher in my mind than other pouches
  4. Yes I would as I'd rather more nutrients were preserved.
  5. I would if they were looking at pouches.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

No, but this won't change the way I shop. Why would it? I have a baby not a cat 😐

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

Unfortunately he didn't really like any of them, we managed a bit more of the coconut, cacao one than the others.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

Less apple in them. Apple is the main ingredient in all of them and it just seems like too much!

Maybe offering some more veggie based ones (minus any apple) would be a good idea.

I wouldn't say they compare well to other brands. I much prefer the Ella's kitchen single fruit or veg pouches which are smaller and less wasteful when babies are first weaning. Not keen on the idea of keeping them in the fridge either.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I don't see this makes a difference as I don't fully understand what it means but I wouldn't purchase this product having tried it with DS.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

No, too apple based, weird sized pouch. Very strange combos that my DS didn't like.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I hadn't ever seen chilled baby food, so I think I did know that. I am likely to look for My First Savse in the chillers of the supermarkets that stock it if I go in one in future. I won't change my main supermarket though. I usually go to Tesco or Asda, who I don't believe stock it, so I won't often have a chance to buy it

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

He liked them all, but went mad for the cocoa one and the blueberries one.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

They are all a bit similar, with the main ingredient of most being apple. I'd prefer some truly savoury ones as I don't want him to think that all food is sweet. I think My First Savse has a USP compared to all the other brands, in that it is not pasteurised, and for that reason I would be keen to buy again to have convenient baby food for on-the-go that is more nutritious than other brands.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

Yes,definitely. As stated above, because it seems logical that there are more nutrients retained in cold pressed food than heat pasteurised.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Yes. My little boy loved them so I'd be happy to recommend them on the basis that hopefully their babies would too.

DBhatt14 · 17/08/2017 21:35

Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

No I wasn't aware there was chilled pet food availiable and not baby food but no this will not change the way I shop.

2.Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
The coconut flavour sorry cannot remember full list of ingredients.

3.How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

I found them to runny for my child who is 10 months. It's the first time using chilled pouches which are harder to use when I'm around and about. The ingredients were quiet different to what I've seen availiable at the moment I actually thought it was too may fruit and vegetables in one go but my baby girl liked them. I had to give them straight from the pouch as it was too runny for a spoon.

4.Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I did like them but the fact that they have to be kept chilled thetevore would need space in the fridge and cannot carry around puts me off. I also found it too runny for my child. It would really depend on the price also I would be unlikely to pay more than £1.20 for a pouch.

5.Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Maybe it depends what they are looking for. I wouldn't recommend it for meals more as snacks and desserts as I didn't think they were filling enough.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
No I didn't know that but I don't think it will change the way I shop.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
My little one enjoyed the coconut and cacao pouch.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
Most of the recipes main ingredient was apple so I felt that although there were other ingredients added there actually wasn't much variation in flavour.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
At £1.70 I feel it is overpriced. I'd expect to be able to buy something similar to a Little Dish fresh meal for that price.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why
I do t think I would as my baby has had an upset stomach and has vomited whilst trialling them, he also disliked some flavours such as the cucumber and kale.
foxfox · 17/08/2017 22:48
  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

No, I didn't know this. But then I have no pets. It won't change the way I shop at all.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

Apple. To be honest, she wouldn't eat more than a couple of spoons of the other flavours. I tried them too, and found them 'interesting'. She's not a fussy baby and will eat anything usually.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

They recipes are all overwhelmingly sweet. Even the more savoury sounding pouches, were just full of apples. They were really quite unpleasant. Having read some of the other respondents feedback, regarding the out of date pouches sent, and the stomach problems, I'm pleased my baby wouldn't eat much of any of them. I'm cross with myself for not checking the dates on my delivery. I trusted that what I was sent was fresh. Foolish. Honestly, I'd say these products compared very unfavourably with other offerings in the supermarket. The taste, cost, the need to be kept chilled... the list is sadly quite long.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I couldn't care less that it isn't heat pasteurised. These kinds of pouches are, for me, an out and about or in a pinch meal. My baby doesn't eat them for all meals day in day out. The odd dinner where some of the nutrients have been blasted away by a bit of heat doesn't worry me. I wouldn't purchase this product, no. It's far too expensive, it's too inconvenient in the need to be chilled, (isn't the point of these ready made pouches that they're convenient?) and the flavours are off putting, bordering on vile.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

No. Reasons as above. I would recommend any other product in the baby aisle before this one.

