Savsé has asked us to find 500 Mumsnetters to test their brand new range of cold-pressed baby food, My First Savsé. This product test is open to MNers with a child over 6 months of age.

Here’s what Guka, the founder of Savsé has to say: “When we looked at manufactured baby food, we realised babies weren’t getting the nutrients they deserved. Refusing to feed my own child pasteurised product, I wanted to push boundaries and create the freshest baby food possible. After all, real food isn’t just for adults.

This is why we created My First Savsé – Europe’s first cold-pressed, HPP baby food that’s as good as homemade. Unlike heat pasteurised baby food – which experiences a shocking 40% reduction in nutritional value* – with My First Savsé the nutritional value of our 100% Organic, Grade A fruit and veg is never compromised.

*Source: Fruselva Laboratories, July 2017 (tests carried out vs. heat pasteurised competitor x)”

Also from My First Savsé: “By cold-pressing our fruit and veg we don’t strip the goodness, replacing heat pasteurisation in favour of non-thermal High Pressure Processing (HPP) to ensure all vital nutrients are locked into each pouch, removing any nasties without compromising on taste or quality.

A busy parent will have to make a million compromises on a daily basis, but quality nutrition for their baby should never be one of them. However, with 1 in 4 parents unable to prepare homemade baby food due to work pressures, many have been forced to rely on heat pasteurised options bought in-store, with a sell by date often older than the babies themselves! But compromise no more. Our brand new cold-pressed baby food range, My First Savsé, has solved the problem - because babies deserve real food too.

Unlike heat pasteurised baby food, you won’t find My First Savsé in the baby aisle - oh no. You’ll find it in the chiller, alongside all the other fresh products!”

Find out more about the products here, or visit My First Savsé on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @myfirstsavse #myfirstsavse

If selected, you’ll receive the full range of 7 flavours and will need to test the product with your child as a part of your normal routine, and provide your feedback by posting on a thread on Mumsnet. We’d also love to see a photo of your baby trying the food.
All selected testers who complete the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

If you have any left, I'd stop giving them (apologises if you already have, it's not clear from your post Grin)
How old is ds? If you've not been weaning for a while, I'd be tempted to just have a day of milk to give his belly time to recover. Sorry you're still having a rough time. Flowers

@Unihorn even tho this isn't the actual thread it's coming up on the active threads part, which means that's people not apart of the testing will see all the negative comments with no response- and using this thread alone and the fact there's been no response from the company or HQ, I don't think it's a product I'd be rushing out out to buy.

JustineBMumsnet · 07/08/2017 17:30

We're sorry that some of you are having a negative experience with this test, and thanks for your posts over the weekend - unfortunately the Insight Team is only active Monday-Friday so we only became aware of these issues this morning. We contacted Savsé this morning and they are currently reviewing your comments - we expect a response from them shortly. Apologies again, and please bear with us on this.

Hi again, the response from My First Savsé has just come in:
“Dear testers, we are very sorry to hear that a few of your little ones have had some digestive issues over the weekend. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Rest assured, we did everything we could to ensure the products stayed cold whilst on their way to you, and they are safe out of the fridge for 6-12 hours. We work with expert nutritionists and have tested our products to ensure they are perfect for weaning babies at Stage One. We would suggest that the high fruit, vegetable and fibre content of our cold-pressed pouches could cause upset in some very sensitive tummies. Please do send across any product questions our way: [email protected]. We are thrilled that most of your little one’s are loving the pouches and look forward to gathering your feedback.”

Thanks for the response MNHQ. I would like to say though that my ds does not have a sensitive stomach. He eats every and anything, and I can honestly say that this is the only food that ds has had any type of reaction to.

TipBoov · 07/08/2017 19:53

Hmm..DD doesn't have a "very sensitive tummy" either. She eats a huge variety of both homemade and pouches and has never had issues previously.

My packaging was open, there was no dry ice, some of the packs had leaked and they didn't feel chilled. In the light of all the upset tummies I'm going to chuck them. Such a shame. Would give it another go if they can sort this issue out.

pinkDEpanter · 08/08/2017 08:27

Mine was delivered in just a foil bag too, no sensitive tummy here either.

We know it's made with nutritionists etc. Fact is they will have been in a foil bag for hours during transport, we were sent out of date food and when Savse were informed we've had a generic apology and told our babies are sensitive!

Yes, ok, the food is "safe to eat after the best before date" but if it's not been properly chilled in the first place then the best before is void!! I honestly didn't check the date-as I've said before, I trusted a company that has asked for babies to try their food for a huge audience such as mumsnet to be far more careful!

