This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who have been testing brand new range of cold-pressed baby food, My First Savsé.

Here’s what Guka, the founder of Savsé has to say: “When we looked at manufactured baby food, we realised babies weren’t getting the nutrients they deserved. Refusing to feed my own child pasteurised product, I wanted to push boundaries and create the freshest baby food possible. After all, real food isn’t just for adults.

This is why we created My First Savsé – Europe’s first cold-pressed, HPP baby food that’s as good as homemade. Unlike heat pasteurised baby food – which experiences a shocking 40% reduction in nutritional value – with My First Savsé the nutritional value of our 100% Organic, Grade A fruit and veg is never* compromised.

*Source: Fruselva Laboratories, July 2017 (tests carried out vs. heat pasteurised competitor x)”

Also from My First Savsé: “By cold-pressing our fruit and veg we don’t strip the goodness, replacing heat pasteurisation in favour of non-thermal High Pressure Processing (HPP) to ensure all vital nutrients are locked into each pouch, removing any nasties without compromising on taste or quality.

A busy parent will have to make a million compromises on a daily basis, but quality nutrition for their baby should never be one of them. However, with 1 in 4 parents unable to prepare homemade baby food due to work pressures, many have been forced to rely on heat pasteurised options bought in-store, with a sell by date often older than the babies themselves! But compromise no more. Our brand new cold-pressed baby food range, My First Savsé, has solved the problem - because babies deserve real food too.

Unlike heat pasteurised baby food, you won’t find My First Savsé in the baby aisle - oh no. You’ll find it in the chiller, alongside all the other fresh products!”

Testers, once the products are finished, please answer the below questions as well as leaving any other feedback you have:

1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
3. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
4. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
5. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

We’d also love to see some photos of your little one testing My First Savsé cold-pressed baby food, so please share on the thread if you can.

If you’d like to share your experience on social media, please do using the hashtag #myfirstsavse

All testers who complete the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one? *
I didn't know they did chilled pet food, but chilled baby food was never something I had thought about looking for so no, it wouldn't change my shopping habits. I made all the fruit and veg purées myself.*
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?* They all went down pretty quickly, DS is in no way a fussy eater.*
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?* *
My son drank them from the pouch as if they were smoothies (he's a little bit older than weaning age) so the fact they were very runny actually worked in his favour. However they were all very sweet and like previous posters suggested, it's a bit of a con to read cacao/blueberry/whatever as one the first listed on the front but it's actually a minuscule amount, and they're all just made of apple and banana. I wouldn't be happy using these as weaning pouches because I wouldn't want my child to only experience sweet flavours. Separate sweet/savoury pouches would be better. I do think the flavours on the pouches are more adventurous than other brands (that would persuade me to buy them over other brands) just a shame the taste doesn't reflect that.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? *
I* really like the idea that more nutrients are kept in, if indeed that claim is true and as an occasional treat I would like to buy them but not at £1.70. I could made a couple of ice cube trays of purée myself for £1.70 that would last a weaning baby days.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?* *
Yes, with a warning that some children have experienced things like stomach pain and vomiting even though mine didn't. I'm not sure I would recommend them to anyone with very young babies (4 months), as they still have very delicate digestive systems and the pouches are quite full on with the amount of fruit in them.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I'm not sure. I'm not totally convinced that ambient temperature baby foods are a problem to use if supplemented by fresh vegetables and fruit.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

Apple, pear, pea and spinach.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

I liked that there were some less usual fruits and veg contained in them. The only one my baby disliked was the one which contained cacao, amongst other ingredients. I tasted it myself and wasn't keen on the taste- a bit bitter.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I imagine this means that more of the nutrients are preserved, which is a bonus. So perhaps i would, especially if I came to the chilled section and saw these before ambient temperature baby foods.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Yes I would, for someone who is starting out with weaning and wants to let their baby taste a wide range of different fruits and vegetables.