PsychoPumpkin · 18/08/2017 08:45
  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I don't have any pets so I was unaware that chilled pet food was available. I was aware that chillies toddler meals were available but that chilled baby food was not. After completing the product test I would say my shopping habits won't change because the pouches are expensive & impractical and tastes almost identical to some other baby food pouches on the market.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

The only one my child really loved was the one that contained cacao. It was very runny so I mixed it with a little ready brek to thicken it and she loved it.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

There was a definite texture issue with some pouches, very runny mixtures that I had to thicken. They tasted very fresh but the majority were very sweet & id like to see the savoury pouches actually be savoury in taste. Apart from the chilled factor and the extortionate prices, the taste was similar to most other ready puréed baby foods you can buy.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

Not really, we find pouches useful for popping in the changing bag as a convenience food. Having to keep them chilled is not convenient in my opinion.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Sorry, no, they weren't different enough to justify the difference in price from other brands. Seems a little faddy.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one? I had never realised this before! Definitely will change my way of shopping.
  2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range? Her fave was the apple flavour, she really enjoyed it and wanted more even after we finished the pouch!
  3. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets? The fact that they are chilled means they are very refreshing for little ones after their meal or for a mid day snack.
  4. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? Definitely, due to its freshness.
  5. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? Yes, my little one enjoyed the flavours and there was no need to coax her to eat, she gobbled them down. The fact that they are cold is just so refreshing for them.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one? I did not know there was chilled pet food. It will not change the way I shop for my little one.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range? He enjoyed them all! Not just saying that, he always does a little taste test before accepting food from a spoon and he ate every single one I gave him.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets? I think their recipes are great, lots of foods/ingredients in there that I wouldnt use or have to put in my childs food. When buying baby food I prefer to buy recipes that I wouldn't make myself and that have things in them that we haven't eaten or don't eat regularly so I definity found that with the Savse pouches. I think this brand is very different to any other baby food brands out there for the fact that it is chilled and the recipes they have.
  2. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? I would because if it is the healthiest/best prepared food I could buy for my child, I would buy this.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? I would recommend. I would say that it is good for your child, it has lots of goodness in it and some ingredients and flavours that would be great for babies to try.
PsychoPumpkin · 18/08/2017 12:20

I would add, my baby usually eats anything & everything so I was surprised that she rejected all but two of these packets. I tried them, they were fine, but something about them she didn't like.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I don't have pets so not interested in pet food!
There is hummus, cheeses, meats, yoghurts, rice and ready meals for tots in fridges in supermarkets.
Won't change way I shop.
Baby eats with us or pouch/jar if our food is not appropriate.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
Blueberry, plum, prune - I had to mix it with yoghurt.

All seemed to watery for a 7m and he seemed to shudder at tartness of the pouches he does this with other apple pouches.
I prefer to give more savoury food.

I liked the beetroot one.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

as above but also a lot more costly

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

No how it's preserved does not worry me. Luckily I always check dates on products.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

No for reasons above and think too sweet, watery and expensive.

Trial was not well organised my food ended up in post office luckily I collected same day often I leave for days, I had no idea food was coming. No information in pack.
These questions also seem very strange!

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

Yes I was aware of this. However, I'm unsure if this will change the way that I shop, particularly as my little one is moving on to eating normal food now anyway.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

She really liked the beetroot flavoured one as well as the one with Cacao in it.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

Add a different variety of flavours and make some purely savoury ones as well. It is a decent offering as there are many different flavour combinations that haven't been tried before and it introduces them to flavours that they perhaps wouldn't normally try such as kale and beetroot.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

For £1.70 per pouch I wouldn't do, it is pretty expensive and it'd be cheaper to make myself. However, if they were on a deal I definitely would as they are well worth it for not being heat pasteurised.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

I would do as I do think they have a higher nutritional quality than other baby food products. However, I would point out the price as being something that they'd have to think about before purchasing.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

Chilled baby food just hadn't occurred to me to be honest. Not having a pet, I had not given chilled pet food any thought. No I don't think it will change the way I shop.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

My daughter very much enjoyed the coconut and Cacau one.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

Less fruit centered and more vegetable flavours would be better - current advice for weaning is to offer savoury tastes and vegetables first. I thought these were very sweet and very sugary (albeit natural sugar) for such young babies. I only gave half a pouch for this reason and something else savoury in addition either before or after.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

No I wouldn't - I think they seem expensive and would rather choose a cheaper brand pouch or make something myself. The heat pasteurisation isn't really an issue for me.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

No, I appreciate it was a supply chain error but sending out of date baby food out to a consumer testing group was a stupid mistake and doesn't fill me with much confidence.
I also prefer to give more savoury tastes as mentioned above.
I was also disappointed that once opened it only lasted for 12 hours - as I was giving half a pouch at a time (due to high sugar content) I was then having to chuck it as couldn't use it at dinner, or even lunch, the next day. With something like Ella's they last 24 hours after opening so there's much less waste.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one

I wasn't aware that they did chilled pet food. I would prefer more options of chilled baby food like this one.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

Loved the cucumber and kiwi flavour Minnie thought it was really tasty and ate it all really quickly.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
I would like to see more savoury options available but I do think the range is great and much better than what is already on offer from other brands
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
Yes I think this makes it a better choice for my child. I would definitely purchase as I feel it is a better choice
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
I have already recommended this product as it has a great range of flavours the pouches are a great size and my daughter liked the majority of them.

1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I didn't know we sold chilled pet food, give me strength.
No, it won't change the way I shop, although hell would freeze over before I bought chilled pet food.

2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

Tough call between the cacao flavour and the blueberry, prune etc mix, but DC wailed when the blueberry one had finished.

3. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
I liked the mix of flavours. There's no meat, so it would be good to have the lentil one and pulses.
I think it compares well, I disliked buying jars with a shelflife of months. It seemed wrong.

4. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
The cold pressed process is new to me and I tend to be sceptical of marketing, but my child loved these. If I was going out, and DC was teething, or I thought food was going to be a challenge I would buy them.
Otherwise I tend to use solids; I was impressed how much he loved them though.
5. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
They aren't cheap, but they are a niche and they have a role, so yes, I would

DC didn't have any problems with his gut after eating them but I note other babies did. Might be as DC is a little older and is a fruit junkie.

Given the limited shelf life once open it s worth considering smaller packs for when on the go. If I had a smaller baby who wouldn't finish a packet it would put me off buying/ taking one of these out with me.

Thanks for including us in the product test.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I didn't know about chilled pet food, or that there was no chilled baby food. It won't change the way I shop as I prepare most of his food from scratch and use pouches for convenience when out, and having to keep them chilled isn't convenient.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

He enjoyed them all, but the cucumber, kiwi kale and spinach went down particularly well. He did have wind and stomach cramps after the beetroot pouch.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

They could improve the recipes by making the savoury recipes truly savoury and not filling them with apple and banana.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

No, because of the cost.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

No, as it is expensive and not convenient.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

We don't have pets so didn't know. We have seen toddler ready meals in the fridge area though no purées. I'd probably have a browse if going by the section.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

My little one loved them all.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

I like the banana that's added as it makes it feel more substantial. A lot of watery type fruits sometimes give a funny tummy so I think it's important for them to have something more.
It's very similar to other pouches to be honest, more expensive though.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I would if it was the right price. I think the maximum I would pay would be £1 for it which already is quite high considering you can buy babyfruit pots at 4 for £1.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? I would definitely mention it as a choice.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I had seen chilled toddler meals but not food for young babies. I will keep an eye out in the chilled aisle for deals. I spotted it for the first time in Morrisons last week!

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

She enjoyed them all but probably the one with prunes went down best.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

I liked the healthy and unusual ingredients such as kale, beetroot etc. They seemed fresher somehow as they were cold!

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

Yes at the right price.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Yes as she enjoyed them all straight from the fridge whilst other food needs warming to be palatable to her.

  1. I've never seen chilled baby food before but have seen chilled toddler meals. I think the concept of it being fresh is nice, but having to keep it chilled is rather inconvenient.
  1. I honestly couldn't tell you which was his favourite. He wolfed the lot of them down in record speed and seemed to enjoy them all. The portions were a little small for an older baby so he seemed to need two at a time along with some finger food to satisfy him. Or maybe they were just that tasty!
  1. The baby loved them all but from my perspective, they're all rather sweet and smooth which is great for a newly weaning baby but for an older child (mine is 10 months) I would expect to see some more savoury flavours and different, lumpier textures.
  1. I'm not sure I would purchase these in a supermarket as they're a bit price prohibitive, especially as the portions are small. The fact they are fresh is great but given the need to keep them chilled, they're not easy to take out and about with you like other pouches and if I'm at home anyway, it's easy enough to make your own fresh food! I think these would be far better marketed within nice coffee shops and cafes. I'd be far more likely to pay for something like this as an occasional treat whilst out and about than as part of my regular weekly shop and given they're chilled, they're really better suited for this purpose.
  1. I would recommend them
On the basis that my child enjoyed them very much but I can't honestly say that I can think of many friends who would regularly purchase them unless it was in a coffee shop/cafe scenario as if You're at home by your fridge, it's far cheaper to just bung your child something simple and home made. The convenience of pouch foods is somewhat lost when you can't just drop one in your handbag and go out for the day.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I didn't know this and it will change how I buy baby food.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

The pure apple one

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

They are very smooth. I have an older baby and some with more texture or with meat/fish would be good.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

Yes, they are tasty.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why

Yes. They are tasty and clearly full of nutrients

  1. No I didn't know, it may do as I prefer the idea of fresh baby food
2.the blueberry and prune- eaten in about two seconds!
  1. I prefer more vegetable based foods rather than a lot of fruit which seemed to be the case as I don't like my child to have too much sugar and get used to sweet foods, I found the sweet and savoury options mixed together off putting and so did my child who refused to eat the beetroot and apple one.
  2. No as I don't like the sweet and savoury combinations
  3. No as I feel they are too fruit based and even those with lots of vegetables in, once you look at the ingredients list a lot of it is fruit

I'm not that clued up on pet food but yes am aware there's no chilled baby food. There are chilled toddler meals but nothing for younger tots - I'm really pleased to see My First Savse hit the shelves.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

He loved the apple one best, obviously as it was sweetest.

They tasted and looked lovely and fresh. Very messy feeding them to my six month old though as they're very runny! Would be great if they could be a little thicker, and there were more savoury options. I'm keen to wean with savoury as much as possible.

If it was slightly cheaper or on offer I would certainly buy it, as I'm aware of how many nutrients are lost in ambient baby food - as a busy mum of four I use baby pouches quite a bit and do feel guilty.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Yes I would - because they are as nutritious as pureeing yourself, but a lot easier!