LoudestRoar · 08/08/2017 09:23

pinkDEpanter I'm also not impressed with Savse's response. Feel like they are putting the blame onto us for having 'sensitive babies' rather than taking our concerns seriously.

MsPassepartout · 08/08/2017 09:31

My pouches were delivered in a foil bag too, and they were cold to the touch when I opened the foil bag, so I'm confident the ones I received were transported safely. All within date too.

We haven't tried all the pouches yet, but so far there's been nothing unusual happening with DS3's bottom.

pinkDEpanter · 08/08/2017 10:27

Glad I'm not being sensitive LoudestRoar

We are effectively using our babies as guinea pigs to hopefully help this company grow and become a success. We should be taken seriously. My son is a windy boy but he was waking with severe cramps, which haven't happened since we stopped using them. My son is my 3rd so have experienced plenty of new food reactions.

My pouches were delivered at about 9am, can it be guaranteed that they were removed from a fridge at 9pm the day before at the latest?

I do agree that with the concentration of fruit/veg the poopsplosions are probably to be expected to a certain extent. I really hate to complain or be negative but I've signed my baby up for something and it's caused him discomfort so I am going to bring that up

Unihorn · 08/08/2017 11:10

FWIW mine arrived pretty much part frozen and I was in to receive them so I am assuming mine were stored and transported well, it's a shame others seem to have had problems.

It's interesting to note that I bought more pouches in Morrison's last week and discovered the lentil one was out of date there too, so clearly Morrison's didn't notice either!

StealthPolarBear · 08/08/2017 11:48

This is awful. Savse you need to deal with this properly

staceymummyleigh · 08/08/2017 14:35

Sofia is absolutely loving these so far, Which is amazing because she is quite fussy and I find it hard to find food that she likes without blowing Raspberries at me!

JustineBMumsnet · 08/08/2017 14:55

Hi all, another response from My First Savsé on your concerns. If you have any further or specific queries about this test, please feel free to post on the thread, PM me or email us at [email protected].

"Dear testers, we would like to clarify that dry ice evaporates into carbon dioxide rather than remain in solid form or turn to liquid, so it may not have been visible on arrival though did keep the products chilled during transit. We can ensure every package did have this on dispatch and it was as cold as we could arrange (dry ice is -80 degrees C) to cover the transit time. Please do send any specific product concerns or questions to [email protected] where we will be able to reply to you individually and send out replacements where necessary."

Just got back from being away today to discover my foil bag containing the pouches...left outside by the bins all weekend! According to the delivery note it was delivered on Friday, so unfortunately I can't participate in the testing of the product - sorry!

missg00se · 08/08/2017 22:25

Is this the feedback thread? I'm a bit confused as to what I'm supposed to do. In the interests of having provided some feedback if I'm expected to do so at the moment, my one year old thought they were ok. Mainly we used them mixed up with other stuff. She really likes the apple in her porridge. The chocolatey one was also a hit, she dipped her cherries in it, and generally got it everywhere but she was enthusiastic. Lentil and sweet potato was good as a soup with toast. No digestive issues here.

Need20yearsofsleep · 09/08/2017 11:54

Where do I review the products. They all turned up chilled and in date but one did burst so he couldn't have it. Gutted as it was the coconut one. He loved the rest

LoudestRoar · 09/08/2017 13:55

MNHQ sorry keep going on at you, but we still aren't sure what's happening.
I'm still not happy with Savse's response to thus, but appreciate that may be beyond your control. However, we are still waiting to hear about a feed back thread, and despite numerous posts asking, have had no answer.

Is this now the official feedback thread, or can we expect another one soon?

JustineBMumsnet · 09/08/2017 14:45

Huge apologies for the delay with the feedback thread! This is now live and you can now find this here.

Mine arrived today and were left with a neighbour who says he put them in his fridge until I came to collect them. One of them (the beetroot one) had burst all over the inside of the bag, when I looked closer there was a slit in the package. I think maybe the green plastic tube has cut through the pouch?

I never got any emails about the best before dates but checked after reading this thread. The blueberry and plum one has got no best before date on it at all so I've binned it. I'm quite concerned by the number of dodgy tummies, I'd already given DD half a pouch by the time I read that. She had the half pouch around 2hrs ago and is currently unsettled with a gripe cry, knees pulled up to her tummy, and truly noxious farts.

She won't be having any more of the pouches. Sorry.

Bearfrills · 15/08/2017 18:19

The burst pouch