  1. I wasn't aware that there was chilled dog food and that there wasn't chilled baby food. It has made me realise that there are now other options other than goods on the shelf and in the freezer.
  1. My son preferred the blueberry one though liked them all.
  1. I think that there could be less apple flavours and more vegetable options.
  1. I probably wouldn't buy them as my baby is getting older but I might consider it if they were on offer. They are quite expensive in my opinion.
  1. I would recommend them if it was someone that I knew who wasn't living on a budget as my baby enjoyed them and I like the fact that they have supposedly plenty of nutrients in them.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

No I was not aware of this. No, I do not think it will change the way I shop.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

My little one really enjoyed the Coconut, Cacao, Apple & banana pouch.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

I think improvement could be made by expanding on ingredients and different flavours. They are all very sweet based. I like to offer my little one a variety of sweet and savoury flavours. They seem to be more fresh in taste.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

Yes possibly if there were more flavours and textures on offer.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

I don't think I would recommend this product as I'm not keen overall on the flavours on offer and I struggled to decide when to give my little one a pouch as I didn't know if it was considered savoury or sweet. I think each pouch should contain a good and fair amount of each fruit and veg mentioned on the pouch. Also, I don't like that the pouches have a short life span as a large chunk of the pouch always ends up in the bin.

Thank you

1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

No, I was not aware of this. I doubt this will necessarily change the way I shop for my children unless the cost and health benefits are clearer to me. I do understand what heat pasteurisation does to food, but it is not clear to me the extent to which nutrients are lost. Clearly some remain so I'm not particularly clear on the precise difference between heat pasteurisation versus cold press.

2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

My daughter liked the blueberry, prune, plum, apple and banana, but generally ate all the flavours provided.

3. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

No issues with the recipes. I found the consistency more watery than other brands, but it was not a big issue for me.

4. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

As per my answer to question 1, I would need to understand the full extent of difference between the two before being able to make an informed decision. I don't think My First Savsé make this that clear. Also, it would be important to see the cost difference, which at the moment is too prohibitive.

5. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

I would have no problems with recommending My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, because if the way the food is produced retains the nutrients then that can only be a good thing. However, cost plays a bit part too.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I didn't know there was chilled pet food. I knew there wasn't chilled baby food. If they made the pouches for older babies then I would probably buy some.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
She liked them all apart from the coconut one which she hasn't tried yet.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
Lovely flavours but need a larger range. It would be nice to have 'complete' meals for older babies
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
Yes because I like the idea that they contain all of their nutrients
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
Yes they were very tasty and my baby loved them

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

No I wasn't aware of this but it will not have any impact on the way I shop for my son.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

My son enjoyed the coconut and cacao one the most but liked all of the ones he tried.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

Thickening the product, possibly with some soft lumps for older weaning babies would be great. My first savsé is similar to brands like picollo in the unique flavour combinations but more expensive so price could come down a bit.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I would purchase the plain flavoured apple one for my son because it seemed quite fresh and not as sugary as some apple flavoured baby products, however the rest of the flavour combinations especially the lentil one did not agree with my son so would only buy the ones he was ok with.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Yes nice flavour combinations and great for new tastes for babies, just not for every child.

1.Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
This won't, I don't think. I didn't know this was available.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
Blueberry, prune, plum, apple and banana.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
I think it's good, and similar. I think the concept of more vitamins etc is actually very appealing. I think there should be options of only vegetables, though. I tend to feed my little one mostly veg pouches. I was surprised that there was mostly fruit in them; I'd prefer for her to get used to mostly savoury tastes.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
I might, if it was more savoury based.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
At the moment, I would recommend them, but I would probably also say my reservations are that you do have to keep them in the fridge; it's slightly worrying if you need to go out for the day or something. Also, I'd want more savoury options, as I said.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I wasnt aware of chilled pet food as i dont have any pets.
No as the chilled baby foods were not substantial enough on their own for my son.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

He loved the Coconut caca one.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

They could have a wider range of simpler foods....none with kale in it (yuck)
My First Savsé are quite expensive for what you get (even when they are on offer) so if you are on a tight budget these may be out of the question.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

It would depend on the price, as i said in the previous answer, if you're on a tight budget these would be out of the question.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

The ones my son liked he scoffed them down really quickly. The ones he didnt he wouldn't even take a second spoon. I think they are expensive if the baby wont eat them.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I didn't know of My first Savsé before I started the trial. I loved that they were fresh, and that they didn't contain as many chemicals as other brands do.
I would buy again!

