Savsé has asked us to find 500 Mumsnetters to test their brand new range of cold-pressed baby food, My First Savsé. This product test is open to MNers with a child over 6 months of age.

Here’s what Guka, the founder of Savsé has to say: “When we looked at manufactured baby food, we realised babies weren’t getting the nutrients they deserved. Refusing to feed my own child pasteurised product, I wanted to push boundaries and create the freshest baby food possible. After all, real food isn’t just for adults.

This is why we created My First Savsé – Europe’s first cold-pressed, HPP baby food that’s as good as homemade. Unlike heat pasteurised baby food – which experiences a shocking 40% reduction in nutritional value* – with My First Savsé the nutritional value of our 100% Organic, Grade A fruit and veg is never compromised.

Also from My First Savsé: “By cold-pressing our fruit and veg we don’t strip the goodness, replacing heat pasteurisation in favour of non-thermal High Pressure Processing (HPP) to ensure all vital nutrients are locked into each pouch, removing any nasties without compromising on taste or quality.

A busy parent will have to make a million compromises on a daily basis, but quality nutrition for their baby should never be one of them. However, with 1 in 4 parents unable to prepare homemade baby food due to work pressures, many have been forced to rely on heat pasteurised options bought in-store, with a sell by date often older than the babies themselves! But compromise no more. Our brand new cold-pressed baby food range, My First Savsé, has solved the problem - because babies deserve real food too.

Unlike heat pasteurised baby food, you won’t find My First Savsé in the baby aisle - oh no. You’ll find it in the chiller, alongside all the other fresh products!”

Find out more about the products here, or visit My First Savsé on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @myfirstsavse #myfirstsavse

If selected, you’ll receive the full range of 7 flavours and will need to test the product with your child as a part of your normal routine, and provide your feedback by posting on a thread on Mumsnet. We’d also love to see a photo of your baby trying the food.
All selected testers who complete the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Some of you will have received an email to let you know that you've been selected and should receive the product shortly! However, we're still looking for more testers - products are being sent out in stages so that My First Savsé are able to send the products out easily Smile.

JustineBMumsnet · 27/07/2017 13:01

Hi @LotisBlue - please do still apply as some testers with toddlers may be selected Smile

EllieMumsnet · 28/07/2017 09:54

Hi all, following on from our email to you yesterday, we have the following to pass on from Savse: "We're sorry to those of you who received a Lentil, Sweet Potato, Carrot & Apple Pouch with best before 17.07.17, please notify Mumsnet and we will send you a replacement. Savse have confirmation from the factory that the product is safe to consume up to 10 days after the printed best before date."

JustineBMumsnet · 28/07/2017 20:03

Hi all, just to confirm that the products should be kept refrigerated Smile

We've detailed this in our email to let testers know that they've been selected, so if you haven't received this, please check your spam folder and if you find our email here, add our address to your 'allowed list', as this is how we'll send any further updates about this product test. If you still don't find an email, please PM me so that I can look into this for you and send over any details we've sent out via another means.

Thanks to those of you who are letting me know you don't have an email - it's difficult for us to message you all individually and some of you may have the emails sent from our system sent to your spam folders for this reason. @heyheybaby and @FlipperSkipper, I'll email you the details you should have received again shortly Smile

We're sorry that some of you are having a negative experience with this test, and thanks for your posts over the weekend - unfortunately the Insight Team is only active Monday-Friday so we only became aware of these issues this morning. We contacted Savsé this morning and they are currently reviewing your comments - we expect a response from them shortly. Apologies again, and please bear with us on this.

Hi again, the response from My First Savsé has just come in:
“Dear testers, we are very sorry to hear that a few of your little ones have had some digestive issues over the weekend. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Rest assured, we did everything we could to ensure the products stayed cold whilst on their way to you, and they are safe out of the fridge for 6-12 hours. We work with expert nutritionists and have tested our products to ensure they are perfect for weaning babies at Stage One. We would suggest that the high fruit, vegetable and fibre content of our cold-pressed pouches could cause upset in some very sensitive tummies. Please do send across any product questions our way: [email protected]. We are thrilled that most of your little one’s are loving the pouches and look forward to gathering your feedback.”

JustineBMumsnet · 08/08/2017 14:55

Hi all, another response from My First Savsé on your concerns. If you have any further or specific queries about this test, please feel free to post on the thread, PM me or email us at [email protected].

"Dear testers, we would like to clarify that dry ice evaporates into carbon dioxide rather than remain in solid form or turn to liquid, so it may not have been visible on arrival though did keep the products chilled during transit. We can ensure every package did have this on dispatch and it was as cold as we could arrange (dry ice is -80 degrees C) to cover the transit time. Please do send any specific product concerns or questions to [email protected] where we will be able to reply to you individually and send out replacements where necessary."