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

My son Alexander loves the carrot, pumpkin, apple and beatroot. At first he was annoy unsure but by the 2/3 mouthful he couldn't eat it quick enough.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

I will that they would do great if they offered the pouches frozen and from the fridge so parents can get more use out of it.
My first Savsé definitely has a strong upper hand against other brands, due to how fresh the food is and also due to the highly reduced level of chemicals in the food.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
I would buy yes, I would like to see if in the fridge and also available frozen so it can keep for longer. I would buy due to the reduced level of chemicals and also due to the fact of my son loves it!
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
I would highly recommend it, I have already! My niece and nephews have had a taste of the ones I had. I would highly recommend due to how it is made and stored.

Thank-you for giving me the chance
To try it. We loved in our house.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I didn't know there was chilled pet foods and hadn't heard of savse until this trial. I have been doing blw with my baby but have also started giving him mashed foods and the odd spoon fed food (soup or porridge) so he actually gets some in! Knowing these are available now.I'd likely buy them for on the go.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

He loved the cucumber, kale, kiwi, banana, spinach and apple one, ate the lot.

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

My main issue was all of them seem to contain apple. If I'm giving my baby a savoury/veg based meal I want it to taste that way. I'm guessing the apple is used as a natural sweetener which is fine but its not needed in them all.
I think if they had some 'meal' type pouches too, like lasagne etc, they could definitely compete with the pouches available now.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

Yes, definitely. I only ever buy pouches for on the go but this can be 2-3 times a week sometimes. Knowing these are as good as homemade is very appealing to me.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Yes, I already have! We share the sake views on feeding our children and she is due another baby soon and is considering these now for use on the go.

1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I had thought about this before, yes. I always wondered why there was not more healthy convenient babyfood readily available.

2. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range? He really liked the lentils, sweet potato , carrot and apple (which would not have been my first choice!)

3. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets? I would say it is a better option than is currently available; my son hate the jars and packets and I cant say I blame him- they taste foul. He does like fruit pouches. I really like the different selections of foods but I would say add some more adventurous dinners for the next stage; at home I make Chinese prawn curry with veg, chicken peas and chips, avocado, lemon, peas and coriander, houmous and bread, Salmon and creme freche........

4. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
Definitely, I cant understand why it has not been done before, its fantastic.

5. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? I would recommend it because it is a convenient healthy food for baby that they will enjoy and want to eat again. They are easy to bring along on your day out without any fuss.
I have such a busy life with three children and work that I cant always get round to making baby nutritious food. My First Savsé makes me feel happy I am providing a good meal for my baby.
Thank you Smile

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

No I had no idea , it may change depending on the competitiveness of the pricing .

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
My little one enjoyed all of the different flavours , especially the apple one . The least favourite were the more savoury ones.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
It's nice it looks great and I was intrigued by the flavours. How ever I don't know why but the thought of blended cucumber and kale put me off a bit. I have combined Blw and using purées . Cucumber is an easy food for a baby to eat and easy for me to prepare. I think it's good to have foods that are trickier to prepare to have in purée.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
Yes I think it's great that it holds onto more nutrients and definitely something I look for.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
Yes it's nutrious I liked the packaging .

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I didn't know this but as I very rarely buy baby pouches I don't think it will change the ones I buy.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

I only received one pouch - pear, pea, apple and spinach. My baby ate some but didn't seem too keen!

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

Unfortunately I don't know enough about the range to be able to answer this properly. I prefer to feed either vegetables or fruit, I'm not keen on the fact they are mixed together.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

Unless it was the same price or cheaper than other brands I wouldn't consider it. I make most of my baby's food myself so the difference in nutritional value in the very occasional meal wouldn't worry me.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Probably not, it didn't go down as well as home made. It may be useful to parents who are unable to cook for any reason.

MoltenChocolateBabycake · 21/08/2017 21:07

I'd also like to add that I was disappointed to read on the back of the pouch that parents are encouraged to ignore official advice and consider weaning before 6 months.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?

I don't have a pet so wasn't aware of this. Not sure why that would change the way I shop for my child? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question!

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

The cacao one, though she ate all of them - she is not fussy in the slightest! Didn't get to try the lentil one as it was out of date and I never received my replacement. Was really disappointed as that was the one that was most like something I'd actually feed her (not just full of fruit!)

  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?

As I said above I felt there was just too much fruit in the pouches. Yes, my baby loves fruit but I am trying to prevent her from having an overly sweet tooth so prefer to feed vegetables with some fruit rather than mostly fruit with a tiny percentage of veg. The names of the pouches are very misleading and don't reflect what's actually on the pouch. Some pouches that are more savory would be better. And be upfront about the main ingredient.

Other ranges have more variety and selection and are also cheaper. The cost is fairly prohibitive too so I probably wouldn't have bought them had it not been for the trial.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

Probably not. We've mostly tried to go with a baby led weaning approach, however we do use pouches when out and about. The fact these pouches have to be kept refrigerated is not convenient and especially the ridiculous short shelf life once opened. They are super funny so great for first weaning - but at that stage they are only eating a few spoonfuls so it's a massive waste, especially for the price!

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Maybe, if they were using pouches at home and had loads of money to spare but if it was for convenience while on the go then I'd say no as.

  1. Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I don't have a pet, so was unaware of chilled pet food. I did know about "toddler meals" in the ready meal section. I tend to serve table food for my little ones, so this is unlikely to change the way I shop.
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
My 8 month old little boy liked the blueberry and prune one best. He absolutely hated the one with beetroot - I couldn't even get a full bite in.
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
First off, reduce the apple content! They had this strong tangy apple flavour in every pouch. It made my baby pucker and shake his face, as he's not used to that strong sweet apple flavour in every meal. He prefers savoury foods and eats mostly vegetables rather than fruits. I don't see the need for so much fruit. Like others, was tricky to know what "meal" they were meant to be since they were all sweet. There isn't a huge difference in others, apart from cold pressed & being chilled.
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
The price is very expensive compared to giving my baby table foods cooked for the rest of the family (which he actually enjoys more), so I'm afraid it's not something I would purchase. I hoped they might be something that would be ideal for "on the go" or when out and needing to grab something. But since he didn't love them and they're expensive, it would be a wast of money & food.
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
Not sure I would be able to fully recommend the brand, if there were out of date items sent and babies with unwell stomachs. I feel frustrated to hear about the out of date lentil pouch! I looked at the dates on several of them, but not sure I studied every* date, and really hope I didn't have one out of date, as my son ate the lentil one! I would certainly suggest that it's a brand to keep an eye out for, to see how it develops in future. I think there's great potential, especially if savoury flavours could replace some of the apple centered ones!

No Will this change the way you shop for your little one? No. I will continue to cook for my child from scratch
  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
Beetroot
  1. How could My First Savsé improve their recipes?
Less runny - first tastes texture would be better. I had to thicken with baby rice How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets? If it is for first weaning (as texture suggests) then the pushes are too big if they only last 12hrs
  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?
No. Need to refrigerate defeats the object as I only use pouches when out and aboit
  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?
No. As stated above there is too much for a first tastes stage of weaning and it is too sloppy to be of any use for an older baby. Was *extremely* sweet too, even the apparently savoury flavours.

In honesty when I use puree it is for the convenience, so having something that can stay in the cupboard for months as a back up is more useful than something that needs to be kept in the fridge and has a use by date. I would use actual fresh food as fresh food. So whilst these products tasted nice, I don't think they will change my shopping habits.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

She liked them all.

More vegetable based and savoury dishes.
Most were 30-50% apple. Slices if apple are easy to eat and apple puree is high in sugar, I don't want to serve more apple!
In one pouch it was 70% apple and banana.
I would have liked less sweet varieties.

  1. Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why?

I might buy it occasionally. I would prefer it to normal puree on taste and nutritional grounds. But I couldn't see myself buying it often.

  1. Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why?

Yes, it tasted nice, my baby enjoyed it, better to have fresher.

  1. No
  1. He liked all of them. His favourite was the lentils one.

Partner had to throw away one packet which had arrived with a fine cut in the bottom of package and had leaked some contents into delivery packaging.

  1. You need more savoury, less apple. Create simple combinations and give more texture to the meals. Cacao was too runny, but the others were good for babies starting to wean.
My Savse looks and tastes like ( I also had a taste ) much fresher food compared to other varieties and that appealed to me.
  1. Yes I would have if the cost was lowered and you have a better variety of savoury ingredients. *
  1. *However my baby had a terrible night of literally no sleep and stomach pain after eating the cacao pouch and another which I can't recall, on day 2 of eating the products. It was possibly the lentils one that day too, but not sure.
I've now read this thread and seen this has happened to other babies. I can't be sure which pouch it was but I can't recommend it to anyone after that. despite him enjoying all the pouches we received. You need to investigate this further imo.

1.Did you know that until My First Savsé came along, there was chilled pet food available in retailers but no chilled baby food? Will this change the way you shop for your little one?
I didn't know this. Having tried the products I may look out for them and buy them as a treat
2.Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?
My son loved them all. I couldn't pick a favourite as he ate them all with gusto and finished the sachet in one sitting.
3.How could My First Savsé improve their recipes? How would you say My First Savsé compares to the current offering of baby food pouches in supermarkets?
I think adding more of the unusual ingredients rather than it mainly being apple based. I tasted them all and they were very sweet and apple tasting in all of them. I think they have a few different added flavours but not enough
4.Knowing that My First Savsé is never heat pasteurised, would you purchase My First Savsé if it was widely available in supermarkets, and why? I would certainly keep an eye out for them but generally don't shop in the places that currently sell them and wouldn't make an effort to go to those stores due to the higher cost of the product
5.Would you recommend My First Savsé baby food to a friend or family member, and why? If it came up in conversation I would recommend them as my son loved them and there were no side effects but I wouldn't actively promote them as they are pricey.

I didn't know about chilled pet food. The chilled baby food is a bit of a red herring - we buy the little dish toddler meals which are in the chilled section. It wouldn't change the way I shop.

  1. Which was your little one’s favourite recipe from the My First Savsé Stage 1 range?

My daughter enjoyed the blueberry pack the most. The rest were half eaten then discarded.

As others have mentioned, needing to be kept chilled is a pain. I get pouches because of their convenience though my daughter is 14 months so we now use pouches like this as pudding or snack if we're out and about. For that reason, I wouldn't have much use for a pouch which needed to be chilled though I think they are good for younger babies just started weaning (their intended audience I suspect!)

Personally I swerve away from pouches with too many flavours as I find them a bit confusing and tend to just taste sweet rather than have distinctive flavours. I prefer simplicity.

I would consider it if on offer, but I wouldn't say my daughter has shown much preference for them over Ella's kitchen and I buy baby food based on what she'll eat!

I think they're nice enough so would depend on price point. We've enjoyed trying them, so thank you for the opportunity!

  1. I didn't know this kind of food was available and I would be interested in it going forward.
  2. My daughter loved all of the flavours and wolfed them am down.
  3. I'd like the pouches to cater more for older babies by making them more of a complete meal.
  4. I would purchase them again because I feel like they are more nutritious from not being heat treated. But I suspect they will be too expensive.
  5. I would, especially for a young baby new to weaning. They're a bit different to the normal flavours and expand the baby's palate.
